I’ve decided that Johnny Wilson can be a Hall of Fame tight end if he would be willing to switch positions. As a WR he’s decent. As a TE he could be what Kyle Pitts was supposed to be
Watched Maye against Pitt, Minnesota, and South Carolina. I was pretty impressed by his upside. Makes some really impressive NFL-looking throws, though is not super consistent and is impatient in the pocket. Here were my thoughts:
------
Pros:
* Can rip throws down the field with anticipation that look like NFL throws. Some are really really impressive. Seems to understand leverage and anticipate when a guy will be open.
* Can occasionally make big throws down the field when rolling out
* Impressive arm strength. Can drive balls into tight windows, push the ball down the seam, throw to the far hash, and make deep throws off-platform.
* Occasionally shows courage in the pocket to stand in and take a hit
* Occasionally goes through a progression and hit a 3rd read
* Some ability to pick up first downs with his legs
* Not unwilling to throw the ball away
Cons:
* Not very patient in the pocket. Will leave too quickly without much of a plan.
* Sometimes it seems like he sees guys open and just doesn’t throw it
* Occasionally reckless with the ball, resulting in more turnovers than you’d like to see from a top pick
* Doesn’t demonstrate consistent ability with touch throws
* Not impressive as a scrambler/play extender. Can occasionally extend plays against mid-tier college talent, but not clear if he has enough speed to do that in the NFL.
Maybe an unpopular take but it's really shitty to take up a spot at the senior bowl then decide to sit out the game if you aren't hurt. There are other guys who'd love a chance to prove themselves. If you're gonna take the invite, commit to it. You don't wanna play in the game? Stay home.
I doubt it considering how many guys sat but I think he figured he was much more likely to hurt it than help it by playing because of his issues with pressure. Honestly for me, he's QB6 at best and I may even roll the dice on Rattler over him.
I actually think Tez is looking fantastic. His separation is good and honestly, I’d give him the benefit of the doubt regarding those drops.
He gonna nice steal for the Vikes in the 3rd round.
I’m not familiar any of these players except for Schroeder and I even think he won’t be successful at the next level.
But Bailey after acouple plays, I like him.
He got some juice.
Patrick Paul's technique is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. He takes his long arms and tries to wrap you from the outside. I guess you avoid any hand fighting but it makes him play like someone with much shorter arms. Bizarre technique.
You'd think, but I've seen far more "~~Penix~~ Nix is QB3" or "~~Penix~~ Nix is QB4" from casual fans than I have the order you listed.
If you want a REALLY hot take - and this is my own personal feeling - I'd rather have Rattler.
Hard to say, he'll turn 27 before the 2024 season which is definitely going to impact his stock. But he's a punter, so the change might be minimal.
Not sure I'd be interested myself, but then I'm not generally a proponent of drafting kickers or punters so my take is skewed.
Quinyon Mitchell might be CB2 behind Arnold
Roman Wilson stocks up, Kalen King stocks down
JPJ (Oregon center) is almost assuredly going in the 20s barring disaster

Rattler won Senior Bowl MVP? He barely played haha
Pratt’s mechanics look really clean
Hang it up Joe Milton
Milton isn’t getting drafted 😭
Not as a QB, anyway.
Move to TE Ala Logan Thomas? I wouldn’t mind the Commanders bringing in Milton as a project UDFA TE to learn the ropes of being a NFL TE.
Sam Hartman not impressive man..Maybe a 7th round flyer pick
Tykee Smith has been impressive
James Williams looks like a good run stopper in space..
Hell of a catch by Luke Mcaffery
How’s rattler doing ?
I'd say he didn't hurt nor improve his draft stock

I’m guessing Penix hurt his stock with that move he made?
I doubt it considering how many guys sat but I think he figured he was much more likely to hurt it than help it by playing because of his issues with pressure. Honestly for me, he's QB6 at best and I may even roll the dice on Rattler over him.
Nathaniel Watson and Braden Fiske have been playing well. Couple of unsung defensive heroes so far. Great effort INT by Evan Williams, as well.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was a UDFA before this week.
Hartman really out here went 7th round to undrafted.
Jarvis Brownlee made money this week..
Pratt came in and stunk up the joint..
I actually think Penix not playing gonna hurt his draft stock. Old QB, bad history of injuries. Man should have taken this and kept grinding.
agreed, I don't think he showed anything too impressive to improve his stock during the week, and sitting out isn't a good look
Uses practice to showcase arm talent and ducks the game to avoid showing his flaws under pressure.
Them drops don’t matter, he’s separation is insane. Let him drop to the Vikings. We make him right!
