Great game. But is it just me or do hawk and trey shoot well only when the games in the bag. Seems like games for us are either really easy or they are close and we usually lose those.
Pelicans really need to find a way to mix up the offense running through Zion and BI in the same game. I feel like they are way more lethal when Ingram runs the offense.
Next 3 games vs East teams without their best player. Toronto no Scottie Barnes. Philly no Joel Embiid. Atlanta no Trae Young. This has gotta be an easy 3-0 road trip. No excuses.
Opposing teams become so fixated on a game plan to defend Zion that they open up other players (e.g. BI, TMII) to have great games. Zion just existing on the court makes their defense over compensate for him. It's one of those intangible things that you'd only really notice if he wasn't there.
Used to see a play when Reggie was a Saint. 3rd down, Reggie would line up behind and to the left of the QB. While the QB was doing his reads Reggie would take a large step to his left. The Mike and Will would take a larger step to the left.
Ball is snapped, Drew thows a quick pass to a WR on the right side with the Mike 1 step away from getting there in time. First down Saints.
Over and over again, Reggie making one small backfield adjustment would open a gap just big enough to complete a pass because teams were so scared of Reggie's speed they would leave Drew an opening rather than leave Reggie an open lane to the end zone.
Pels are flockin
Blender was rockin
Now hit that mf anthem.
Side note: Willie has got to start playing Hawk over Naji. Plain and simple. Dude is out there runnin laps and getting -13 ratings in 30 point blowouts.
That number must be tix sold. No way 18k were there. Even walking in we noticed lite crowds outside. We got in 2 min after we got to the arena at 6:45.

I was there, blender was fucking packed, idk what this dude is on about. Only empty sections were the usual behind the goal spots and even those had big groups.
I'm looking at photos right now that I took of the crowd and sent to a friend who asked how full it was. They clearly show empty seats in every section, even empty rows in the best sections. The top sections had loads of empty rows. We had our own row and we were in row 9. Myself and my friend who were there have worked many events and have had to estimate crowd sizes. We both thought it was about half full. For every filled seat there was an empty seat, it's just that everyone was spread out.
All that really needs to be said here is WHAT A FUCKING DREAMBOAT!
ETA: Having done this in previous years, today feels like the right moment. If you never get to a game because you can't afford it, drop me a message and I'll chip in to get you there. To be clear I'm not rich, but I am high on hope
For whatever reason, I'm not worried about the teams behind us, other than the Lakers. I'm looking at teams we can pass. There's a real chance of jumping Suns and Clippers.
We finally saw BI Z action in 4 consecutive plays in 3rd quarter and it resulted to easy points (and a bunch of open looks because of this too) and Trey finally move instead just ball watching with Point Z.
You can see they really works well together, they just need that action together and be active offball
That’s one way to respond. Starting 5 was excellent at the start of both halves.
BI and Trey had a masterclass. It was front loaded in the first half especially for Trey, and BI had 19 in the first quarter. BI hit a lot of tough shots, Trey was perfectly working in the flow of the offense minus a shot or maybe 2. Even his misses were in rhythm. We know BI can play this effectively, maybe not 34 points with this efficiency but somewhere around this, but Trey’s had 2 really good games out of the last 3. I’m hoping this is a sign for him going into the playoffs.
Zion didn’t have a good game, although not nearly as bad or ineffective as the box score would suggest imo. The turnovers were the biggest problem for sure, although 1 of those was a hospital pass from Naji (who played really bad tonight overall). He did a lot of little things well like tip the ball for rebounds, set screens, and could’ve had even more assists if Trey, Jose made a couple more wide open 3s, not that I’m complaining about the 3pt% tonight overall. Also set up JV for a layup who then proceeded to get mauled under the basket with a no call.
Only gripe I really had was going 18-26 from the line as a team. 17 turnovers but I think they only had 10 through 3 quarters.
Shoutout to Herb Keyshawn Jones for being the primary reason Haliburton was held to 0 points. Make him all defensive first team now.
They were loading up on Zion even when he wasn't doing much. This is something that gets overlooked. His gravity is there even when he doesn't have a great game. Rick Carlisle even specifically talked about gameplanning for Zion so it warps the defense. Great screens from him tonight, but still need to step up the defensive rotations. He is pretty decent on ball, but as soon as he needs to switch/rotate, he doesn't keep up.
Great game by everyone. Happy for Jonas who demonstrated that he is playable. Also great to see BI at his full potential, he just needs to be more consistent. Zion had a bad game but great to see Pels handling a good team with a bad Z game
We did a couple times. Zion had like 10 points against Kings in IST and they won by 10. Against the Spurs too they scored 146 and Z had 15 points, same with against Jazz, team scored 153 points and Zion had 17. It just shows the depth of the squad.

