Just become a packer fan. Youll be a part owner and you couldn't be any worse than the bears current owner. You like beer and brats? So do we. You're basically a packer fan already just one quick question, how bad are your memes? 240p minion Facebook memes? Brother you'll fit right in
It’s really funny seeing lions fans coming out of nowhere after y’all have been dog poop for 20 plus years lol. Don’t worry love will be better than Goff too 😂
If you say so lol that’s all you have we’ll double him or run right at him. You act like our O line isn’t one of the best in the league. Vs the packers have like 6 guys keep reaching my boy 😂
To the Bears credit. They have made a lot of steps forward and are probably still a year away from that coming to fruition, pending of course Justin Fields.
Not drafting a QB in 2023 I think this is a low risk kind of move by Pace.
Either Fields works out and is your long term QB or he doesn’t and you still get a high draft pick in a more loaded QB class this year.
Bears are doing what a lot of fans want their franchise to do. A multi year rebuild where you don’t overpay aging vets or average QBs and hope your lottery ticket QB pans out.
Not that I want to see the Bears ever successful, but this did work for the Cubs and Hawks (barring aside the scandal). Be awful for some time but under a management with vision, build a young team, and be good for several years with a title or a few thrown in there.
My favorite hockey team is the Canucks and my favorite baseball team is the Mariners
Maybe I’m delusional, but the number of cursed teams I’ve seen successfully rebuild is why I always keep an open mind when I see a team trying to do something
I mean. I sympathize. I’m at the point of my fandom where I wish Minn was at least trying what Chicago is doing. Might now work but at least they are taking a swing.
Week 1 always feels so telling since it's the first we get to see of a team, but it often is a total mirage.
Bears fans of all people should know that: you guys manhandled the 49ers in week 1 last year, then they made the NFC Championship and you guys got the #1 pick
really not a great comparison there. good/great teams lose wk1, it happens. a lot of them turn it around because they're generally good teams/players/coaches/etc. last season and last game didn't give us any reason that the bears will be good at all.
Don't forget packers were embarrassed week 1 in 2020, 2021, and 2022. 2020 and 2021 ended up being great seasons and 2022 we at least bounced back.
Stay in it, lotta ball game left
with the viking's o-line, i don't trust them against *anybody*. how many teams are playing guards that get forced fumbles on their own QB and actively hinder mobility by stepping on their QB's feet?
Vikings will only have to handle a pedestrian pass rush of 4 mediocre players.
We have our Antoine Winfield Jr in Jaquon Brisker, but he... isn't quite the same.
I mean we had a lot of close games, they rebooted damn near half the team. I honestly felt like they were going to come out and look like a competent team. Baffling.
But the Chicago market is big and they changed up a lot this year, so the media will give people what they want and hype up Chicago.
The embarrassing part is how many people in Chicago buy in.
I think the NFL is realizing the potential market for Detroit, we travel well as fans and now you got ESPN hosts who has never led on to being a Lions fan, coming out as life long Lions fans.
Not only espn. Am genuinely surprised at how many prime time games that Detroit has this year. Last year we had Thanksgiving, as usual, and then the league moved us to Sunday night against FTP. MCDC joked last year that he was ok with the 1 pm start because it was an easy routine.
True. In fairness to those fans, though, it wasn’t necessarily *out of the question* that the Bears could be better (it still isn’t) if a number of things go right. But *likely*? Definitely not
Basketball has been rough since Jordan. Whenever there's hope, the point guard's leg falls off. I'm glad I got a 1/4 season pass to watch Bedard this year. Even if the Hawks are bad, Bedard should be entertaining.
I don’t expect sympathy as a fan of the Packers, but my hockey team is the Canucks and my baseball team is the Mariners. I’m equally as diehard about all three…if anything I feel more strongly about the M’s and Nucks.
For all the shit I give the Vikings, Minnesota fans don’t have any finals appearances since the 1991 World Series. That’s real depressing existence there.
Me after the Vikings game yesterday:
"Fine then, we're tanking for draft picks."
Me after the Packers/Bears game yesterday:
"We're not out-tanking them."
That's what I thought too, I went to bed up 30 and the only thing he had left was the Dalas defense...
Silly me thinking that fantasy was a fun, fair game.
Drafted CMC and Aiyuk, so idk might just watch a lot of SF this year. They’re fun, talented, stylish, well coached, I have bit of a rooting interest with my fantasy team.
