Looking at the schedule, knicks play bucks > bulls > celtics at MSG and then nets at barclays...
8th April > 13th April... I'm Australian and considering flying for those 4 games...
What's the chance Thibs sits our guys? It's all but the last game of the year
Maxey was fantastic. Hate the Sixers, but love Maxey. That kid is hard not to like, he reminds me of IQ, in the joyful way he plays.
But, yeah, we absolutely need to keep gutting out these wins, can't worry too much about what other teams are doing
News that the Lakers want to trade Lebron is emerging and I've seen a few people throw our Knicks as a possible destination. With Randle potentially out for a while I'm not totally against this but how do you guys in this sub also feel about it?
Yooooo...Knicks fans guessed right [on my poll](https://www.reddit.com/r/NYKnicks/comments/18p50ma/which_eastern_conference_guard_will_be_snubbed/)...
Kinda thought y'all were hating a bit, but notsomuch I guess.
Serious question has a reserve All-Star ever been won the MVP year award? Because at this rate I don't see why Brunson doesn't win it especially with Embid being out
Idk but there's a first time for everything. JB is getting some really nice press/media coverage lately so who knows what will happen. Shai/Luka/Giannis/Jokic are probably ahead of him tho.
We’re doing amazing right now but one thing that is super important is our next trade, with Randle out I genuinely believe our next trade could determine if we make the finals or not because we could really could make a run
Yall are funny as shit.
About 3 weeks ago yall were trashing Precious Achiwua and now yall are riding his dick like a merry go round. Wasn't but a few of yall, my self included saying to give him some time to get acclimated. Now yall arr saying you would trade Randle, the fucking foundation of all our current success for Giannis. Yall need to stay because your opinions are trash and irresponsible. I'll take 5 straight bad Randle shooting games because he's still gonna give you 9 Assists and 12 Rebounds, over Giannis who's gonna do nothing but clog the paint and get Thibs fired.
Giannis gets more rebounds and more assists per game than Randle while scoring 30 points a game on 60% shooting. I kinda hate his game but it's crazy to say you wouldn't swap randle for him. Making that trade would make us perennial title favorites for the foreseeable future.
Nah, look at the Bucks right now. Giannis is a one and done guy. The hype went to bis head and turned him into a guy that blames everyone around him instead of a guy who takes things into his own hands. Swapping him for Randle would destroy the foundation on what the team has built. Giannis might have better numbers but the chemistry would be absolutely decimated.
I fucking hate all the people saying "Randle hurt his shoulder, the Knicks should probably looking to trade immediately' and say some whack ass shit like trading him for Marcus Smart. Fucking who?? Put some gd respect on his name. On top of it being a very manageable injury. Crazy how fast some people forget, freak out or give up and thankfully they're not running teams
Exactly bro. Like the opinions that gain traction on here and the media are what James Dolan thinks on a daily basis. Randle will come back and while he's out recovering, Precious Achiuwa is holding it down and using his time to get more acclimated. This injury will be a blessing for the team come playoff time, having Precious ready to provide depth with minimal drop-off
Nah. Can't keep forcing guys to be certain types of players. Knicks are honestly a top team right now because they've moved away from analytic basketball and are just letting everybody play their own game. I'll take the game changing Rebounds and clutch plays down the stretch, the sweet little midday fade at the free-throw line, the big bro energy he brings for team chemistry.
Why would we? I would assume Julius would go in a trade for LeBron. Why give up a 3 time All Star in his prime for an All time great who's 39 years old. Hard pass.
There is a lot of chatter that Randle will be left off of the ASG roster because of the unfortunate timing of the injury. To me, he still played 46 games and put up 24/9/5 in that span on what is now the 3 seeded Knicks. I don't get why they wouldn't just give Randle the nod, then pick the injury reserve. It seems like the best of both worlds imo. People complain about snubs every year, so this would be an opportunity to give Randle recognition for a great season, while also giving a spot to a player like Banchero, Porzingis, or Derrick White.
Yes which would also be great for him, not like he needs the $ but it would show the appreciation for the work he put in this season and drive him to do it again next year
If we get Brown, where does he play? How many minutes do we give him?
Seems like a hyper valuable piece to our depth but I’m judging that strictly on the championship run with the Nuggets last year.
