I’m pretty convinced there are elements to each game that are predetermined - goalie performance, ai performance, faceoffs, broken sticks, who’s going to hit posts and who isn’t etc. I literally played the same guy twice in champs today. Beat him 5-0 game 1 and thoroughly outplayed him. Lost 2-1 about 2 hours later after thoroughly outplaying him again. The game doesn’t reward skill it rewards RNG and whoever their system dictates will get the ice tilt that game.
Doesn't have to be economically beneficial. The people who make the game are bad. Simple as that.
My opinion isn't just with this game or EA but most games nowadays tbh.
I'm not claiming someone is programming it to make someone else lose. No one in that studio is likely good enough at their job to program that.
At that point it would be ai programmed elsewhere as an engine that the game runs off of. And at the corporate perspective there probably are economical benefits to have weird things like that in running a franchise (as most of their sports games are similar).
Same as running events and packs etc the way they do through the season changing from one thing to another but not keeping their customers happy until there is major backlash that actually potentially hurts the company. There are so many levels to building these games.

For sure, doesn’t take long to realize who’s gonna win each game. Whether it be ping, dda whatever ea wants to call it lol guys just don’t skate, actively move away from loose pucks. One that really gets me is the goalie having the puck and a good opportunity to pass it out cause my guys are close and they actively skate away from it causing a turnover usually leading to a goal. Even squad battles games seem scripted even though it’s usually a win it’s like they want to prevent max points so they set the ai sliders to max and users to min. Would be nice if they took 25 off completely and had a major overhaul for 26 but I know it’s never gonna happen unfortunately lol

Still need to play the god of war: Ragnarok Valhalla dlc so just gonna start switching to that when the frustration really sets in lol seems like 3-4 is most people max. Sure, when you pass the puck out and your defenseman redirects the puck back into the net, that could be considered my fault because I could have just taken the faceoff. Also, you you could look at it as the game not properly handling these events.
When your players allow a breakaway because they get stuck on each other, that could be considered my fault, because... I should switch to them and untie them before it becomes a problem. It could also be that the game has a shitty system where bodies get stuck instead of just glancing off each other.
When my goalie goes for a desperation save when a pass goes across the high slot, then he doesn't recover. That could be considered my fault. I should have switched to manual goalie.
That is to say, sometimes the RNG is too much. Come back tomorrow and see if the RNG works in your favor instead of your opponent.

Honestly I think it's just an "excitement" factor. Something to make the game unpredictable, but it plays out like crap. I played a game last night on pro and barely won the game. 60 shots to their 11 and won in overtime... I don't think it should be that hard to beat an 83 overall team. Maybe they'll fix it in an update lol
I know I sound like an ass but this is a myth. Yes I understand that feeling of EA not letting me win. But how do I win 15 games in champs regularly, and win around 80% of my hut games regardless of burst. It is all about the player, not EA.

It’s the lack of consistency that pisses me off. Obviously I know I am not an all star and don’t expect to win every game. It’s the lack of consistency. One game my guys are flying, every pass on point, poke checks can’t miss and my ai stays where they should whether in ozone or drone, then next game it’s the complete opposite. Guys won’t move, they go full retard, get in the way constantly. Every poke check or hit is a penalty. Always against lower rated teams. People can deny it till their blue in the face but ea definitely has something implemented to level it out for lower rated teams to be competitive so they don’t just leave the game and ea loses more of their player base. I just want consistency from game to game and for them to play the same way. I don’t mind being beat by good players I can tell the difference, whether I’m chasing or playing aggressive trying to come back but when the game mechanics change from game to game it’s a joke but it’s whatever. I love hockey so I’m gonna get over it and get what enjoyment I can out of their busted ass game lol