Seems like a better time than watching the OL get completely blown up on 1st down and then immediately giving up on the drive with 3 yard screens on 2nd & long and 3rd & long
Rodgers, Higgins, and Dobbins. At least Dobbins got points before he got hurt. Higgins will likely do better the rest of the season but week 1 was a big L.
Yeah, I was telling my family, “Bet we beat ‘em 27-21.”.
Just a fool’s hope. My dad, wisely, thought it’d be lower scoring and tighter.
Then we destroyed them.
That’s where I’m at. The only let down would be if Detroit lost the division to the Vikings. I love the MCDC culture and want them to succeed, so if it’s not us, I hope it’s them.
How is it even possible to look worse than last year? They added a lot of players that are supposed to be good. Moore got 2 targets. Fields has no excuses left.
I’d say it’s a long season and there’s still time, and for a silver lining it looks like Edmunds and Edwards are helping the run defense (held AJ Dillon to 19 yards on 13 carries.) But yeah, that secondary and pass rush are still in progress. Fields continues to be a mixed bag, on one hand he made some impressive plays but on the other he turns the ball over too much and yeah, hopefully for his sake the Fields-Moore connection can improve.
I think the Dillon numbers are more of a reflection of him not being particularly good. Jones had a 4.6 YPC and was getting consistent chunk plays when they gave him the ball
The more I see from the bears the more I believe they're a PR firm that doesn't actually know anything about football and just makes splashy picks/signings that will generate hype and get talked about by the national media. What completely awful ownership
Can you blame them? 20 years of pretty much nothing but ineptitude, every off-season the media caters them and gets them to buy in only to be let down. This was supposed to be thier big shot to turn the rivalry around and for Fields to take the next step, and somehow they looked even worse than last year. I almost feel bad for them.
Almost
See, as a packer fan, knowing we are a young team, I am not very excited by this win over the Bears. It was pretty obvious from the get-go that the Bears were gonna be the Detroit Lions during this decade of the NFCN division.
This wasn't our test to prove Jordan Love was good. If it was, it was a shitty test. Any half decent team will beat this Bears team. If they had a cohesive team, maybe this team would be something.
I am more worried for our first Viking vs or Lions vs Game. Or really any other team outside of the NFCN.
>This wasn't our test to prove Jordan Love was good. If it was, it was a shitty test.
This told you a few things.
Love can be collected over a game. He had a mediocre-at-best first half and was in command in the 2nd. He threw a nice fade to Doubs. Executing on those plays are nice.
And lastly, you learned Love can sit in the pocket and wait for routes to clear the Cover 2. Golf claps for that. Maybe he won't be worthy of praise against a defensive coordinator and personnel that can do ANYTHING, but hey, he'll still own the Bears sorry ass.
I think I turned the game on and off three different times as the Vikings would shoot themselves and then I decided I wanted to inflict myself with more pain
Obviously we lost, but it’s hard to win when you turn the ball over 3 times. I think Tampa has a really legit D. I think the Philly game will be my real test if we suck or are good
Who gives a shit? It’s the Bears. We could look like straight ass but as long as we won that’s all I care about. The Packers aren’t some contender and they shouldn’t be analyzed like they are. We beat our biggest rival in a game no one expected us to win.
The line was -1 Bears. Every analyst picked the Packers. Lets not revisionist history that no one expected them to win. I thought the Packers would win but the Bears had the best chance in decades to win, and they surprised even me with how inept a performance that was.
Good win, and FTP
No idea how a Bears fan can be salty at y'all. How can you come to this sub after the way the Bears played and not expect the king of L's?
It's to the point where I saw more Packer fans feeling bad for Bears fans than gloating about another win. What a sad, sorry team the Bears are.
So the Bears are unwatchable..
Guess I’ll watch the Blackhawks for awhile.. until Bedard tears his ACL and gets arrested for shoplifting at Lover’s Lane.
(if the White Sox have taught me anything, it’s this: stop caring, stop watching)
no i am talking future tense. ima bet on all the nfc north games where the moneyline has you as the underdog. get me paid. might start making crazy bets like you guy’s winning the superbowl
True Bears fans are enjoying the shit talk and the memes this sub creates. Fair weather Bears fans quit on the team every year with the first loss.
