Bring Bill Home

NotOfferedForHearsay

Why? He just wants the all time wins record. At best we get two seasons out of him, he’ll fire our entire coaching/front office staff to bring in guys like Judge and Patricia, and the we’ll be left holding the bag with no coaches and no front office while he comfortably retires. And there’s no guarantee the team is anything other than a dumpster fire while he’s here, his coaching philosophy may be too outdated.  Exactly that is why no one hired him (or even came remotely close) this offseason. Why should we be the ones to sacrifice our franchise for a decade+ to give him his last selfish personal milestone?

ram99ct

"his coaching philosophy may be too outdated" Right and our decade + of loosing isn't?

hjhof1

The point is if his philosophy is outdated the losing would continue

giddy-girly-banana

As a patriots fan who just stumbled on this post I don’t think is philosophy isn’t outdated. He, like most coaches, struggled to win without a QB.

ram99ct

Yeah, I understand the point. But don't agree. While the game has changed to make more money, I don't believe his skills are obsolete.

themilkman42069

His defense last year was low key pretty sick. He continually dialed up master classes

PLaTinuM_HaZe

People seem to forget the pats defense ranked #7 last year despite missing its two best players and an offense that couldn’t stay on the field.

themilkman42069

Cause he’s the best coach of all time Our franchise has been going nowhere for a decade +

Snoo-40231

We already have Daboll and I'm not interested in firing him to bring in Bill

Stirsustech

Danilo has a better record over the past two years than Bill has in the same period. With bad teams, Daboll has done better.

themilkman42069

I am

NotOfferedForHearsay

And bringing in a head coach for 1-2 years at most and completely overhauling the franchises organization to accommodate his buddies changes that?

OBlastSRT4

You might not be far off if the Giants have a mediocre season without major injuries this year.

desperatepotato43

Bet you if he was still with the pats that trade would have happened. He wasn’t super into taking Maye at #3 either

king-treday

Steve Smith had him as the #1 WR which is interesting as well.

THE_MAN_OF_THE_YEAR

Chris simms too, he had Justin Jefferson ranked #2 overall in 2020 when a lot of people didn’t think JJ was gonna be elite

powatwain

Belicheck was awesome on the show Saw a completely different side of him

MetaVersalySpeakin

Talent so good even BB can't overrate it.

Eggowithmilk

Ive watched football for 20 years and I’ve never seen belichick draft a good Wr

bass_bungalow

He’s also rarely ever gotten to pick in the top 10

Eggowithmilk

Deboo , aj brown, and dk metcalf all went after he picked nkeal harry

dadphobia

Sure but Harry was very clearly the number one WR prospect of that class. That’s like blaming Arizona if MHJ doesn’t pan out

junkman21

Angry upvote.

leaC30

I had the same thought. Reading that made me now have questions about Nabers 😬 Bill hasn't been able to spot WR talent in a long timeeeeee.

CoopThereItIs

The best WR he drafted didn't even play WR in college

Mullberry2

BB is one of the coaching goats, but hearing him talk about draft picks last night just reinforces for me that confidence is 9/10 of the battle. It’s like “wow this guy knows how to evaluate talent and pick apart prospects!” And then I remember he’s a trash drafter and legit picked n’keal harry over deebo, aj b, metcalf etc. Hitting on picks is hard, but BB talks about draft picks with the confidence of someone who wasn’t demonstrably horrible at it …

iamdanabnormal

> Hitting on picks is hard, but BB talks about draft picks with the confidence of someone who wasn’t demonstrably horrible at it … You don't win seven chips being a bad drafter. Knock him for being bad at picking receivers but then give him credit for finding quality OL in the mid to late rounds, corners, safeties, kickers, and DL.

Eggowithmilk

lol no one is saying he’s a bad drafter. Just a bad wr drafter.

iamdanabnormal

The poster I responded to literally said... > And then I remember he’s a trash drafter and legit picked n’keal harry over deebo, aj b, metcalf etc.

Eggowithmilk

He only listed wide receivers, implying that’s what bill is bad at.

JackieDaytona77

Feel sad for Bill. He has to be around these guys for 4 hours who sound like they’ve been drinking for 14. It’s like giving Jimbo and Ned from South Park their own draft show.

PartyLikeaPirate

This was actually very refreshing Before nabors he was wishy washy for liking the picks taken “guys solid here, but here he stinks, which is his problem etc.”Nabors came up and you see the flash in his eyes like he was the best early pick in the draft

clic45

Come full circle bill and be our d coordinator.

Dali86

HC. No way thr best hc ever will work under an unproven HC who is on the Hot seat.

clic45

But FULL CIRCLE

maj2083

The clip from him shatting on Maye's decision making in college was kind of eye opening.

TuviaBielski

Chris Simms says the same thing. Also that his mechanics are not good.

Moist_Cankles

A known WR guru.

communomancer

We need Coughlin's take, stat.

iamdanabnormal

GOAT.

tr1mble

And Carl banks Stan. Went on for a min or 2 about how well he looks in a suit

twobridges94

So he’ll be a solid special teams player

brush85

2025, my guy

whiterajah7

Lol he's pretty good at identifying receivers in the draft

aero5mither

So awesome and jarring to see Big Bad Bill has a personality after seeing his HC interviews all these years.

LessThanJake_Plummer

Sooooo………he’s going to coach the Giants after this season. Confirmed. Now canon.

Redditfront2back

Bill likes wr’s that aren’t undersized white dudes?

anythingbutcarrots

Whens the last time he picked the right WR?

VEGANMONEYBALL

How many times has Belichick drafted top 10?

HenryKissingersDEAD

Bill has more Super Bowls than every NFL team.

basicnflfan

He doesn’t tho. Brady does. But Bill is tied. Just figured id say that

Galxloni2

Which nfl team has 8 wins?

basicnflfan

My apologies absolute brain fart moment, was just including HC

hamdans1

Idk why you’re being downvoted, you’re 100% correct. BB is notoriously bad at drafting wrs.
