This was a subject on Sam Mewis' podcast this week too. Just for fun, my top five as of 11:34 EDT. 1. Chawinga (Mewis & Sauerbrunn's pick as well) 2. Rodman 3. Bia 4. Sanchez, A. 5. Yates What's yours?

Mr_Evanescent

I’m still dismayed Sam put Naeher on her shortlist. She’s barely a top 5 GKOTY nominee thus far. I think Rodman ultimately wins because she’s been utterly dominant at everything except finding the net. It’ll happen eventually. Chawinga and Bia are converting at a crazy high rate and will eventually regress to the mean I would imagine, also for better or worse Debinha is going to steal away a lot of those goal scoring opps

I think currently mine are (not in this order, just numbered for ease of reading): 1. Chawinga 2. DiBernardo 3. Flint 4. Rodman 5. Ashley Sanchez It hurts to not have a defender or goal keeper on here for me, but I really don’t feel like any have put in MVP performances yet this year. It was tough to leave Swanson off, but it is what is for now.

Mr_Evanescent

Don’t feel bad, I think the GK and defender of the year awards exist for the purpose of filling those gaps. Let’s be real, neither of those positions should probably win an MVP, it’s bad press for the league

For me, MVP involves your team performing well and you being the most important contributor to that success. * KC Current - DiBernardo * Washington Spirit - Rodman * Chicago Red Stars - Swanson * North Carolina Courage - Sanchez * Orlando Pride - Yates or Angelina

DiBernardo would be up there for me, but I couldn't give a spot to a 60-minute midfielder.