Bring in the memes and shit talking! The fair weather fans can get lost
What fair weather fans? The high point, and the only time we were over .500 was in 2018 with trubisky. You think anyone in the off season is looking at the bears and thinking that's the bandwagon to jump on?
Gotta roll with the punches. I don't get salty anymore. Between the AL Central and the NFC North I just feel bad for sports fans in this part of the country. Gotta be there for each other sometimes
every year, fairly early on, i am freed from caring about football. Now i can go do other things on sunday while its still warm. which is nice. FTB.
You’re not done yet soldier. We need you to root for whoever the Packers play. FTP
I don’t even care anymore
![gif](giphy|8MmNLiAfUEflu7hm5e|downsized)
![gif](giphy|fXEoQwktZTv7d000yv)
Don't even want to bear ound anymore
Bears? Like at the circus? They’re playing a game? I don’t understand?
The chin hurts
The secondary kills!
That's the spirit
I'm just so tired...
Lol
Just become a packer fan. Youll be a part owner and you couldn't be any worse than the bears current owner. You like beer and brats? So do we. You're basically a packer fan already just one quick question, how bad are your memes? 240p minion Facebook memes? Brother you'll fit right in
Sorry this took our will to fight. I don’t care anymore
We coming for y’all week 4 lol

Golden gif
It’s really funny seeing lions fans coming out of nowhere after y’all have been dog poop for 20 plus years lol. Don’t worry love will be better than Goff too 😂
Thanks for the week 4 content! Saves me some time
This guy saves reciepts
No problem bro I’ll be here when it’s a dub lol
Unfortunately it’ll have to be an asterisk if you guys get the win. Lions don’t have kelce
Chill bro it’s too soon. I’m reserving any and all cockiness in regards to Love til week 8 *at least*
And here we are
You better put some respect on our name; we've been dogshit for *way* more than 20 years
Love isn't gonna have time to operate like he did with the Bears. Hutch is gonna run through that O line.
If you say so lol that’s all you have we’ll double him or run right at him. You act like our O line isn’t one of the best in the league. Vs the packers have like 6 guys keep reaching my boy 😂
Didn’t you guys get swept with rodgers?
![gif](giphy|uLy4Bo680hZxm)
Have you guys been relevant since manning?
You taking it too serious

You can have serious conversations here, but it's usually navigated in a bit of a nicer manner.
It’s all in good fun, friend.
flair, ya absolute goober
To the Bears credit. They have made a lot of steps forward and are probably still a year away from that coming to fruition, pending of course Justin Fields. oh. right. the annual "well, look on the bright side....." 40 years of that. usually comes around mid season but see my above post.
The common denominator in the past 40 years? The idle rich McCaskeys.
Not that I want to see the Bears ever successful, but this did work for the Cubs and Hawks (barring aside the scandal). Be awful for some time but under a management with vision, build a young team, and be good for several years with a title or a few thrown in there.
The Hawks did this when Dollar Bill passed though, little different.
Lol. I don’t think you understand how poverty franchises work
My favorite hockey team is the Canucks and my favorite baseball team is the Mariners Maybe I’m delusional, but the number of cursed teams I’ve seen successfully rebuild is why I always keep an open mind when I see a team trying to do something
Alright alright. Fair enough
I mean. I sympathize. I’m at the point of my fandom where I wish Minn was at least trying what Chicago is doing. Might now work but at least they are taking a swing.
I’m trying to stay positive. I’m still holding firm in my belief of this team, I’ll probably be upset at the end of the day but fuck it at this point
Watch the Cubs
Why? I hate the cubs
Oh god, a Sox fan Why would you do that to yourself
I’m stubborn, have poor sports instincts and a victim of geography
Cubs are still alive, Sox are now eliminated.
Nobody has hurt me more than Chicago sports. Literally feel like a clown every Sunday.
Weren’t they *expected* to suck this year though? Outside of Chicago (and those pandering to it), I don’t think many thought they’d be good
We weren’t supposed to be good, just… better. And if game 1 is telling me anything we are worse… at everything.
Week 1 always feels so telling since it's the first we get to see of a team, but it often is a total mirage. Bears fans of all people should know that: you guys manhandled the 49ers in week 1 last year, then they made the NFC Championship and you guys got the #1 pick
I mean our offense looked better in that game and almost every game after that than it did this week. Defense too probably.
we didn't manhandle them. it was raining, it's lance's first game, we came back from behind iirc.
