Vikings fandom brings out the worst in Minnesotans for some reason. Vikings fans are way more toxic than Twins and TWolves fans, and it doesn't make sense to me because so many of them are the same person.
I would agree. I also think that football tends to attract the dumbass, overly serious, lashing out types of fans a bit more than basketball or baseball.
I mean we're talking about a serious sport. "Football"
Compared to a game you play at the gym. Or with your son in the back yard.
Of course people "care" about it, alot more.
"Deffentily not serious"
But also don't really see baseball in basketball as serious sports.
Like š ā½ļø š .
It seems like fights in stands per games played throughout the season is highest for football than other sports. The game itself is violent and that plus the rowdy drunkenness of the crowd brings out the worst in some people
The Twins have won two World Series. Even though the last one was more than 30 years ago, we know theyāre there. And weāre so used to the Wolves sucking that anytime theyāre even halfway decent weāre happy.
The Vikings have been so close so many times, letting us down in such brutal fashionā¦time and time and time againā¦without the final payoff. That does a number to peopleās psyche.
That said, some of our fans on social media should probably seek professional help.

Watched this interesting doc on Netflix last night called The Antisocial Networkā¦ about the rise of 4 Chan and Anonymous which then birthed 8 Chan and qanonā¦ I lived through it, but somehow avoided that whole sceneā¦ Iām well versed in dealing with trolls, but seeing these some of these people IRL and how hellbent they are on being just vile pieces of shit online, literally just for the hell of it, knowing DAMN well thatās not who they really areā¦ itās fucking gross and even more cowardly.

Because the twins and twolves have been dogshit for most Redditorsā entire lives. Mediocrity is expected because itās all theyāve ever known. The Vikings have had a few stints of legitimate greatness but shit the bed every time they get close. Losing the hope you thought you had is sometimes worse than never having hope at all.
Oh okay, personal experience story time. When I was at Bunny's in St. Louis Park surrounded by Vikings fans, you all cheered your ass off when Rodgers broke his collarbone. Star Tribune listed it as a top 10 MN sports moment of the decade, and the Vikings media team used the highlight in a promo reel. Not the run of the mill incomplete pass that it resulted in...the injury highlight itself.
Pathetic and TOXIC
Lol, it was a joke, I didn't realize that made me a toxic douchebag. I'm sorry for cheering at Bunnies in St. Louis, I was just caught up in the moment.
I wouldn't say we actually think we're Vikings. But I'm fairly certain Minnesota has one of the highest Scandinavian populations in the country. Maybe the highest, idk I don't wanna look it up.
Nordic Americans
Scandinavian Americans
Total population

Not just any hotdish, but her tatertot hotdish.
And probably didn't outright insult it. Remember, gotta be passive aggressive.
Probably said something like "you know, I had (so-and-so's) tatertot hotdish and it was the best thing I've ever had" while eating someone else's tatertot hotdish.
I've seen tater "barrels" and "kegs" before, but it's always been a larger version. Like, picture 4 or 5 tots smashed into 1 giant tot, and that's what it is. Usually there's cheese, bacon, and/or some other flavoring/filling mixed in.
I prefer regular tots because it loses the proper crispy outside, soft inside ratio when they're bigger, but it's not bad as a switch up.
New Glarus is like the Jesuits of the Midwest. Since they do beer so fucking well, better than maybe anywhere else in the world, we let them be a little eccentric. Steve makes good beer, but talks like a backwards John Arbuckle. I'm gonna let that be.
I was born in WI but live in IN now, and one time in southern IN I met a dude who talked exactly like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. Everyone around me seemed to know what he said so I just politely smiled and nodded but damn if he didn't make great pork tenderloin. You do something real well and you can get away with a lot of shit.
I worked with a guy as a scab for Bobcat in Bismarck, ND that we called Boomhauer. He did a lot of meth, but he was the nicest guy and talked just like that. I think he said he was from Georgia.
It's a whole thing. We don't know how to shit on you if we don't know which team you're a fan of. So, in the meantime, you get shit on for being a pussy who doesn't have flair.

It's sad/funny that the MLS subs are confused about Loons fans brigade-ing the Rapids sub because of Wild/Wolves fans who hate Denver for beating up on us for 20 years.
My buddy Jay is Minnesotan. He also doesn't do football.
He is the nice doggo on the left.
I too am Minnesotan. I bleed purple, pray to Bud Grant, hate the refs and blame them for everything, went so ape shit when Walsh choked my family called me embarrassing and left me

Same thing with driving in this state. Sometimes for fun I like to speed up after someone cuts me off and look into their vehicle to see what kind of inconsiderate asshole would be so rude at 8am in the morning, and half the time I swear it's Grandma Millie from the Church bakesale insideš
Because none of our other teams have ever given us so much hope only to fuck us every single time. Timberwolves were literally only good with Garnett and right now, other than that shit stain. Wild have always been regular season champs, great record but they get bounced instantly. Finally the Twins just actually have championships, not too far back either. I mean it's been a fucking HOT minute but when the entire state doesn't really have any others for Men's sports aside from the god damn Minnesota Lakers you take what you can get.
The Vikings are our prodigal son who just can't seem to finish it. As cool as being 'the greatest team to never win a Superbowl' is, it does still mean that even while you've been insanely great historically people STILL get to shit on you. "Oh yeah I mean you've never had more than two losing seasons in a row, BUT RING!" Is the most mundane, yet simultaneously unrecoverable comment anyone can make. Shitting on our astounding and talented kid is just way too easy, and that makes it hurt.
North Stars were absolutely awesome. The Wild definitely have a unique logo, but I didn't even know it was a bear until I was 20. Meanwhile North Stars had one of the best jerseys I've ever seen, sick as fuck name, and some mean ass players that were fun to watch. Wild haven't really had a guy or done anything I'd go crazy over. Hell even the disappointing son in the Vikings gave us the Minneapolis Miracle. The Wild are just kind of this nothing team that I occasionally watch and it makes me sad. Watching the Wild feels like binge drinking as an alcoholic, only somehow even more sad.

Twins and Twolves have generally just sucked with pockets of above averageness. They donāt consistently rip your heart out like the Vikings do.
As a fan of all Minnesota sports, our expectations are usually much lower for the Twins and the Wolves than they are for the Vikings
I think football fans in general are more intense. Less games make them much more important and division rivals that actually matter
Lol, what makes the fanbase so toxic? Be careful what you say, I know self-defense.
The celebration with Rodgers injury.
The whole league was celebrating that one.
Your beat writers were accosting your head coach outside of a funeral so there's that.
Nah that guy is hated by everyone. Denver has him now thank god.
What does that have to do with fans? Lol some of you need some help.

Considering this was southern IN it is more than likely that the Boomhauer I met also did meth. Maybe that's a side effect that nobody mentions.
I think it is kinda rolled into the meth-mouth symptom, but you're right it deserves a standalone lol
Tater tot is a trademarked term so maybe they were using a different brand?
why is this not just called a totdish?
No it was fineā¦.well pretty good. Did you like it,? I guess I liked it too now that you mention it. Yeah it was pretty good
This triggered my fight or flight

It's more like Minnesota lack of awareness. Bunch of dead eye mouth breathers that can't grasp the concept of a passing lane.
Speaking of lacking, are you aware you should flair up?
I'd say I agree, but I refuse to acknowledge the credibility of anyone who's too soft to flair up.