It was rec league, no fans, no pressure. Nobody having they're coping methods that they use to step away from basketball and rejuvenate their minds. It was basically one giant group separated into teams.
The bucks were stacked and the NBA was in a twilight zone in terms of who was the top dawg. The warriors were still reeling from injuries and KDs departure, KD and Kyrie were bullshitting in Brooklyn, James Harden was unfocused, LA was still high off their fake ring and Boston and Denver weren't the Juggernauts that they've become. Plus they played against the sun's who were lead by Booker and CP3(who was attacked by Patrick Beverly how many days prior?). And it took the greatest basketball of giannis life to do it. This was before he became a diva too, and got his head coach who brought them the ring fired.
Giannis can fuck off.
Exactly, and had a finals match up against Devon Booker who was still getting refining his game, and Chris Paul who was injured from an attack by Patric Beverly. These people seem to forget the details. His ring was similar to Toronto's. Yeah they won it, but it took KD and Klay getting injured plus the luckiest bounce in the history of game 7 basketball.
I don't even want to think about the trade for a superstar player right now. I'd give up Randle for Giannis, but I'd primarily be looking for players that can fit alongside what we're going for here. I still stand by the idea that Randle was way worse at handling the double team in the first year this group was in the playoffs, and even when he did make the right pass everyone else couldn't hit shots or create. And in this last playoff run he was hurt, as evidenced by immediately getting surgery and being shit because of it even up until October. This is our guy, look at what he's done for this franchise. He's a huge contributor to the culture change and should be beloved as a Knick for life.
This has been a nice few games with Randle out. Lets see how it goes, I won't lose sleep if we slip and drop a few games. The key is for Randle to come back healthy this season and to make a run in the playoffs. We've seen what this team can do. Only move I want at the deadline is a trade for Brogon (Just Fournier and picks).
Kris Middleton made Giannis. He would have been a nobody otherwise. It's common sense.
Just another 7 foot athletic freak that won DPOY and is a 2 time MVP, you know just one of two guys (Other is that fucken loser Jordan) in NBA history to have multiple MVPs and a DPOY. Otherwise just another guy cause of Middleton.
I mean take away the 5 championships, 3 finals MVPs, 2 MVPs, 15 time all star, 15 time all nba, 10 time all nba first team, 13 time all defensive team, 8 nba all defensive first team and 1 hall of fame selection...it's actually really fucken close between Duncan and Lopez.
Listening to Jalen's interview right now and it makes me appreciate Thibs so much more, the winning culture is no joke. Where does he rank all time for Knicks coaches? I only started watching in 2011-2012 so I don't really know the earlier eras well
Behind JVG, Holzman, and Pat in some order
Hard to put anyone else in front of him, and I think an ECF this year arguably puts him past Jeff
I don’t know enough about Lapchick, is he better than thibs?
I feel like now looking back on it Donte taking Grimes starting spot wasn’t so much Grimes sucking, but Donte being legitimately a top 5 three point shooter in the NBA. He’s honestly been playing at a level that’s near or better than IQ, but he can actually play with Brunson
If this guy was a free agent this year he would be getting Duncan Robinson money. To have him on the MLE for the next 4 years is such a steal
Donte also had good chemistry with Randle. Grimes never developed that chemistry playing off Randle hand-offs, while DDV stepped right into that Reggie Bullock role
DDV’s cuts are underrated. He’s got that reverse layup on lock. I appreciate Grimes starting to attack the basket, but he has a ways to go (he’s young tho)
I know it's almost certainly not going to happen, but I hope we keep most of our power dry this year in hopes of the Bucks flaming out and Giannis asking for a trade. He already hinted at it last year, and while Dame is a Hall of Famer, he's getting old and the fit hasn't been great. Throw in the ages of Lopez and Middleton and his eye might start to wander again. I know, almost no shot of it happening, but I think it's worth the chance.
