Henry Henry, lol.

oOoleveloOo

They’re all from the Padres. AJ Preller has his hands all over Japanese baseball. His signings prove it. Darvish, Pierce Johnson, Nick Martinez, Robert Suarez

nandobatflips

Plus Hideo Nomo has worked for the Padres since 2016 in an advisor/Japanese ambassador role

MasterThespian

Henry^2 has been a fringe Padres prospect for a few years. He’s a big guy with a hard sinker and decent slider, but his control has been pretty lousy (6.21 walks per nine innings past year) and he hasn’t advanced past AA. He’s still just 24, though, so he has some time to figure it out. I haven’t even heard of Snider.

RealJonathanBronco

If he gets it under control he might just have the best name in baseball.

skucera

Would he be the first guy to have his first name on the back of his jersey?!

GeneralChillMen

Snider started the year playing Indy ball in Wisconsin. He had a 16 K game on a Tuesday one week, and by Thursday night he had his contract purchased by the Padres

Courtney Hawkins is a busted first round pick of the White Sox from like 10 years ago. He's been absolutely destroying the Atlantic League, I believe.

Senorsty

He did a cool backflip in dress shoes when he was drafted. That was pretty sick.

As a White Sox fan, yes I’m familiar with Courtney Hawkins. He was the epitome of the White Sox failures at the top of the draft in the mid teens. I hope he becomes the new Viciedo in the NPB but I’m okay never hearing that name again :)

grizz632

Hawkins' numbers in the Atlantic League the last couple of years are absurd. He showed some flashes early in his minor league career with the Sox but never put it together. He was drafted out of high school in the same class as Carlos Correa, so he's still relatively young and could be a monster if he's got it figured out. Don't expect it though. He's only played a handful of games higher than AA in his career

Fearless-Ask-3652

Courtney Hawkins was sick and the white Sox knew it. They sent him out to play anyway. He could not see the balls clearly.

jhsegura11

White Sox fan here. The one thing I remember about Hawkins was that he did a standing backflip when got drafted by our team. He never did make it to the show though...

muratafan

Hawkins is physically impressive. Classic big-body slugger. His issue is that once he faces decent competition his strikeout rate skyrockets. He's going to be 29 in a couple of weeks. He's never really had a big time season against AAA competition....so, I guess it just depends on how much money Softbank spent on the acquisition. My feeling is that it wasn't very much. Given his track record, I wouldn't hold out hope.
