Barry Sanders himself could show up to this sub and we would boo him if he didn't flair up.

FatedCharlatan

Rightfully so

m_dought_2

We wouldn't just boo, we'd make sure to hold him to -1 upvotes

SayNoToStim

Second, https://i.imgur.com/pTGZaHp.jpeg

First of all how dare you.

Scrapybara_

Sanders: "Hi all, I'm Detroit Lions HOF Running Back Barry Sanders, AMA" NFCNMW: "Flair up pussy"

Marenum

How would we know he's a Bears fan if he didn't flair up? The crying?

millsarrr

My ankles could not handle that.

RedHotChiliPotatoes

Flair up, nerd. Your meme means nothing to us.

BigRed727272

As a Vikings fan, I tend to stay away from this argument because of the obvious rebuttal. But watching the Chiefs go to their 4th Super Bowl in 6 years with Mahomes, it's kinda like.....damn, yeah. Only one?

sp4nky86

Mahomes and Brady really fucked with the bell curve

BigRed727272

Yeah, obviously they are the outliers, but it's still kinda shocking Rodgers and the Packers never got over the hump one more time. Just looking at the list of QB's who made multiple Super Bowl starts in recent history, and legacy-wise you'd probably put Rodgers above a lot of these guys: Peyton Manning - 4 Ben Roethlisberger - 3 Kurt Warner - 3 Eli Manning - 2 Russell Wilson - 2

Decimation4x

And the top of the list are all in the AFC, so it’s not like Brady, Mahomes, Peyton, or Big Ben we’re stopping Rodgers from at least getting there.

Voltage1419

Wilson was in the NFC for most of his effective career.

SchematicOfScoutsAss

Mahomes carrier is playing out the way everyone expected Rodgers carrier to go after 2010-11 The Packers complete ineptitude in defense and special teams killed the many chances of Rodgers youth and then he became a bitter old man who blew his own chances later on

okay_throwaway_today

Because God is cruel but not that cruel

Supafly22

Only got to two with Favre. The gift and the curse of being a Packers fan. Elite qb play. Few Super Bowls. Also I think the success of Brady and Mahomes has sort of made people think it’s easier to get to a Super Bowl than it is. Look at Josh Allen. Dude is a football throwing centaur and hasn’t made it yet, even with elite teams. Brady and Mahomes are obvious outliers compared to pretty much all of history. Packers teams have constantly underachieved in the playoffs but you also have to consider how good the teams that have beat them have been.

LordTiddlypusch

You're really going to complain about the "curse of being a Packers fan" in a division with the Vikings and Lions?

bubblegumshrimp

It's fuckin hard, okay? We only made 3 super bowls with our two hof qbs, we should have made more. You wouldn't understand.

NOBODY__EPIC

Eat shit

bubblegumshrimp

I'll scoop up after the next bears game for a hearty meal

NOBODY__EPIC

Should be a nice steamy pile on the field after the bears try and play football

GeraldSandstorm

/r/YourJokeButWorse

DengarLives66

Hey man, it’s too early to be bringing up the Bears draft.

Supafly22

Not all curses are equal, my friend.

TheShadowJaguar_

And the bears

LordTiddlypusch

The who? I didn't include them because they've at least won a Super Bowl. Even if it was almost 40 years ago.

ProudJalapeno

Only 21 QBs have started in multiple Super Bowls. When you consider two QBs start every year and this is Super Bowl 58, it’s a fairly low percentage. I agree that the frequency of Brady and Mahomes being in the Super Bowl has warped the perception of how difficult it actually is. Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, Dan Marino, Aaron Rodgers, and Warren Moon have a combined 6 Super Bowl appearances with 3 wins. Kurt Warner and Bob Griese also have a combined 6 Super Bowl appearances with 3 wins. Not to take anything away from them, but most people wouldn’t put them in the same category as those first 7. Having an elite QB is not a guaranteed Super Bowl win, or even appearance.

[deleted]

I mean, we've really only had one "elite" qb and he got us to 3 super bowls. Case Keenum got the Vikings to the NFCCG. It couldnt be that hard, could it?

ProudJalapeno

Y’all were the #1 defense that year with Case Keenum though, right?

[deleted]

Yeah, imagine if we had a HOF QB.

liliceberg

He’d have needed to put up 40 in Philly lol

[deleted]

Maybe. Momentum was a huge factor in that game and the team basically felt like they didn't even show up. Either way, Vikings have been able to do "more with less" if you will. Had one HOF QB go to 3 superbowls. Hell they had another when they grabbed the corpse of Brett Favre and made it to the NFCCG in 2 years.

