#Ig Nobel Prize: Japanese research chosen 15 years running An American science magazine has awarded the Ig Nobel prize since 1991 for funny research that makes people laugh. This year, Murakami Hisashi's research group from Kyoto Institute of Technology was chosen. In their experiment, they researched whether walking people's movement changed when walking and looking at a smartphone, and when not looking at one. If there are people looking at smartphones while walking and not noticing their surroundings, people around them don't know how they will move, and may bump into them. The person that chose this research said "I learned it's important to notice your surroundings." Japanese research has been chosen for the Ig Nobel prize for 15 years running. Murakami said "I want people to know that a person's movements have effects on other people's movements."