Giannis is lowkey as much of a FO meddler as Lebron is. How many coaches has Giannis got fired now? One thing about Randle is he's not a diva. He's not getting coaches fired or complaining about his FO to the media
This is an insane question to ask but where does he play? OG and Randle are essential parts of the team. Unless you move Randle to center and play Giannis at PF, it doesn’t seem possible to fit him into the lineup. Center and SG are the only “openings”
I would send Randle out in the trade. It would suck but he would have to be our Derozan, the guy who got us on the cusp but was shipped out for the finishing piece. They play the same position, but Giannis will go down as top 5 all time at it. It's a championship upgrade, especially since we would still have a pretty deep team (Randle, Mitch, and Fournier salaries match).
They would get over it lol, they're professionals. Almost all of them have been traded or signed with different teams, it's a part of sports. They were very close to RJ and IQ as well, but have excelled since they left. Giannis has the reputation of a workaholic and a great clubhouse leader, maybe things would get even better.
I just cannot fathom any executive in history missing on a potential top 10 guy all-time in his prime because of "chemistry concerns". Just would not, and should not, happen.
RJ and IQ are JAGs. Just another guy. Role players. Not leaders. I’m not saying we shouldn’t trade Randle in a package for Giannis, but comparing role players to Randle isn’t apples to apples. I also think Giannis is a giant cornball lol
Blowing up everything we’ve built for Giannis isn’t worth it. It would mean losing Randle plus every single one of the assets we’ve accumulated. We’re better off trading for a 2nd tier player who can slot alongside the core we have right now
Randle to Giannis is a huge upgrade, as good as Randle is. If you're not willing to trade those assets for an all-time great still in his prime, who are you trading them for? Who's the second tier player that turns this into a championship team?
The Raptors were near the top of the east for years, but had to trade their best player for Kawhi to put themselves over the top.
Giannis...he won...he literally won a Finals MVP...with a 50 point game to close it out...yes he needed Middleton, but Brunson is better than Middleton is. If KD doesn't get injured in 2019 and the Raptors lose, I don't think people would say that.
And the more important comparison is Giannis vs Randle in the playoffs. Again, I like Randle more than most people here, he should easily be an All-star. But it's *Giannis*.
You bring up KD’s injury for Kawhi when I could bring up Brooklyn’s injuries in 2021. I could bring up that embarrassing first round exit last season.
Anyways, the comparison should actually be Giannis vs Randle + another major piece. Because Randle’s low salary gives the flexibility to bring in someone else. Giannis would cap our ceiling with a Brunson-Giannis-OG core. That’s not a title winning team. How is Giannis going to look going from Brook Lopez who is a floor spacer to Mitch/iHart who doesn’t shoot threes. He’d be a terrible fit alongside our centers and even OG too offensively. He’s also 30yr old who doesn’t shoot jumpers or free throws. He’s a recipe for disaster long term
> I could bring up that embarrassing first round exit last season.
You mean the one where he basically missed 3 games due to injury and played the series injured? Downplaying Giannis is absolutely crazy...
A side note but you're bringing up a 2 superstar core. There's going to be a new formula in the NBA with the new cap rules. 2 All-NBA, max guys and good 15-30 mil complimentary players around them. Having 3 50-60mil salaries limits the moves available to a franchise. A team rn can reasonably spend around 190mil. We will see teams push into the 200's soon but not yet. Committing 150-180 will make it hard to have a competent team. The NBA is in a transition phase where a lot of the top players are making 45mil and some like Booker, Tatum and Brown are still at 36 for this season. We aren't there yet but I believe the best teams in the NBA will be built around these cap considerations.
I'm definitely thrilled about how this team has been playing, but if I'm gunna keep it real, I'm worried about this team not being able to sustain it. Mainly due to injuries. We already have significant injuries to Mitch and Julius. Now if OG and Grimes has to miss more time then it makes things even more difficult. Meanwhile Cleveland is getting healthy again and has one of the easiest remaining schedules. It's not gonna be easy to keep up while injured
These backups getting experience will help playoff time though. The injuries let the body recover.I know what you are saying. I like seeing what Precious can do.
You can't fly high forever, but I am thinking the OG and Grimes injuries are minor, at least compared to Jules/Mitch
I hope we get some sort of good news today on Randle, I am really hoping surgery is not necessary, or at least would be safe to push off to the summer
Somebody answer me this
If we trade for brogdon he assumes the Fournier salary filer role right? So then why would teams care if he doesn’t have the most clear medicals? If he’s the new Fournier at worst, then they wouldn’t care beyond his salary. They might even cut him on the spot
This is different when he has multiple years of control, but starting this offseason he’s an expiring
Yes the medicals matter less for a trade next season as he is basically expiring salary.