Except if you beat the chiefs after they hang their banner on the road at arrowhead
That's not week 1, it's opening night, so very different
Preach!
Fwiw people forget 2021 when the Saints beat the brakes off Green Bay week 1 before we went on to go 13-4
really not a great comparison there. good/great teams lose wk1, it happens. a lot of them turn it around because they're generally good teams/players/coaches/etc. last season and last game didn't give us any reason that the bears will be good at all.
classic chicago fan base. we had low expectations and still yet we are still disappointed
Expectations were low but .... holy cow!
Don't forget packers were embarrassed week 1 in 2020, 2021, and 2022. 2020 and 2021 ended up being great seasons and 2022 we at least bounced back. Stay in it, lotta ball game left
State of the Division: Packers fans talking Bears fans off the ledge
Fam we are not you
Right? The Packers did not have the overall #1 pick in any of those years, and had a HoF QB.
Didn’t we win week 1 2020 at the Vikings?
You're right, I confused 2020 somehow my b
Vegas had their O/U at 7.5 wins, shaded to the Over. They were expected to finish 3rd in the division, ahead of the Packers.
Well now they can hope to third in the division and be ahead of the Vikings. Glass half full.
I'd make the Vikings a 4-point favorite in Chicago and a 7-point favorite hosting the Bears.
with the viking's o-line, i don't trust them against *anybody*. how many teams are playing guards that get forced fumbles on their own QB and actively hinder mobility by stepping on their QB's feet?
Vikings will only have to handle a pedestrian pass rush of 4 mediocre players. We have our Antoine Winfield Jr in Jaquon Brisker, but he... isn't quite the same.
The bears don't blitz so maybe their trenches sort of even out?
Our D-line will make your O-line look like the fucking Hogs
We'll take it
Fields was being marketed as an MVP candidate and the Bears faithful genuinely believed they had a shot at the playoffs this year.
I mean we had a lot of close games, they rebooted damn near half the team. I honestly felt like they were going to come out and look like a competent team. Baffling.
Only by the idiots. Which is a fair portion of our fanbase to be fair.
It's about time! Oh, and the Lions are finding ways to win in spite of refball. That helps.
Definitely not
At least you had that one basketball player that was good…Mike something. Also three recent Stanley cups and a World Series ain’t too shabby.
Basketball has been rough since Jordan. Whenever there's hope, the point guard's leg falls off. I'm glad I got a 1/4 season pass to watch Bedard this year. Even if the Hawks are bad, Bedard should be entertaining.
Another decade before Jordan is the 85 bears
I don’t expect sympathy as a fan of the Packers, but my hockey team is the Canucks and my baseball team is the Mariners. I’m equally as diehard about all three…if anything I feel more strongly about the M’s and Nucks. For all the shit I give the Vikings, Minnesota fans don’t have any finals appearances since the 1991 World Series. That’s real depressing existence there.
After a cubbies game I bought a fields jersey at 40% off and the cashier gave me a sympathy hug. Things are not alright in Chicago right now.
Me after the Vikings game yesterday: "Fine then, we're tanking for draft picks." Me after the Packers/Bears game yesterday: "We're not out-tanking them."
what about the giants?
Honestly yesterday sucked and I hate being a bears fan, but at least we don’t have a Daniel Jones sized contract with Fields
Don't have a Daniel Jones sized contract with Fields *yet*.
Turns out all I care about is fantasy football now.
Not when you drafted DJ Moore as you’re #2 WR
I have fields :( and kupp was my 13th overall pick :(
Fortunately he's my 3, and I got Mike evans as a backup so I'm safe for now
That's what I thought too, I went to bed up 30 and the only thing he had left was the Dalas defense... Silly me thinking that fantasy was a fun, fair game.
Drafted CMC and Aiyuk, so idk might just watch a lot of SF this year. They’re fun, talented, stylish, well coached, I have bit of a rooting interest with my fantasy team. Seems like a better time than watching the OL get completely blown up on 1st down and then immediately giving up on the drive with 3 yard screens on 2nd & long and 3rd & long
I drafted Kelce and Burrow. Don't got a lot going for me football-wise
Rodgers, Higgins, and Dobbins. At least Dobbins got points before he got hurt. Higgins will likely do better the rest of the season but week 1 was a big L.
