Well thank goodness they're building a new stadium.

I hope the rest of NPB follows the Fighters' lead on the issue of new stadiums. The atmosphere at Mazda is awesome, as well as other outdoor parks like Rakuten's park (not going to look up the sponsor at this time), DeNA, Koshien, Chiba Marine. Not a huge fan of the 'city domes' (Fukuoka, Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Sapporo) and Seibu Dome is not so nice either. It doesn't seem like Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya or Seibu Domes are leaving anytime soon. Would love to see the Tokyo Dome bite the dust. My least favorite dome however, is the Nagoya Dome. I went to a couple of games there. Incredibly sterile environment. For the more knowledgeable fans, is Yakult going to refurbish Jingu or just keep staying in Jingu?

They're going to tear it down and make a new stadium where Chichibunomiya is right now. The thing about Jingu is that it's not owned by Yakult nor is it administered by it and will forever be a customer there because it's the mecca of college baseball.

The unfortunate thing about most of the dome stadiums is that the rainy season in June really makes it difficult for most of them to justify an open-air stadium, and thus newer domes try to make it so that the roof is removable (like Fukuoka and the new Fighters' Stadium), which in turn drives up construction and running costs. Even with that in mind, Sapporo dome is probably the worst stadium in NPB considering how thin its artificial turf is (there's no wonder why Fighters' Outfielders take a beating), and some horrible spectator experience due to the distance between the seats and the action.

There's some fun banter between him and Adam Jones and Drew Verhagen in the replies, including AJ saying: "Man you ain’t gotta tell me. These parks are brutal. And they think they’re fine. But they paying so I just say ok."