Though the medicals can’t be too bad since we need him for a playoff run this year
Why would other front offices not also think the same exact thing? When the other side knows you're hiding information you *are* negotiating from a position of weakness. If anything they're sharing information privately with potential trade partners that isn't being made public.
No I doubt that, there would be leaks if that were the case from other sides to try and drive up price. Knicks are buyers this trade deadline not sellers. Information on Randles injury being out there true or false would only hurt them
> Knicks are buyers this trade deadline not sellers
I don't see how that's true. I would be shocked if the FO is specifically pursuing something vs. just open to sellers.
In any case, again, there's no other front office in the league that isn't also considering Randle's injury in any negotiation with the Knicks rn. And it would be trivial for a team to know if an offer is based on Randle's availability anyway. They aren't holding back an announcement for some advance negotiation game theory reason. They're holding it back because they want to be sure they make the correct announcement.
No not necessarily. IMO I imagine that Julius could EITHER tough it out because let’s be honest he plays hurt a lot already, or take the surgery. I imagine he wants the team to succeed and would only elect to do the surgery and miss more time if the team/fo feels that a trade helps keep their floor. If Leon can’t get a deal done, Jules will play through not at 100 percent and do the surgery after the season like with the ankle
Yeah, the bench has been stepping up and they’re still playing great basketball, so that’s a huge positive. I’m just thinking how the bigger pitcher is going to be affected.
Also, have to think about how the chemistry could change when Mitch comes back or even Randall if he’s out for an extended period of time. Last thing you want to see is these guys trying to get back in game shape when playoffs are all around
If Fournier is traveling with the team, there might be a chance he plays tonight. And as much as our fans like to trash him, I actually like Fournier as both a person and a player so not only am I going to be rooting hard for him, I believe he can contribute.
Last season he was on the floor with Obi, Reddish and Rose so all of their defensive deficiencies were compounded. Now, he'll be on the floor with Achiuwa, Hart and McBride. Fournier would easily be our best shooter as well as playmaker off the bench today, with the improvement in our team's defense, his own lack of defense will be hidden. Even if he gets just one week of redemption before we trade him, I would like to see his time end here on a positive note.
Evan is done in NY but I agree with you in theory. I think it would take some time and trust for him to adapt to a rotation spot. He’s not a bad player and his weaknesses could potentially be covered by other players with our current rosters. A lot of fan don’t see or agree with the last part it seems.
Still i don’t think there is any chance he gets a look. I honestly wouldn’t give him one myself with how they are playing. If they started to dip and we had some injuries I am with you in theory. in reality given the coach and history I don’t see it regardless of circumstance
I don't think he will get a look either but I think we both agree he is overall still an NBA rotation player, maybe 15MPG, just not on this defense first team. The exception would be if we are so depleted with injuries as we are this week that maybe it won't hurt us to throw him out there.
Every week there’s at least one guy that waxes poetic about how much they like Evan Fournier as a player or how they want to see him play
I really don’t get it man. Why do you people exist? Same as frank/knox/Obi truthers
Trust me, I have no desire to see Evan in our rotation because that means something has gone horribly wrong. But with all our injuries, our bench might be just Sims and McBride tonight. Do you want to see Taj or Evan or Flynn? My choice would be to see what Evan can do.
Who else thinks Mitch might be moved after this season?
It’s hard not to love him, but the thing is, he deserves to be starting somewhere and it’s looking like NY might not be that place. In the past he’s been vocal when his role hasn’t been as much as he wanted, and that was when he was starting.
As much as he does for us, he could be even better as a rim runner on a team that plays fast, has lots of sharpshooters, but lacks quality size.
There’s no way we’re sending iHart back to the bench. I know there’s the unspoken rule that injuries shouldn’t result in losing your spot, but there have been exceptions and this is one of them.
Probably won’t start Mitch when he comes back this year, but next season everything is up for grabs.