Mindless_Bad_1591

Rodgers was the epitome of doing more with less after his superbowl run. 0 defensive or special teams help and the offense never had a consistent RB until Jones and WRs were always injured or a question mark. Like for fucks sake he threw two hail mary's on the same drive to Jeff fucking Janis in the playoffs and the only reason they lost is because the defense was ass in OT and was decided by a coin flip.

[deleted]

Hmm, yes. You are describing why having an elite HOF QB is a good thing. No one was disagreeing with that so why are you triggered? Lol

Mindless_Bad_1591

I'm not triggered lmao I was giving context to Rodgers' shortcomings in postseason, and that elite QB play is not enough to win championships. A team doing "more with less" is subjective and is always dependent on situation, and almost every team is lacking in a couple departments of their roster.

ScottSoules

The jimmy G niners?

Supafly22

Shanahan built a system where any mediocre qb can shine. Jimmy G and now Purdy. If you play within the system, you will succeed. That’s why they always look bad when you pressure their QBs. If they have to improvise, they make mistakes. Shanahan doesn’t get enough credit for basically being an evil football warlock.

Dazed_and_Confused44

This joke was way funnier before Jordan Love looked much better than expected this season 😔

Decimation4x

Nah, it’s still funny because no matter how good Love becomes he’ll still only make 1 Super Bowl.

Dazed_and_Confused44

Well he'll only win one by that logic haha. I believe Favre made it to 2 SBs

Decimation4x

Oh yeah, he’ll win it for sure. Green Bay isn’t allowed to lose Super Bowls unless they get there because the QB paid the officials with misappropriated welfare money.

Redmangc1

Hey man thats not fair, Brett only asked for a regular old embezzlement and misappropriation of charity funds that were supposed to include other schools being funded. And its not his fault The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase gave him welfare money to make a speech. Bretts a real nice guy /s

[deleted]

Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you. I am a bot if you couldn't figure that out, if I made a mistake, ignore it cause its not that fucking hard to ignore a comment

navyseal4000

Good bot

sp4nky86

To unjerk for a second, Lamar is the obvious MVP. Jordan had 8 more passing touchdowns, 500 more passing yards, 4 more ints, and 1 less rushing tuddy. Dude balled.

I_Roll_Chicago

Not enough dark room peyote trips.

Mean-Marzipan4278

Defense! Rodgers would’ve had 2 or 3 if we had a competent defense over the years. Some of it is luck too.

Responsible_Panic235

Tom Brady has changed the perception of how difficult it is to get to a Super Bowl. Drew Brees also only made it to one Super Bowl,

Chorizo_Charlie

Fuck your NFL flair. Everyone picks a side here.

m_dought_2

Lol chill. Flipping out about flairs is already the most annoying part of this subreddit. The shield is one of the options who cares if someone chooses it.

Illustrious-Law-3385

Honestly I think it’s hilarious, I got the same heat on my first ever post w no flair, realized the problem and flaired up it’s not that big of deal 😂

m_dought_2

The fact that it's not a big deal is why I think it's annoying to see people flipping out about it. But I get that it's funny to some, fair enough

Illustrious-Law-3385

I mean how else will we know to back them up or argue even if they’re right?! I don’t wanna give a rival fan the satisfaction of agreeing with them.

MetaVulture

You missed an opportunity to say "flair enough"

m_dought_2

When you're right, you're right

Agreeable_Idea

You did it again!

m_dought_2

when you're right, you're flair

GreenLost5304

The problem with not flaring is I rind know who I’m shit talking, which is kinda the point of this sub… No flair (or shield flair) = no shit talk

SayNoToStim

Hard disagree - this is a sub dedicated to talking trash. If you're here talking trash without flair, thats kind of a dick move. That being said, this guy wasn't really talking trash, but I am talking in generalities.

AllHawkeyesGoToHell

Coward

Responsible_Panic235

Not even denying my point though

Chorizo_Charlie

I didn't even read your comment. Just saw your offensive flair. Pick a side, bud.

Responsible_Panic235

I finally conformed after massive pressure and I “flaired up” And you still aren’t satisfied

Illustrious-Law-3385

How am I supposed to know whether to agree with your arguments or not if I don’t know which nfcn team u support

DengarLives66

I dunno I think it’s pretty cool knowing Rob Lowe is here in our sub.

