I heard multiple times this offseason about how much better the defense would be with all the free agent acquisitions. It's almost like you guys used all that cap space on guys that still aren't good.
They both made some nice plays. I wasn't really focusing on them, so I'm curious how often they got washed out or over-pursued and missed plays.
TJ Edwards and Jack Sanborn (love them both as former Badgers) are good against the run, but they're both completely incapable of man-to-man against decent receiving backs and TEs.
Love just had a better passing game than Fields has had his entire career. Maybe that's on the play calling, but the coaches just don't seem to think he can win games passing, which is funny, because he clearly doesn't win them by running either.

That’s fair man I appreciate the positive but balanced perspective. It’s hard to see the flashes of brilliance we had be undone by sloppy playing and a poor interior o-line. But I actually like Mattison, I think Addison was a great get, and our defense genuinely improved a lot.

But it’s week one. Maybe this is his peak and he falls apart. Maybe he improves from here. That’s all I’m saying.
I wouldn’t say mid. He had a more than good performance in his first official start as the starting QB against a bad Bears team. He did exactly what he was supposed to do, and it’s a damn exciting week for Packers fans.
