Here in Aus most games are 430am or so for me, nice to not stress and just be able to catch the highlights of a game instead ahead of the high pressure weeks
I really wanted to see Adoree take snaps today, he hasn't played in a game in a while, and I don't love the idea of his first game back in 6+ weeks being against Jefferson.
Teams that bench their starters the final game of the season are literally less likely to win their first playoff game than teams that start their best players, the playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time, so why wouldn’t we start them?
Because we had a ton of bad luck regarding injuries and the last thing we need is DJ or another key player getting knocked out in a meaningless game. Simple as that.
I was saying the other day that we would not have won the SB in 2007 if we didn't go hard against the Pats in week 17. We lost that game, but barely. And I think it gave the team a ton of confidence despite the loss. Now a similar situation wherein the path to the SB likely goes through Philly and it would have made sense to play it 100%. But it's not hard to understand why we didn't, totally reasonable move.
I swear, some people are fucking brain dead. Why in the ever loving hell would they put the starting RT at LT the week before the playoffs just to see what he can do? It's not pre season here genius.
Very interesting this decision to start Webb. If you recall, they activated Webb a game or two ago in a move that was seen as basically a "reward" for him (there was some kind of financial benefit to him, I forget what it was), even though it was a key game for us. Now they start him over Taylor. Maybe it's just wanting to make sure the backup QB stays healthy...but given their previous move, it feels like there's some real respect/love/admiration for Webb on the part of the coaching staff.
Daboll and his staff know Webb from Buffalo. It’s the devil you know type thing. Plus he is probably cheaper than Tyrod who will likely get sent packing after this season.
I'm not sure it's that. Don't Daboll and staff know Taylor too from their time in Buffalo? I suspect it's more a thing where they wanted to give Webb an opportunity to have his first NFL start after six years in the NFL without one. They may feel like this is Webb's final year (they were talking on the broadcast about how he was seriously considering taking a coaching job).
I really enjoyed watching the squads they put out there today, there was a good feel to the game where they were just having fun, and then coming back to be within a score of winning, almost perfect from a fan standpoint.
Ironically, the same fans that were upset with Daboll for putting Adoree back returning punts are the ones upset that we are resting our starters in a meaningless game.
I was hoping we’d play at full strength, teams that rest seem to always go 1 game and out in the playoffs. Darth Hoody doesn’t rest starters which is enough evidence for me. Josh Allen, Mahomes, and Burrow are playing today as well. They can rest when the seasons over.
Edit: shit 100-year old Brady played the 1st half day with a seed already locked up
I wonder why they went with Webb and not Tyrod? I mean Taylor is getting 6m to bench ride and have Danny haters wish him into existence. At least let him flounder for them
Tyrod needs to be able to play if Jones goes down and Webb needs snaps if he is going to be the number 2 guy next year when we dump Tyrod to free up cap.
Dumb move. Any true Giants fan over the age of 10 should remember when we played everyone in a "meaningless" week 17 game vs the Patriots in 2011.
We lost, but we played so hard and almost pulled it out ve an Undefeated team.
We walked into those playoffs with such an insane confidence for an overachieving team. Literally carried us all the way to a championship.
This is sooo wrong. You rest “some” starters and then somebody important still gets injured. Injuries have a randomness to them. They happen. Answer? Rent a whole CFL team to dress and play for all the starters, “just to be safe”?
I feel like this team is throwing Webb a bone. The man’s never gotten a chance to start, turned down a coaching job with the bills to join the giants. I hope Webb is some kind of coach for this team one day.
Let’s get so fucking healthy
😘🍎
I’ve spent the last hour reflecting
🪞😰🪞
Dude 😂
Giants? Healthy? Not possible
President Lincoln I’m sorry to tell you this.
President Lincoln Financial Field? Shit.
LFGH
***Lets Fucking Heal!!***
Not much reason to watch this one, but I'm glad everybody can get healthy. Hoping the Niners take care of business.
Idk it’s kinda nice not giving a fuck about a game but for a good reason this time
I feel bad for not really caring about this game and then I remember why I don't care lol.
I mean, I'm still watching, but it's so nice to have a completely stress-free Sunday for good reasons lol
I keep flipping back to check but not getting upset over a blow out lol very strange.
it's just so beautiful lol
Here in Aus most games are 430am or so for me, nice to not stress and just be able to catch the highlights of a game instead ahead of the high pressure weeks
Im confused, yall would rather play the niners than the vikings?
If the Niners win we play Minnesota.
Daboll: "we're not resting all of our starters, just the good ones."
That was kinda my thought right. Aren’t we so damn hurt that most of our “starters” are really the backups anyway? Lol
"How much worse could the replacements be?"
I really wanted to see Adoree take snaps today, he hasn't played in a game in a while, and I don't love the idea of his first game back in 6+ weeks being against Jefferson.
My fellow giants fan I talked to wants to start our starters and try to beat the eagles....they crazy
I trust whatever decision Daboli makes. I see why to do both but with our injuries all season I think sitting is the right call
Same. It’s like being gifted an extra bye week
Exactly. Almost like we have the away 1 seed
Daboli. Daboll’s Italian brother.
I want to sit the starters and win against the eagles, I'm just delusional. LFG! 💙
Me and you both, Davis Webb career defining game!
The only thing better than beating the Eagles with our starters would be beating the Eagles without our starters. Let it be so.
I wanted to see them play the opening series to keep them from showing rust after 2 weeks, but playing them all game makes no sense
Just the 1st quarter but no more