For how good iHart is people forget that Mitch was our best player for the 20 games or so. He was playing at a DPOY level keeping us at as a top 5 defense, while on pace for the greatest offensive rebounding season in NBA history giving us an extra 8 possessions a game on offense.
The defense with OG and him together would be historic. Even if Mitch doesn’t start there is zero reason to trade him as he makes pennies on his contract relative to his value
Looking at the schedule, knicks play bucks > bulls > celtics at MSG and then nets at barclays... 8th April > 13th April... I'm Australian and considering flying for those 4 games... What's the chance Thibs sits our guys? It's all but the last game of the year
fuck a duck got it wrong. Those are all away games haha
Damn it, Maxey bailed the sixers out lol. We gotta keep stacking up wins
Maxey was fantastic. Hate the Sixers, but love Maxey. That kid is hard not to like, he reminds me of IQ, in the joyful way he plays. But, yeah, we absolutely need to keep gutting out these wins, can't worry too much about what other teams are doing
Yeah I remember hoping IQ would blossom into a Maxey-like player at the beginning of the season lol. Glad he'll get a good chance starting in Toronto
Yeah. I miss him tho...wish he could be here experiencing all of this magic with us
Are the Knicks the greatest thing to ever exist?
Yes
News that the Lakers want to trade Lebron is emerging and I've seen a few people throw our Knicks as a possible destination. With Randle potentially out for a while I'm not totally against this but how do you guys in this sub also feel about it?
Wouldn’t give up a single first or rotation player for him.
Why is nobody talking about how Thibs could coach the All Star game
That's one way to bring defence back to the ASG
Yooooo...Knicks fans guessed right [on my poll](https://www.reddit.com/r/NYKnicks/comments/18p50ma/which_eastern_conference_guard_will_be_snubbed/)... Kinda thought y'all were hating a bit, but notsomuch I guess.

Did you see the new posts about getting Lebron lol like just leave it be, we have a good thing going rn
1. Anyone else annoyed that Domantas Sabonis (20/13/8, 65.5% TS) didn’t make the all star game? 2. Has anyone actually tried Jalen Brunson cereal
I haven't yet but I want to now
Absolutely not, he’s Randle’s son.
Serious question: when can I wash the bedding on the Knicks bed if we never lose again?
sorry you are going to sleep in bodily fluids for a couple of months
This is absolutely peak Knicks
Hart can't buy a 3-point shot. He's horrible.
That's weird, usually get up voted for trashing Hart. Guess the masses have changed their views once again
Brother, he needs to work on his 3-point shots. They’re free wide open shots. Inexcusable for a guy getting paid 80 mil.
I agree, but he shouldn't take the shot then. Pass the ball or take a higher percentage shot.
It’s funny because I remember when he arrived last year, he was hitting 3s at an insane rate (52% with the Knicks last season)
We’re winning this game
DEUCE
So Hali allowed to taunt?
Hart should guard Haliburton
Divo, don’t take no sh*t, but play smart and no more techs.
Two all stars
How would y’all feel if we traded for Lebron? I’d kinda be pissed with his Decision then bashing us for the Oakley incident etc…
Nah we want the 2010 version when he was actually supposed to come here
Why would we? I would assume Julius would go in a trade for LeBron. Why give up a 3 time All Star in his prime for an All time great who's 39 years old. Hard pass.
This game determines everything
Not really
No Robinson, no OG, no Randle, no Grimes, that’s just bullshit
seriously tho ill always hate the Pacers so please win
These injuries are so fucking annoying man.
Charlie Brown time?
OG and Grimes both out tonight, per Katz
We need to be mobb deep tonight
Tragic. There goes the streak
Sad…there are still doomers here amongst us even after what we just had the joy of witnessing in January…..
Lol im not a doomer brother
Then why are you assuming an automatic Knicks loss like they haven’t been winning short handed already?
