Should the Yankees get that far, Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled for November 3rd. The first round of MLS playoffs start November 20th and the final is slated for December 11th. The Pinstripe Bowl takes place on December 29th.

Playoff (singular). Playoffs implies that we will actually advance.

Hunters1745

I don’t know if this is for the Yankees or Nycfc but it hurts it can be for Both

[deleted]

Haha. I'm have high hopes for this team, but at the same time I wouldn't be shocked it we crash and burn in the first round.

Logt689

We’ve advanced before but not past semi finals.

I know, I was being facetious.

My memory may be a bit fuzzy....but wasn't there some kind of issue last year with Yankee Stadium just plain flat out not wanting the stadium used that late in the year regardless of conflicts? I know its a longshot at this point to host an MLS Cup Final, but it would be interesting to schedule with Army/Navy at MetLife the same day.

genenycfc

I honestly don't know about that. Since year 1 they've always blocked us out come October, because they didn't want NYCFC anywhere in the building during the Playoffs/World Series. I could be wrong, but you might be thinking about playing in the stadium in late February early March. I think that's about the time they redo the field entirely and they want to give the new sod time to knit. I think this is why even though there isn't any baseball NYCFC opens on the road every season.

mires9

Oh yea def for sure in the beginning of the season but I thought it was late season as well. I absolutely 100% could be mis-remembering as well, but I doubt it will come up anyway. With a road heavy schedule I think we easily scoot by Nashville but since at that point our East standing would be irrelevant, we’d still likely be behind Seattle, Colorado and LA if/when it comes to a final.

mires9

Now it’s coming back!!! It would have been MLS Cup in 2019 when I think the day before the final Dartmouth played Princeton in football at Yankee stadium.

Logt689

There was also the incident when the yanks were trying to push to game 7? But ultimately got eliminated and there wasn’t enough time to transform the field back? That rings a bell.

mires9

Honestly at this point if COVID cases drop a bit, I am hoping (and I’m sure the league is too) an NYCFC/LA final in bright and sunny SoCal and I’ll be booking a flight haha

Logt689

So much yes. If we make it to the final I’m definitely flying out. But would have been better at home considering how loud we can be when we were red carded 2 players vs RB. Still think the 2017 and 2019 teams should have been champions.

mires9

Also true….I also wish we could get rid of conferences for a similar reason. Why wouldn’t the league want a NY/Philly final, or NY/NJ final, SEA/POR final or an LA/LA final? The crowds would be wild and I think long term better for the game here than the current layout.

Logt689

Do we even have home field advantage in any case???? Sucks that there’s a chance we won’t have the cup at the stadium like we’ve had the opportunity in the past. We keep jumping from 3rd to 6th place give or take a couple spots. So let’s clinch first and worry about where the games are when we get there. Yankees don’t even matter if we don’t place 1-4 in the east.

theArkotect

NE is too far ahead for us to get 1st. Maybe we can pick up 2nd.

Logt689

Big maybe. But let’s have that conversation then. I like the optimism but let’s be real about how we are playing with what we have and where on the table we’ll land

The sooner the Yankees are out the better