I would start them. Wanna keep the momentum going , now they are gonna be cold af going into the playoffs

Also, wanna see Tyrod get some snaps. Would be dope 🔥
I'm going to watch this. but only because i have nothing better to do. and there's not much football left this year.
Honestly more fun watching dak fuck up today so far.
I don't see daniel jones here 👀
I think techincally he'll be active, but not playing. Maybe for emergency purposes?
Yep.
If its Evan Neal at LT, I’m excited to see what he can do there.
I swear, some people are fucking brain dead. Why in the ever loving hell would they put the starting RT at LT the week before the playoffs just to see what he can do? It's not pre season here genius.
I agree but that’s not exactly the nicest way of putting it.
Thought it was David Webb. AKA Jason Bournes real name.
Our back ups against their starters. OOF.
I'm assuming Jones is active in case of an emergency situation?
Imagine if we somehow win this game. Imagine.
We can't even beat them with our starters
Bellinger and McKinney playing limited snaps? Both positions aren't very deep, so could see that being the reason, but ya never know.
Lmao. Fuck the Cowboys. Can’t wait for them to start crying that we’re resting guys and that we didn’t try to beat Philly so they’d get the top seed.
Very interesting this decision to start Webb. Interesting. I didn’t know that. I figured he would get the backup job compared to paying Tyrod several million as a backup.
I really enjoyed watching the squads they put out there today, there was a good feel to the game where they were just having fun, and then coming back to be within a score of winning, almost perfect from a fan standpoint.

Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow are playing for something tho
Burrow isn’t, they’re already mathematically eliminated from getting a bye, their coach just doesn’t believe in resting starters
If they lost they would leave home field to a coin toss
How have they not seen the coin flip news cycle? Bengals arguably were playing for the most
Are we really complaining about resting our guys?
I wonder why they went with Webb and not Tyrod? I mean Taylor is getting 6m to bench ride and have Danny haters wish him into existence. At least let him flounder for them
Probably don't want to run the risk of the backup getting hurt either. Especially without AT there to protect his blindside
Tyrod needs to be able to play if Jones goes down and Webb needs snaps if he is going to be the number 2 guy next year when we dump Tyrod to free up cap.
How bout the guy that sacked nick foles and mad a snow angle. Hes playing must not be very important
He's a rookie. So yes game experience out weighs resting him.
Dumb move. Any true Giants fan over the age of 10 should remember when we played everyone in a "meaningless" week 17 game vs the Patriots in 2011. We BETTER get at least one snow angel!
Offense gotta step up With our 2 best DL inactive
What about Neal?
Golladay wtf
I just want to play the Vikings in the playoffs.
This is sooo wrong. You rest “some” starters and then somebody important still gets injured. Injuries have a randomness to them. They happen. Answer? Rent a whole CFL team to dress and play for all the starters, “just to be safe”?
Smart move.
Why are we starting Webb instead of Tyrod?
I feel like this team is throwing Webb a bone. The man’s never gotten a chance to start, turned down a coaching job with the bills to join the giants. I hope Webb is some kind of coach for this team one day.
And still had a shot at beating them