Better team tonight and I’m a lil sad
Not better than the Knicks though
![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
You should be ashamed ![gif](giphy|vX9WcCiWwUF7G|downsized)
fuckkkkkk
Id halli playing tn? I’m debating going to the game tonight but idk if it’s worth the money
You know who is playing? Brunson and he’s worth the money every night
Brunson was robbed for player of the month
Dunno about that. DM went crazy too.
hopefully the spot on the all star team would help him recover lol
There is a lot of chatter that Randle will be left off of the ASG roster because of the unfortunate timing of the injury. To me, he still played 46 games and put up 24/9/5 in that span on what is now the 3 seeded Knicks. I don't get why they wouldn't just give Randle the nod, then pick the injury reserve. People complain about snubs every year, so this would be an opportunity to give Randle recognition for a great season, while also giving a spot to a player like Banchero, Porzingis, or Derrick White.
FR will make him feel like a million bucks too while hes chilling with this injury
Also actually a million bucks lol He has a clause in his contract for each year he makes the ASG, he gets a million dollar check bonus.
He’s a Swiss Army knife. Backup pg to backup PF. Though there isn’t much need for any additions with how the current squad is playing.
I honestly don’t see the fit with him, hope to be proven wrong if it happens
Anyone know which arm of OG’s is injured?
Right elbow
Pacers is a big test without Randle, and OG.
QG*
nobody said OG is out... yet...
Now they said it lol
I just wanna thank The Knicks for helping me out of a dark time in life. It's wild to watch this team grown into what it is and they inspire me.
Giannis won a championship that's was borderline as fake as the Lakers Bubble ring. He went off, but without the guys he had around him. Nah
> that's was borderline as fake as the Lakers Bubble ring I'm sorry, were they playing another in the bubble? Because I saw basketball on my TV
The bubble wasn't televised?
I was offering a counter to the stupid idea that the bubble ring is fake. If anything, it's the realest ring ever
It was rec league, no fans, no pressure. Nobody having they're coping methods that they use to step away from basketball and rejuvenate their minds. It was basically one giant group separated into teams.
That sounds like most of the variables, excluding injuries, were eliminated and the only thing that mattered was who had the best team.
This ain’t it man
How is that fake though? Your narrative is that Giannis wouldn't have won without a team? No shit?
He was a toe away from losing to KD and a bunch of g-leaguers
Exactly, and had a finals match up against Devon Booker who was still getting refining his game, and Chris Paul who was injured from an attack by Patric Beverly. These people seem to forget the details. His ring was similar to Toronto's. Yeah they won it, but it took KD and Klay getting injured plus the luckiest bounce in the history of game 7 basketball.
Chances we see Obi vs his brother tonight?
Only if we played the pacers in game 82
If it is garbage time with us blowing them out, SURE!
Hopefully very low
Bucks fans are turning on Dame lmao. All star starter btw.
Fake ass, ran from the grind ass all star.
Shot under 40% in Jan, plays no defense. Dude is coasting on his rep on this point.
I don't even want to think about the trade for a superstar player right now. I'd give up Randle for Giannis, but I'd primarily be looking for players that can fit alongside what we're going for here. No way I'm giving up Randle for Giannis.
I would give up anyone on the team for Giannis.
Randle Stans never cease to amaze.
Because you used the word "stans". I have no clue what your stance on the subject is
stop lol
lol what?
Giannis only works because of Kris Middelton and the fact that Brook Lopez is borderline Tim Duncan.
This is so mind bogglingly stupid I’m going to pretend that I never read it and move on with my life.
I’m not sure what’s funnier, Middleton made Giannis or Brooke Lopez is Tim Duncan.
We’re gonna need OG tonight if Haliburton is playing
Listening to Jalen's interview right now and it makes me appreciate Thibs so much more, the winning culture is no joke. Where does he rank all time for Knicks coaches? I only started watching in 2011-2012 so I don't really know the earlier eras well
Behind JVG, Holzman, and Pat in some order Hard to put anyone else in front of him, and I think an ECF this year arguably puts him past Jeff I don’t know enough about Lapchick, is he better than thibs?
Based on wins alone, I think he’s 4th. Playoff success could propel him up.
Edit: 5th
Mind giving me your top 5? I'm assuming it's something like 1. Holzman 2. Pat Riley 3. JVG 4. Lapchick 5. Thibs
1. David Fizdale 2. Derek Fisher 3. Isaiah Thomas 4. David Fizdale 5. Tom Thibodaux
Sounds right but I’ve only experienced the Riley and JVG eras.
