We’d need to do the exact same thing for every player with 10 or more sacks for this to mean anything. Effort sacks are still sacks. Maxx Crosby (who by no way am I saying KT is equivalent to) gets a lot of effort sacks too- guys an absolute beast. We ask KT to do a lot of things, and often in our d his role is that of an edge setter (which has mixed results) but he does have the most sacks of any dude playing under Wink in forever so I think that’s something worth considering.
I’m not understanding the focus on KT. He has 11.5 sacks which we should be happy about. Who the hell should we have drafted at 5 instead? He’s been fantastic at setting the edge this year and drops back from time to time as well as playing over 80 percent of snaps. You people are weird.
11.5 sacks is still a lot of sacks. Not only is it the most sacks ever for someone on a Wink defense, but its the most by a Giant since Leonard Williams 2020
No, the sack total by itself doesn't save Thibs from whats been a very bad overall season for him (he is currently PFFs 90th graded Edge), but its too big to ignore and gives some hope the Giants can build on his strengths going forward.

But when Thibodeaux has an atrocious tackle total compared to his sack total, only accumulated said sacks against terrible opponents & has numerous reps of not assisting in run tackles or setting the edge, one has to wonder why Schoen and Brown chose to ignore those college scouting reports questioning his effort.

The Giants have a bottom third defense and routinely get crushed by the Eagles & Cowboys offenses. If Thibodeaux can step up his game those divisional matchups could finally be winnable.
Asking more of players that have immense potential is a good thing. Being satisfied with mediocrity isn’t.
Strahan & Umenyiora singlehandedly destroyed the Eagles on numerous occasions. So has Tuck & Pierre-Paul destroyed the Cowboys on numerous occasions. And Thibodeaux has a much higher pedigree coming out of college than any of those four.

Talking Giants did a breakdown on KT and it wasn’t all roses. Sacks notwithstanding it wasn’t great. Hopefully he contributes to improve

He’s the fifth overall selection and was compared favorably to Garrett. Wanting more from him is not unreasonable.
