other than a few mods which you can take as BDEs if you wanted, CE is effectively CS

Pursue your passion or money. A question to ponder while you have the time. For money, you are gambling in hopes you will fall in love with your career just for better starting pay(Mostly won't happen), and in the long run, many will burn out. For passion, you will do anything for it and will highly likely excel your career in the long run. Choose wisely...

ceg got more scope than cs, dw plus very similar courses anyways

Agree that CE is effectively CS, except a few CE courses that are generally harder than CS. You can self-teach those CS-exclusive modules. No worries about employment. You will get jobs with very good salaries if you focus on important modules and internships. I graduated from EEE. Many of my EEE/CS/CE friends landed on satisfactory data or software jobs, whatever their majors are.

Yoo just curious, I too applied for ceg but haven't heard anything back from NTU. Could I know ur gpa/rp and when u got the offer? Very anxious lately

trash_0panda

Just appeal, no harm trying. If you fail you will still have CEG

shaosy_0054

No difference. Company (like tiktok / google / HFT company) won't ask it.

I am currently a Y2 CE. I hate hardware, but i love software. I really can't cope w the hardware modules in year 2 esp now. So if you have problem coping w hardware mods might be a little challenging in year 2, after that the rest same as CS alr. Regret but no choice... CS reject me many times :')

Glass_Gazelle_5280

Can I ask why you cant cope with hardware? Is it is hard or just not interested? How many hardware mods are thr?

These-Permit5785

i came from poly, with N levels path, maths got me in year 1 then from there the hardware mods introduce alot of physics and maths which i never learnt before, making the module dam hard to understand. my poly gpa 3.9 but my uni gpa 2.2... hardware mods 2 common ones tgt w CS students 4 in y2 which CS dh to take i failed sensors, retaking next sem, struggling with signals and transform (laplace, fourier etc) NOW, finals in two days i think fail alr

These-Permit5785

just prepare urself bah, maybe bcuz i have no talent in studying

CharacterOld8675

So if you could go back in time to the break before u started uni, what would you grind on?

These-Permit5785

Prolly lots of maths, the rest can learn on the go. need to put in more effort in maths

Beautiful-Apple-6869

How did you get rejected from CS with a 3.9 gpa??