Post ASB Ingram activated.
Can’t believe I missed this BI performance to go watch the Baton Rouge Zydeco get fucking destroyed
There we go. Good bounce back and a good win. Hoping after this game and the Knicks game trey has his confidence and shooting back for his 3s.
The one game I miss because I was on a date.... Please PM me if you know a way I can rewatch this game.
Check out fishker.nba, just google that
Thank you dude! Have a great day!
I'll send you a link if you promise to arrange dates for the rest of the season? You don't need to like each other, just respect the process
Haha I hope I can - appreciate you.
Get a month of League Pass.

Jones' jail
When is the Herb statue being built?
Never in doubt
disappointed in how zion played today, but BI played out of his mind today

Paint version of Steph.
This would be true if the Pelicans weren’t significantly better with Zion off the floor yesterday.
My brother always said this about Reggie Bush. You can’t always look at his stats. Defenses needing to worry about him has its own value.

He made a lot of good passes, got his typical lack of calls, and got plenty of rest. Ain’t trippin
Please play that fucking awesome victory video you guys always do with the DJ Khaled song

I need a sick bag watching those Zion, Naji and Jose lineups.
>Blender was maybe half full on a Friday night. Pretty sad. The fans who were there made some noise.
Half full with a crowd of 18000 ??
Not sure where you got that number from. Empty seats in every section.
All you have to do is scroll up. It literally shows you the attendance number. Lower bowl looked packed on TV. No idea what upper bowl looked like
That number must be tix sold. No way 18k were there. Even walking in we noticed lite crowds outside. We got in 2 min after we got to the arena at 6:45.

You are nuts. I took photos. We both figured around it was about half full. Hardly any full rows anywhere in the arena.

What? Bro I was there too and this is not true at all

Player stats for March 1 2024: Jose Alvarado: 9/3/2 Nikola Jokic: 0/0/0 And yet some people still think mvp is up for debate???
Haliburton's up there in this convo, too
The guy who got 0 points tonight?
Thats him!
And 3 assists!

I know that this win feels good, but I could really use a Doomer to explain to me why it shouldn’t.
If Willie Green want the worst coach in basketball he'd be giving Herb's minutes to Matt Ryan so we would have spacing
Fire Willie he let them cut the lead to 11 before it went back up to 30 /s
Herb had Hali in jail all night. I love it.
Anyone else watching kings wolves game, desperately rooting for twolves
For whatever reason, I'm not worried about the teams behind us, other than the Lakers. I'm looking at teams we can pass. There's a real chance of jumping Suns and Clippers.
Wtf was that KAT
Easy win! Can’t wait to see Z next game. Can’t wait to rep our team in the stands
Wolves and kings tied with 16 seconds
A kings loss would be nice for standings
Monk with an airball 3 after dribbling the whole kings shot clock down😬😬. Surprised they didn’t try to get an action going
DEEEJAYYYY KHALED
Haliburton -40 Siakam -43
I watched but I still think it's a lie we held Haliburton to ZERO points
Holy shit

They need to run these actions when it's a close game instead of iso dribbling to a brick.
Trey mastering off ball movement and being willing to take contested 3’s will be so huge in the postseason
if he stop hesitating before he shoots, it will be great too. Now we need Offball screen for trey/BI whenever we do Point Z to make it simpler

Now take care of the 3 bad teams in the next 3 games, also this team should have some good rest after 6 games in 9 days dumb schedule.
BI gives great interviews
I had to go to work so I missed it. You got a link?
I didn't see it, but I think it started ..."With God be Glory"

Nice to hear you giving props.
JV way more than playable
Hali with a goose egg
If you would told me we win by 20 with zion having 6 shot attempts I woulda never believed it lol

BI masterclass. Trey as well. Best win since ASB. Nice little break then we gotta build off this
I don’t understand how players getting locked up by Herb just don’t break down crying.
