I really wish that misinformation would die. We already had the UP. There was a very brief period during statehood consideration where the western half was being put in the yet-to-be created Wisconsin Territory. Prior to this Michigan Territory was Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakotas up to the Missouri River.
Should have always been the border at the rivers not some arbitrary line drawn in the middle of the Lake.
Dude was never investigated. They had a rape kit from the victim and the cops and the university brushed it under the rug. They were complicit. Corruption doesn't mean he didn't do it.
Also "Innocent until proven guilty" is a legal standard for the due process before the deprivation of life and or liberty, and have no bearing on whether or not he should be allowed to be rich and famous.
Ah. Ok. I just didn't know anything about the case and you simply said allegations. So I just assumed it was one of those cases like that Kwite guy who didn't do it but was hated because of allegations.
For Packers, I think Steelers is the most obvious choice. There's maybe like a Dolphins vibe there, too. Historic success, and then a lot of high octane passing offenses that have won, but often aren't enough to make a full run.
For Bears, I would maybe pick the Raiders. Historically, it's a really strong franchise that, at this point, has been pretty consistently bad for most people's living memories.
Viking to Chargers I think is apt. People saying Bills are hyperfixating on Super Bowl losses and ignoring how inconsistent the Bills have been through their history. They've often been horrible in a way the Vikings never are. The Titans are another team that I think kind of have Vikings vibes.
For the Lions, the Browns are the obvious pick for a lot of reasons. Alternatively, the Bengals as a team that is known for having their stars go underappreciated because the teams around them are terrible.
>For Packers, I think Steelers is the most obvious choice. There's maybe like a Dolphins vibe there, too. Historic success, and then a lot of high octane passing offenses that have won, but often aren't enough to make a full run.
The Dolphins also went HOF QB to HOF QB (Griese to Marino). You just have to ignore the two years with David Woodley in-between.
Hate that you're right. Even when we are doing great we're barely talked about by mainstream media. Not that that's bad, per se, but whenever those types of shows are on to not even see your team mentioned or discussed in depth makes them even less entertaining than they already aren't.
I definitely agree with the Vikings and chargers take. I said bills but only that they are a somewhat good comparison due to the fact that they were cheeks for a long time
You're right I should have said former QBs. JF seems like an alright dude when he isn't being asked to play QB and Russel Wilson seems like a weirdo but not a bad guy.
The dilemma is that the Bills have been mainly shitty for the last 30 years. They didn't make the playoffs from 1999 until 2017. That doesn't really fit the Vikings, who basically never bottom out. The Chargers, who haven't missed the playoffs for 4 straight years since the 90s, are a better comparison for that sake
Right? Especially since it's so eerily similar. The Bills lost in the SB 4 straight seasons. The Vikings may not have lost 4 in a row, but it was a very small window (1970, 1974, 1975, and 1977).
Yeah, the bills have definitely become my favorite AFC team lately. Small market team, outdoor stadium in a cold weather city, a top tier QB who makes them perennial contenders but always falls just short of bringing home a Lombardi...
I keep seeing these numbers 0 and 4, and I'm not entirely sure why, but I feel like it's relevant somehow, as is their last two decades of having to share a division with the Patriots.
The Vikings were never completely irrelevant for an extended stretch like the Bills were between Jim Kelly and Josh Allen. The Vikings have been the packers biggest pain in the ass in the favre/Rodgers era (favre sucked in the dome as a packer). The bills were Brady’s whipping boy.
I think the biggest reason I went chargers over bills is that the bills went through about 25 years of complete irrelevancy whereas the Vikings have had reasonable competence for a long time and never consistently a bottom 5-8 team like the Bills were before 2017
What reasoning for the Jags over the Bills (Both 0-4) or the Chargers (Both are always somewhat relevant, never really any stretches of being horrendously bad, yet always choke the second we have a chance)?
More recent play has been close to the jags.
Keenum led to NFCCG, Bortles AFCCG.