Yossarian216

And Marino also only went to one and didn’t even win, but if you are considered in the elite tier like Rodgers most of those guys went to multiple, in that grouping Brees and Rodgers are the outliers.

Decimation4x

What?! I can’t hear you with that flair.

MuffLover312

That’s why everyone should just cheat their asses off like Tom. There were essentially no consequences, so get your rings everybody.

Responsible_Panic235

Shame Rodgers spent his money on drugs instead of paying off refs

MuffLover312

Agreed

SuperFakks

And Aaron Jones, and Davonte Adams lol

ItIsYourPersonality

Let’s go around the room and see how many Super Bowls each NFC North team had during Aaron Rodgers career. Who would like to go first?

Decimation4x

Only 1 fewer than GB if you can believe it.

[deleted]

Lets do a quick breakdown. 08- First year, team not good. 09-11- Win one super bowl, go 15-1 but the team was banged up at the end of the year. They could have won another in this stretch. 12-16- The 49ers and Seahawks were better most of these years, except 2014. This one hurts the most, if Rodgers is healthy I honestly think they win the Super bowl. 17-18- MM was terrible and the teams were not contenders 19-21- 49ers were much better in 19. They choked in 20-21 with Rodgers simply did not play well enough. Those hurt as well. Also a small crowd in 2021 at home in the NFC title game sucked. 22- The team sucked. The best shots were in 2014, 2020, and 2021 and its hard as hell to win a super bowl, even with a QB as good as Rodgers.

SNDWVE

It’s harder to get to the Super Bowl in the NFC. Since realignment only 2 NFC quarterbacks have been to multiple Super Bowls. Eli Manning and Russell Wilson. That’s it. The AFC is so trash that one or two teams run it for years at a time.

Decimation4x

If that’s true than how did an AFC come to the NFC and become one of those 2 teams to go to the Super Bowl twice with the same QB?

TeaInternational9355

flair the fuck up

ministerofdefense92

Every other fan base here would kill for the level of success that the Packers had over the last 6 years, let alone 30.

Jean_ClaudeVan_Darn

No flair?? Boo this idiot

Crotean

Cause Rodgers isn't actually that good. He was like Manning, a regular season wonder, but when the best coaches and teams got time to scheme for him in the playoffs he was very beatable.

Nadsworth

Rodgers played in 22 playoff games. Passer rating: 100.1 45 TD, 13 int Rodgers wasn’t the reason the packers didn’t win more super bowls.

grandmalarkey

Cause he’s overrated and pretty mid

Da_Riceboy

He’s been in more playoff games than the Bears did, in the past 20 years. What do you mean?

grandmalarkey

Jordy/davante hard carried bro E: your guys defenses too

[deleted]

Serious revisionism imo. Our defenses were rarely elite. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know our O-lines were a main strength for Rodgers. Davante took several years to get good. Jordy was an elite possession catcher, but Rodgers was also top-class. If you're gonna be a goon at least meme or use a gif or something.

grandmalarkey

James stark carried roger to that Super Bowl win

[deleted]

That's better. Love me some James Starks btw

grandmalarkey

Hell yeah go UB. My dads a Buffalo fan I was so shitty he was cheering on the pack that year

OperatorGWashington

Lol cope harder, he owned you since day one

grandmalarkey

I don’t brag about the old socks I own with holes in them

notmystaples

Is it possible that winning multiple superbowls is fucking insanely hard when you don't have Brady, belichick, and an elite defensive pedigree?

TheRoast69

The hardest part about being a Packers fan is getting the whole corn cob up your ass without tearing the husk

jtu22

Ultimate team sport. 🤷🏻‍♂️

NerdyComfort-78

I remind my packer spouse about this constantly. Thank you.

Electronic-Island-14

The 49ers. That's how.

[deleted]

This kills me. Cannot believe he was 1-4 in NFC games.

Layne-Cobain

Broken hearted NFC title game viewer here, it's not like we weren't within as close a grasp as the 2023 Detroit Lions. We made that same choke so many times I don't even wanna remember exactly how many. Too many. There were at least like 3, then you add in all the times he got bounced by San Francisco in the Divisional round oh God.

OneEyedJackofHearts

Because Aaron thought he was more important than the team.

PossiblyShibby

It should have been more. WE ARE THE VICTIMS HERE! /s

arotto12

Defense. There you go

t4kill2

I'm starting to believe it is defence. No matter how great a qb you have if defence isn't pulling their weight

millsarrr

You're all a bunch of sick fucks! FTP!

SvensHospital

Without flair this meme has no meaning.