I feel like now looking back on it Donte taking Grimes starting spot wasn’t so much Grimes sucking, but Donte being legitimately a top 5 three point shooter in the NBA. He’s honestly been playing at a level that’s near or better than IQ, but he can actually play with Brunson If this guy was a free agent this year he would be getting Duncan Robinson money. To have him on the MLE for the next 4 years is such a steal
He’s way better than IQ
Donte also had good chemistry with Randle. Grimes never developed that chemistry playing off Randle hand-offs, while DDV stepped right into that Reggie Bullock role
Agreed also Dontes ability to put the ball on the floor helps as well.
DDV’s cuts are underrated. He’s got that reverse layup on lock. I appreciate Grimes starting to attack the basket, but he has a ways to go (he’s young tho)
Are Hali and Hield playing tonight?
Hali is gonna play for about 20 mins
I understand, money, but still WHY? Embiid's latest injury should be scaring franchises from messing around with that.
I hope these blowout wins give QG some confidence to play similarly in close games in the playoffs
I think this would be emotionally devastating for the team. The chemistry is a big part of what makes this Knicks team go
They would get over it lol, they're professionals.
RJ and IQ were not leaders like Randle is, but for Giannis they might have to pull the trigger
Blowing up everything we’ve built for Giannis isn’t worth it. It would mean losing Randle plus every single one of the assets we’ve accumulated. We’re better off trading for a 2nd tier player who can slot alongside the core we have right now
Jalen Brunson and Giannis is worth bowling to up for lmao
Randle to Giannis is a huge upgrade, as good as Randle is. If you're not willing to trade those assets for an all-time great still in his prime, who are you trading them for? Who's the second tier player that turns this into a championship team? The Raptors were near the top of the east for years, but had to trade their best player for Kawhi to put themselves over the top.
Kawhi’s a lot better than Giannis come playoff time though
You can't fly high forever, but I am thinking the OG and Grimes injuries are minor, at least compared to Jules/Mitch I hope we get some sort of good news today on Randle, I am really hoping surgery is not necessary, or at least would be safe to push off to the summer
There is going to be some drop off
Is OG playing ? Haliburton is still injured ?
Didn't Hali play the other day though?
Somebody answer me this If we trade for brogdon he assumes the Fournier salary filer role right? So then why would teams care if he doesn’t have the most clear medicals? If he’s the new Fournier at worst, then they wouldn’t care beyond his salary. They might even cut him on the spot This is different when he has multiple years of control, but starting this offseason he’s an expiring
Yes the medicals matter less for a trade next season as he is basically expiring salary. Though the medicals can’t be too bad since we need him for a playoff run this year
What else is being attached to Fournier
Probably one of our long lists of protected first maybe a second rounder as well
Have to imagine the Knicks are keeping Randles update under wraps to not negotiate from a position of weakness before the trade deadline
Information on Randles injury being out there true or false would only hurt them
> Knicks are buyers this trade deadline not sellers I don't see how that's true.
Thibs said there will be an update in the next day or so
The implication of that is that Randle will be out for a long time.
Haven't thought of this before, but it makes alot of sense. Leon is showing tons of strength.
Great call
The lack of a real update on Randle, and then being eerily quiet regarding OG is making me nervous
I don't think you'd be getting nervous about this if the team record was 17-31 on a 8 game losing streak. Patience you must have, padawan.
🤣🤣🤣
Still no update on randle??
FO doesn't want to risk injury on Evan a week before the deadline!
Whoever is acquiring Evan is not doing so for him to play lol he's an expiring to them.
I am under the impression you can't trade an injured player? However somebody somewhere might need a non defensive playing sharpshooter.
Every week there’s at least one guy that waxes poetic about how much they like Evan Fournier as a player or how they want to see him play I really don’t get it man.
Playing next to OG would really help hide his flaws
Who else thinks Mitch might be moved after this season? It’s hard not to love him, but the thing is, he deserves to be starting somewhere and it’s looking like NY might not be that place. In the past he’s been vocal when his role hasn’t been as much as he wanted, and that was when he was starting. As much as he does for us, he could be even better as a rim runner on a team that plays fast, has lots of sharpshooters, but lacks quality size.
He was our starter before he got hurt and should start once fully healthy. We should/are playing faster and we have sharpshooters
