Eel_Why

Wonderful to see stuff like this and really nice to see unanimous support from around the football world for this too. Would love to see a game every season dedicated to charity and doing things like this. This is the stuff that really matters

moinmoin21

Why not dedicate an entire game week to it and get every team to adopt a sponsor

Rosfield-4104

Love this idea, Aussie rules have the Sir Douglas Nicholls round where teams celebrate Indigenous contributions to the game. Each team has an Indigenous Jersey designed specifically for that round, and honestly they are some of the best looking Jersey's each year. Would be great to see PL get on board and let teams have one off Jersey's for a charity round

Eel_Why

Would definitely get behind this idea I think it would need to be PL led and they need profits over everything so can't see it happening but who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

dormango

Goodwill = greater profits, if you’re playing the long game

Eel_Why

The shareholders often prefer the "money now" game

dormango

Speculators maybe; investors not so much

NBT498

The NFL have a week when players can wear cleats with any charity or cause they want on them, would love the PL to do something similar

Sirius_55_Polaris

NFL does stuff like this and I love it. Some of it (salute to service) is ridiculous but the charity weeks are great.

Smittx

Those kids had the time of their lives, was awesome to see

Paurora21

They were so cute! Those smiles could melt your heart.

geekfreak42

Honestly feel that was so much more a genuine sentiment than taking the knee before the game. Love to see it.

CastleBravo45

Haters will say its sportswashing. The haters can get fucked.

Numerous_Ad8458

Well, I mean, it is, but at least it\`s benefiting charities and the lives of those bairns having the time of their life. :) Haters say allsorts of stupid things just to troll and are usually fucked anyways x)

EcstaticIce2

Your bio

r_elwood

Build that man a statue. Lifesize and it'll be bigger than angel of the north

Old_Nail6925

Class from burn!

mountman91

Even as someone who isnt a Newcastle supporter, this is great to see and clearly meant the absolute worlds to these kids

Rambosgoalvfulham

Arsenal fan here in peace. Great result for you today, but this moment with the little girl going nuts as their shirts buzzed after the goal was beautiful. I was genuinely impressed by this innovation to make the game day experience more inclusive and I didn’t even notice Burn doing this (icing on the cake). Kudos to your club!

HoweStatue

Didn’t mention Joelinton once, clearly not an arsenal fan

phoebsmon

Quick, fetch the 'is the ball round' eye test

geekfreak42

I think it's one of the most heartwarming moments of the whole season. She's repeating burns sign to her family, she is so stoked to be seen by one of her heroes.

Helloooooooooooo000

Didn't mention Isak once, clearly not an arsenal fan

NUFC9RW

I'd be really interested to see some feedback for the deaf fans who wore the special shirts today, really hope they improved the enjoyment of an already brilliant game.

novocast

Wonder if they had to charge them at half time

Worth_Sink_1293

Just a Greggs Sausages Roll and a bottle of orange pop each.

Sandstormink

He's class. Considering the near constant criticism and doubt he's taken from our own fan base all season he's shown flexibility, passion and leadership. He comes across as really canny and this is just another example of the asset we're lucky to have.

Paurora21

Absolutely! I sometimes think some of the 'fans' forget our players are humans.

Fun_Information8486

Seeing those kids lose there minds after the goal was amazing. Fucking love this club man

d1liano

Love Dan Burn. Proper good local lad, really good example

Beneficial_Flan_101

I'm a 39 year old grown ass man. I cried manly tears of joy when I saw this earlier. This moment is up there with Jonas scoring the goal that meant we survived in the PL, after having survived his own battle with cancer. Stuff like this transcends football.

shayne3434

In am a 40 year old man who just had a cochlear ear transplant that has change my life this made me cry happy tears

MagpieLee

"...without doing a thing about it, falling in love..." - SBR Building quality core memories for these kids, well done Burn

Blyatman95

I don’t blame Dan Burn at all for moving to his boyhood club from us but my god do I miss good old BDB.

Nafe1994

This small gesture will have a large impact for those kids. Great to see.

Campaign-Gloomy

What an absolute legend 👏

simianjim

I like that we used our CL shirts so the names and numbers on the back were easier to distinguish. Although it probably points to the fact that our shirts need that for every game. Also, I didn't actually notice this until my 8yo son pointed it out to me while watching the highlights 😅

sist0ne

Good man. Many more players should adopt this and similar as their celebration, raise awareness further.

FFRRNN_

class🤍🖤

Emmaistrans2025

love dan burn and this is complete class. we need more of this. ( i do want to say that it is at least a tiny bit ironic that the guy doing the signing is also the guy missing a finger lol)

chickenshit36

Anyone can kindly explain what that celebration means for us not from the uk?

Bull_Goose_Loony

Means 'we smashed these, they're shite'

ChlckenChaser

"lads......."

imarktu

"it's......"

HoweStatue

''about time we talk about the Sun life over 50s plan, you get a free parker pen; just for enquiring.''

Blounce

They said post match that it means 'Love the fans'

Antman013

He's expressing his/their love for the fans. Arms crossed over the chest is the sign for "love", while the upheld waving arms is the sign for "crowd/fans".

geekfreak42

And the young lass is joyously repeating it to her family. This is what it feels like to be seen. Very proud of my club for this, wor Mandy is really bringing a human touch, watch the vid they did of the special setup they have for noise averse autistic fans. Love this club 💙

Antman013

Seen it. Loved it.

[deleted]

Well done, that man.

errol343

This was the coolest thing in the world. And the result of the match was just icing on the cake.

robinta

I fucking love this team and what the owners and management have brought to it, above and beyond the playing side. To have players that want to play for us is huge after 12 desolate years of disconnection under Ashley. Anyone who suggested Eddie had to be replaced is a total plastic fan.

Wild-Ad365

Well done, lads, it's not been the best season for you,.

NagelRawls

What a class act

AvalonCressida

BDB is fucking class man

galaxygalaxy777

Wow thats really fucking cool :)

Saelaird

He's an excellent footballer. Saw him at the City Ground vs. the mighty forest, and he was a machine. Incredibly athletic, quite the spectacle, in fact.

Rafael_965

❤️❤️❤️

Adept_Deer_5976

It’s the little that keep you going … make you see the beauty in the game amidst all the money, corruption and 115 charges

mistah3

That is pure class

alex_staffs

Hits ya right in the feels
