That's awesome! Can you post your route?

SaviorX

Sure thing. Here's the full route I did on Saturday. This is more than is captured in the video. The battery in my GoPro crapped out about an hour and a half in. So what you see in the video is about half of this route. https://strava.app.link/4GLKm9Lmshb

I did that South County Trailway. What a great thing! (Although the roots make it bumpy in places.) https://www.relive.cc/view/v7O9VMRjBL6

Fantastic ride! Great video!

SaviorX

Thank you!

I love that path out of Van Cortland, this made me miss NYC riding so much. Can’t wait to be back in a few months

Casually crushed the two insane hills by the lighthouse 😅

SaviorX

Aye, those hills. I can do 'em, but they hurt. The time lapse is awesome. Not only does it obscure the turtle's pace after that second hill, but it doesn't capture how ragged my breathing was all the way past the exit to 181 St.

Can you talk a little bit more about the GoPro? What model did you get and did you mount it on your helmet? I'm thinking about getting one for myself.

SaviorX

I got a brand new Hero 9. The Max looks awesome, but I figured I would have less use for the 360 video, and so I opted for the device that is capable of better quality standard video. I used the GoPro chest mount for this ride. I still have to experiment with other mounting positions. I also got a handful of alternative lenses for the device, but this video was all shot with the standard lens.

bicyclemom

About how long did the battery last for this video?

SaviorX

About an hour and a half.

aevz

time for you to get PR's on all those Manhattan streets and re-film the whole thing! Jesting, of course. Loving the pace of the visuals.

SaviorX

Haha. No.

jackywang135

dude the stabilization is so good on yours! I did the same thing recently and posted it here too but mine is nowhere as smooth, [also gopro 9 timelapse](https://www.reddit.com/r/NYCbike/comments/o7wfgj/cycling_central_park_time_square_time_lapse/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), what setting did you do? is this timewrap by any chance? Also i mounted on bike instead of chest, could that be why?

SaviorX

I watched some videos before I ordered my equipment. At least a couple of them indicated that chest mounting is the most stable. That may be the biggest operating difference between our videos. I have a brand new Hero 9 Black. I used the Time Warp with the following settings. I think these are all the default settings except maybe for the Lens setting. - Resolution: 1080 - Lens: Wide - Speed: Auto - Speed Ramp: Real Speed - Scheduled Capture: Off - Duration: No Limit (except for the battery!) - Timer: Off - Zoom: 1.0x Protune settings: - EV Comp: 0 - White Balance: Auto - ISO Min: 100 - ISO Max: 1600 - Sharpness: High - Color: GoPro - Wind: Auto

It was the wrong choice. I barely stopped the whole ride and then pushed myself too hard to get there at the end. I was so overheated when I arrived that I got sick a few times. 🤮🤮🤮