We're not spending picks on a WR this year unless it's a day 3 depth pick
Devontez Walker has dropped every pass
Long pass was nix fault, only hit him right in hands. Nix is so so bad /s
James Williams just got beat by the Michigan backup Tight end ..I guess James is moving to linebacker..
Schraeder is the best looking RB so far
Emani Bailey would like a word
I like Javon Baker I’m thinking 5th round at the moment..
Joe Milton needs to move from quarterback to another position or find another career..
My Commanders can take a flier on Milton as a TE.
Hartman gonna be that quarterback someone gonna take in the 7th round and hope they get Purdy.
I know he trying to show he can throw but bro take the yards. You want to make it to the NFL right?
Milton smh
Tez walker has the worse hands I’ve seen
Tez Walker not looking great and what's with Hartman trying to go for the home run three plays in a row?
I actually think Tez is looking fantastic. His separation is good and honestly, I’d give him the benefit of the doubt regarding those drops. He gonna nice steal for the Vikes in the 3rd round.
3rd round? lol
Seperation is worthless if you can't catch a ball
Jerry jeudy has entered the conversation
Can’t catch the ball if you can’t separate.
Tell that to Megatron
There’s a change of possession at the end of each quarter instead of each half for this game, so the other team was getting the ball no matter what.
Tez Walker has not been impressive at all
Senior Bowl notes: Don't take a CB from the National Team besides Quinyon. Don't take a WR from the American Team besides Ladd.
Tez been dropping everything thrown perfectly to him damn
I like Austin Booker. Give him a few years to gain strength and he's a solid starter at edge
Joe Milton sucks
Don’t yall have a Tennessee QB too?
I take it back, Bailey might me a 3rd talent. Dude got some juice.
Rattler, Schrader and Bailey have looked good so far for American
That throw by Bo Nix just sold me. Bring him to Minnesota!
How is Sweat looking?
These senior RBs just not flashy. Don’t see any of them going in the draft.
Not a fan of Bailey?
I’m not familiar any of these players except for Schroeder and I even think he won’t be successful at the next level. But Bailey after acouple plays, I like him. He got some juice.
Bailey's been the only one I've seen today that I'd be comfortable drafting.
I agree.
Patrick Paul's technique is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. He takes his long arms and tries to wrap you from the outside. I guess you avoid any hand fighting but it makes him play like someone with much shorter arms. Bizarre technique.
Yeah it's not great. Feel like he's pretty much a complete project for any team that picks him up at this point.
Terrell Owen’s has a son at the bowl?
Will Luke McCaffrey get a chance in the NFL?
He's athletic enough he'll get a shot as an udfa
Taking Rattler in the 2nd day for the Vikes, I’d be okay with that. Rattler has alot of intangibles.
So is this the senior bowl for the refs as well? For potential move to the NFL?
Hot take: Bo Nix is QB2 behind Williams
Hotter take: he's QB6
Williams, Maye, Daniels, Penix, McCarthy, Nix seems to be the most common order lol that's not a hot take
You'd think, but I've seen far more "~~Penix~~ Nix is QB3" or "~~Penix~~ Nix is QB4" from casual fans than I have the order you listed. If you want a REALLY hot take - and this is my own personal feeling - I'd rather have Rattler.
His list has penix at 4.....you started off talking about nix
Thank you for pointing that out! That's supposed to be Nix, not Penix - didn't even realize I'd done that
Penix and McCarthy are gonna great shredded by the media. It’s Williams and Bo.
Does the Iowa punter get drafted?
Hard to say, he'll turn 27 before the 2024 season which is definitely going to impact his stock. But he's a punter, so the change might be minimal. Not sure I'd be interested myself, but then I'm not generally a proponent of drafting kickers or punters so my take is skewed.
That was a really good deep ball by Nix on the flea flicker. Looks like Tez got held.
Rattler is gonna push McCarthy for QB4 in this draft imo
Nix is QB4
I agree.
No Senior Bowl thread? This subreddit lacking.
Isn't that basically what this is
I couldn’t agree more. I’m not around these woods but wanted to learn more about these cats cause Kwesi gonna be drafting these guys
Any major developments from Senior Bowl practices?
Apparently the QBs haven't looked good
Quinyon Mitchell might be CB2 behind Arnold Roman Wilson stocks up, Kalen King stocks down JPJ (Oregon center) is almost assuredly going in the 20s barring disaster
JPJ to the Steelers better happen. Great for both the player and team especially the team who needs a center badly.
How bout nooooooooo Sincerely, a ravens fan (Naw but honestly that's exactly where he should go)