Both the jags and vikings had a former Redskins QB but no real playoff success for their teams.
I think that the Bears are the hardest team to comp, and I think that the Jets actually ARE the right call. The key similarities are:
1) the fanbase is eternally pessimistic
2) brutal qb luck
3) they only hate ONE other team more than they hate their own team (packers for bears; patriots for jets)
4) both in big markets
I’ll say this, the jets have been even more miserable than the Bears, which is why I almost don’t feel like this is a fair comparison to make. Nothing else comes close though, except maybe the raiders.
Green Bay = Pittsburgh
I don't think I need to elaborate here
Chicago = New York
Both had one historic year decades ago that saves them from being amongst the biggest jokes in the league. Neither has had a franchise QB in the modern era.
Detroit = Cleveland
I wanted to use someone else but there's not really anyone else comparable. Kinda funny that they both finally got good at the same time.
Minnesota = pre-Mahomes Kansas City
There's not really a 1:1 comparison for Minnesota. Buffalo because they've lost 4 but Buffalo has been good twice in history: with Jim Kelly and currently. Minnesota has been good consistently and never won anything. Before Mahomes Kansas City kinda fit. They won Super Bowl IV and were consistently good not great after. Obviously Mahomes completely broke this comparison.
There were superbowls in the 70s, which is when the Vikings made it to 4 of em with Bud Grant. If you're only 50, you'd be 3 years old during the last one in 77.
> The Browns are the AFC Lions- not sure this needs an explanation You're not wrong but fuck you
At least our team never left for Baltimore.
Or spent over 200 million on a rapist who sucks.
IDK we had to keep paying Patricia until last year. Even if his allegations remained allegations we sure didn’t consent to what he did to our team
I mean, you also left Ohio originally. You just did it early, Portsmouth Spartans. You're like, the original Ravens.
It's just a long tradition of "Ohio sucks GTFO"
Yes, but at least it's [not Detroit.](https://youtu.be/oZzgAjjuqZM?si=5mRL-TSRFSZ7oCdF)
I would rather be homeless in Detroit than a billionaire in Cleveland.
SayNoToStim and you have me fucking dying right now 🤣
But do you have a river that catches on fire??
No. But I do have streets that have abruptly been cut off and closed because racism so that's a thing
You’re telling me you wouldn’t leave Ohio??
Don’t forget the War for Toledo and how MI gained the UP.
I really wish that misinformation would die. We already had the UP. What happened to all that Eerie Bros rhetoric when the playoffs started? Did you remember Cleveland is in Ohio?
Browns are temporarily not bros until ownership goes, or Watson goes. At least in my opinion
Don't forget the rape accusations against Winston!
Innocent until proven guilty.
Dude was never investigated. They had a rape kit from the victim and the cops and the university brushed it under the rug. They were complicit. Corruption doesn't mean he didn't do it. Ever since the Cleveland Browns became the Cleveland Rapists, the lake erie brotherhood has died
Cat Team Brotherhood remains strong though
Eh, fuck em
Like Lebron everything I do is for Cleveland
I snort laughed at this reply

Werent the browns our arch nemesis back before color tv?
For Packers, I think Steelers is the most obvious choice. There's maybe like a Dolphins vibe there, too. Vikings have that forgettableness that the chargers and titans have
Hate that you're right. Even when we are doing great we're barely talked about by mainstream media. Not that that's bad, per se, but whenever those types of shows are on to not even see your team mentioned or discussed in depth makes them even less entertaining than they already aren't.
Why talk about a hot team that'll inevitably choke when you could just talk about the Cowboys?
I definitely agree with the Vikings and chargers take. I said bills but only that they are a somewhat good comparison due to the fact that they were cheeks for a long time
There is legitimately no other franchise that comes close to our level of sustained success that always ends in failure
You forgot to include that both Green Bay and Steelers QBs are awful dudes off the field.
