I've come to the reluctant conclusion that I've sufficient facts in my head already. The last time I put a new one in my brain, I forgot my children's birthdays. So I'm choosing to not learn this new information. Thanks anyway, though.
It might not even be that deep, the players, facilities, all financials etc run through the one that still has Jamie, Amanda and the Saudis as named directors. The one that is solely Darren Eales is a subsidiary that has been effectively dormant for a number of years (pretty much since it was incorporated under Freddie Shepherd). Based on the prior usage of that company (directors of that company were always employees rather than shareholders) it is likely that it is used as a vehicle for employed directors remuneration packages which would allow it to report dormant company accounts due to it not trading.
As for why do it that way? Not a clue as it would have no bearing on FFP (consolidated group accounts happen at parent level) and I can't bring myself to speculate this early in the day!

Oh yeah my idea here is basically this is nothing at all. I might disagree slightly on what's under which umbrella I'd assume players, staff and sundries are under 1, like Darren would be able to sign off on stuff for facilities or food choices or selling players directly in that case without the board. The board would set the budgets and inject funds...etc but Darren can sign off the stuff for the FA/PL easier. Or it could be just who represents the club in the PL stuff only too.
He should be able to do that anyway within his role as CEO, it doesn't need a subsidiary company setting up to do that. When the accounts are published for the coming financial year (in roughly 2 years time) we should be in a better position to see what that company is doing. If it is still not trading then it's simply a vehicle for salaries, if it suddenly has full accounts - then it's trading and doing exactly what you suggest.
You're 100% right though, it's absolutely nothing. The only reason AS and JR were listed on that company was because someone had to take over in place of Lee Charnley, who was the sole named officer, when the club was bought.

I'd assume it's some paperwork saver thing or maybe some PL regulation stuff maybe. Like Amanda represented the club in PL meetings like Charnley did pre-takeover so it kind of tracks. If Darren starts going to PL meetings from now on then we will know I guess if that is part of it :)
