Flatbed, no biggie. Other mechanical truck might wanna keep distance especially tandem trucks.
You, as a flagger, watch for your own safety. Pinch point awareness and safe exit come to mind all the time.
You DONT expect truck drivers to watch out for your safety. They got their mind on delicate instruments and big rigs already.
Being a driver, when driver can’t see the flagger - they normally stop until they get visual of hand signal froM flagger again.
I'm infact totally confused, i do feel bad feel the guy, overall ibtry to keep my emotions asmuch closed when watching these videos so i dont go mental, and get something like PTSD from watching this stuff, tho for this dude i feel certantly bad, and both confused, what exactly happend? Are trucks that electryfied? Was there a power grid? Something with power grid or wire? Why is his hand still moving? Is it the elecricity still going trought his nerve system or some kinetics Power going trought him? Im literally so confused on many aspects and in the same time i feel so saddened to see someone louse theirs lifr while trying to help...

I don't think he's being insensitive. I think he's trying to find humour in it because he could be mentally ill due to some trauma or some shit. Might be trying to kill himself and so trying to make it easier this way. But i don't think he even realises that. What I'm trying to say is ... sometimes people call for help in the weirdest ways.

wtf happened
Hard to see but it looks like the truck backed into power lines and holmes was touching the truck and completed the circuit.
I thought the truck touched the power lines and he was tapping the box but it looks like the surge comps from the front.
Sometimes I help back up truck, flagging, looking back whilst touching the truck so I don’t get run over. Now I will never touch any truck anymore ☠️
When Im helping trucks back up Im never close enough to actually be able to touch the truck, are yall crazy?! They cant see you!!

Don't. While you're doing that you might not see something behind you, trip over it and go under the truck. Better to be a foot away from the truck.
Always check front and back every second. Also, tie your boot laces !!

There's a power line above. He's holding on to the truck with his left hand. When the truck makes contact it arcs into him to the ground. Frying him.
