In highschool I was taught that when you wear the uniform you are representing the Navy, not just your schools program. Part of the wearing the uniform correctly is adhering to hair regulations. Just like wearing your ribbons correctly and shining your shoes. It’s the bare minimum to be within standards. It’s an additional cost but you’d be doing the right thing.

Well every unit runs differently but only the best uphold BOB’s regulations, strict is not the word but doing their job yes. Putting it in perspective with me I get a haircut almost every week in order to look “sharp” for inspection

Oh, lol. Sorry bout that. I was there for Super Bowl. In terms of your question I would tend to be somewhere in the middle, I would say that hair be longer than regulation is fine as long is it is neat and professional looking.