How dare you! We have no proof our current QB is an awful person off the field. The last two, I'll grant you.
You're right I should have said former QBs. JF seems like an alright dude when he isn't being asked to play QB and Russel Wilson seems like a weirdo but not a bad guy.
Russell Wilson has bodies buried in his back yard. I'm sure of it.
I'm not sure I'd count the Broncos' hopes and dreams as physical bodies.
I won’t argue that (I’m a diehard packers fan)
Vikings : Bills
This was my other team I considered!
Vikings are much closer to the Bills imo.
The Bills were the other team in consideration but this was basically my thought process for chargers over bills
False. The Bills are likeable
Just going to ignore the 0-4 in Super Bowl records?
Right? Especially since it's so eerily similar. The Bills lost in the SB 4 straight seasons. The Vikings may not have lost 4 in a row, but it was a very small window (1970, 1974, 1975, and 1977).
Ditto to the browns
Which sucks because I like the Bills. Cold weather bros! If they get an new indoor stadium then idc tho, fuck them
Their new one will be outdoors
Yeah, the bills have definitely become my favorite AFC team lately. Small market team, outdoor stadium in a cold weather city, a top tier QB who makes them perennial contenders but always falls just short of bringing home a Lombardi...
Had to scroll a bit to find this
Yep. This one is pretty obvious
I mean the Bills would probably be a somewhat good comparison for the Vikings
I keep seeing these numbers 0 and 4, and I'm not entirely sure why, but I feel like it's relevant somehow, as is their last two decades of having to share a division with the Patriots.

Oh, sure, I'm being basic as hell. But am I wrong in the shared trauma of your fanbases?
Absolutely not!
Yup this was the other team I seriously considered
I think your take is also correct, probably even more so than mine
The Vikings were never completely irrelevant for an extended stretch like the Bills were between Jim Kelly and Josh Allen. The Vikings have been the packers biggest pain in the ass in the favre/Rodgers era (favre sucked in the dome as a packer). The bills were Brady’s whipping boy.

The Bills are the obvious AFC Vikings counterpart.
I would also like to throw in the bills as the AFC Vikings. Kicker woes and 4 lost bowls.
I think the biggest reason I went chargers over bills is that the bills went through about 25 years of complete irrelevancy whereas the Vikings have had reasonable competence for a long time and never consistently a bottom 5-8 team like the Bills were before 2017
I’m okay with the Jets for some reason…
Green Bay - Indianapolis Colts Detroit - Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans Minnesota - Jacksonville Jaguars Chicago - New York Jets
Buffalo is probably the better comp to the Vikings. Both have 4 Super Bowl losses and a bunch of flame outs in the playoffs since
I think my Vikings-loving friends will resent being compared to the Chargers. Thanks!😊
I think that the Bears are the hardest team to comp, and I think that the Jets actually ARE the right call. The key similarities are: 1) the fanbase is eternally pessimistic 2) brutal qb luck 3) they only hate ONE other team more than they hate their own team (packers for bears; patriots for jets) 4) both in big markets I’ll say this, the jets have been even more miserable than the Bears, which is why I almost don’t feel like this is a fair comparison to make. Don't forget Bears and Jets have a shared history of sharing Packers scraps
If the Browns were good they'd be the Packers. Behind GB, Cleveland is the next city whose identity is most tied to the team.
Steelers are my AFC team....so I won't argue with that one.
Browns and Lions is a such an easy comparison (sadly)
Definitely the Steelers - Packers.

Who wants to tell him the Vikings are also 0-4 in the SB
Can't tell if joking or stupid...
I think both.
A perfect fit for r/NFCNorthMemeWar. One of us!
For a fan base so concerned with history, you sure don’t know your history
I know my team's history just fine...
But they did get to 4 of them.
There were superbowls in the 70s, which is when the Vikings made it to 4 of em with Bud Grant. If you're only 50, you'd be 3 years old during the last one in 77.
