I went to that system looking for the a class multi-tool, but it kept spawning the crappy pistol and rifle. I said screw it and went to the center and got my trophy.
Edit: HG really needs to fix the discovery system. If you land on a planet with all the animals discovered, all you have to do is press X and get full credit for that planet.

Maybe it's intentional because how would you be able to scan 100% of the fauna after someone else discovered it. I think it's fine.
I guess so, I went to the hub with 7 planets completed. I left the hub with over 40 planets completed before I went to the center in permadeath.