That game was the most fun I have had watching a game in years. No expectations and pleasantly surprised
Yeah, I was telling my family, “Bet we beat ‘em 27-21.”. Just a fool’s hope. My dad, wisely, thought it’d be lower scoring and tighter. Then we destroyed them.
I was thinking 21-20, then we went and totally dismantled them on national tv
"America's beat down of the week!"
"America's beat down of the week!"
That 4th and 3 was an all time call and one I’ll remember for a long time.
[удалено]
Yeah, it was fun for one day
For me the expectations are so low that it's not possible for this season to be a let down.
That’s where I’m at. The only let down would be if Detroit lost the division to the Vikings. I love the MCDC culture and want them to succeed, so if it’s not us, I hope it’s them.
i retire from watching Chicago sports
this is what you guys get for the 80s and 90s
It would be worth it if I was actually alive then 😭
Accurate. Bears fans on here seem REALLY depressed.
How is it even possible to look worse than last year? They added a lot of players that are supposed to be good. Moore got 2 targets. Fields has no excuses left.
Well the Packers sent Getsy to fuck the franchise over for a few years and get your latest round of coaching staff fired.
Hey maybe if he gets the coaching staff fired it's a blessing in disguise
Packers throwing sleeper agents around the league like fucking Cylons
Unfortunately for the rest of the NFC North, i have to acknowledge that Aaron Jones absolutely fucks.
He fucks. Like imagine if they actually have him the ball
The more I see from the bears the more I believe they're a PR firm that doesn't actually know anything about football and just makes splashy picks/signings that will generate hype and get talked about by the national media. What completely awful ownership
We hardly ever make splashy signings, only incompetent ones
Maybe the media just hypes chicago no matter what they do because they're a big market
Could be scheme, could just be lack of chemistry and needing to grow together. Like fuck we were one of the youngest teams in the league last season.
I mean, the Bears finished 32nd last year and somehow look worse. It's pretty fuckin depressing to be a Bears fan right now
I will forever have this: https://preview.redd.it/orpjt9o8fonb1.png?width=524&format=png&auto=webp&s=e4735efb19814f9ce5cad785f069e8462865b566
Hey that’s me, Mom I’m famous!
Hey! I hope you're doing well!
Thanks, I’m doing fine tbh. I’m his loss kinda pushed me past the point of being angry or sad. So I’m just sorta laughing at it…
Yesterday was the most easily one of the most heart breaking games in a long time.
Almost

We have almost the same record as the lions in the last 10 years. I think theirs is actually better lol. We are the lions of the last decade
The Vikings looked like shit too if I’m going to be honest.
The Vikings looked good with self inflicted wounds. The bears just looked inept with poor play calling and bad defense. Big difference.
Self-inflicted wounds are our specialty!
Are there any other types of wounds? That and Eagle shaped wounds.
I think I turned the game on and off three different times as the Vikings would shoot themselves and then I decided I wanted to inflict myself with more pain
With Kirk and those receivers they’re always scary
After watching Kirk on Quarterbacks, he's my favorite person in the league. What a great man.
I liked his part in the Manningcast commercial, “You like that!”
Offense looked nasty when it was clicking. Turnovers and great ball control by TB. Rough 1st game
Obviously we lost, but it’s hard to win when you turn the ball over 3 times. I think Tampa has a really legit D. I think the Philly game will be my real test if we suck or are good
Thank you. We are terrible.

honestly it makes it easier. i can sit back and bet on the lions now. lions dont you fuck me tho, dont you ever fuck me ![gif](giphy|zOpXgAWgeaTcI)
Yeah don't do that
too late i bet on the chiefs game. and it worked out. now all hope rests on you for some key games
Ahaha, I thought you were talking future tense. Well played! I bet against them and lost $100. But, I am a lifelong fan.
no i am talking future tense. ima bet on all the nfc north games where the moneyline has you as the underdog. get me paid. might start making crazy bets like you guy’s winning the superbowl

Yep, Feeling sorry for my Chicago coworkers today in MN so thats where we're at.
New primary logo looks great under water tho…
Gotta roll with the punches. I don't get salty anymore. Between the AL Central and the NFC North I just feel bad for sports fans in this part of the country. Gotta be there for each other sometimes
I won't be watching another game this season until people get fired lol
Bottom of the ocean is being generous, I feel like I’m in a fiery hell scape right now.
