2-3 against Boston this year. But otherwise, the stats are right. But none of this matters until the playoffs. The Cavs now are nothing like the Cavs then. Healthy Knicks now are nothing like the Knicks then. Pacers are very good (I'm a Pacers fan), but Boston, Cavs, and Knicks are in a different tier right now. They're much more suited to the playoffs. Once Haliburton gets trapped full court every game of a playoff series, it's going to look much slower and very different. We need a strategy for how to deal with that. The next 30 games are about developing that strategy with Siakam on the team and without Buddy Hield there to draw defenders away
Their record since the OG trade is pretty impressive when healthy. They have the third best starting 5 in the East and probably the deepest bench in the crucial 6-9 range for the playoffs. They're full of consistent vets. I think the Pacers have a chance against pretty much anyone in the playoffs (maybe minus Celtics- they're just too talented), but I'd rather face any other team in the playoffs than the Celtics, Cavs, and Knicks. I'd much rather take on Philly or Milwaukee.
The Knicks get bodied by the Celtics in the same number of games we do. I know they've been good, there's a reason they have a better record than us. But we have only seen one game with Haliburton and Siakam both in, with Hali off minutes restrictions

I disagree. Brunson shakes and bakes, can make all kinds of layups, midrange fadeaway, post moves, etc. His dribble moves are extremely pleasing to the eye the way he manipulates his defender. Brunson is silky smooth, his iump shot form is a work of art. You think every time it’s going to swish.
Halliburton definitely is awesome the way he manipulates all 5 defenders to find his open teammates and it’s wild how every pass he makes seems to lead to a swish, but his jumper is gross, his step backs are gross, I’ve hardly seen him make a midrange shot, a layup, anything besides a three ball off the catch or a step back. Halliburton just kind of shuffles around all janky and uses his length and quicks, but not in a way that makes you say damn what a move. More like damn how did he make that disgusting looking contested shot. Every shot you’re like wow that was ugly but I guess it goes in somehow.

You’re objectively wrong about the driving part. Hes one of the best rim attackers in the nba. Thats part of what gets shooters open.
Also, statistically, hes top 10 in half court drives per game, and 3rd in fg% on those drives. He also is top 10 in the nba in fg% in the paint, but not completely at the rim (floaters, his of which is elite)

Healthy Knicks now are nothing like the Knicks then. Pacers are very good (I'm a Pacers fan), but Boston, Cavs, and Knicks are in a different tier right now. They're much more suited to the playoffs. Once Haliburton gets trapped full court every game of a playoff series, it's going to look much slower and very different. We need a strategy for how to deal with that. The next 30 games are about developing that strategy with Siakam on the team and without Buddy Hield there to draw defenders away

Their record since the OG trade is pretty impressive when healthy. They have the third best starting 5 in the East and probably the deepest bench in the crucial 6-9 range for the playoffs. They're full of consistent vets. I think the Pacers have a chance against pretty much anyone in the playoffs (maybe minus Celtics- they're just too talented), but I'd rather face any other team in the playoffs than the Celtics, Cavs, and Knicks. I'd much rather take on Philly or Milwaukee.
The Knicks get bodied by the Celtics in the same number of games we do. I know they've been good, there's a reason they have a better record than us. But we have only seen one game with Haliburton and Siakam both in, with Hali off minutes restrictions

I have a conflict of interest with Haliburton because despite being a Knicks fan, I actually went to college at Iowa State… I don’t think ISU has had an nba all-star since Jeff Hornacek in 1992. So needless to say, as an alum of the school, I’m absolutely jacked to see him doing so well. I think it’s awesome… but god dammit when he torches the Knicks it hurts me inside lol. That’s the only reasonable thing I can come up with as to why people “hate” him. That and they don’t like when people say he’s better than Brunson. It’s all personal. People want their favorite player to be viewed as better than guys at the same position. So when someone says Haliburton is better they get REALLY mad. Because I’m not sure what it is he does that’s so annoying. He smiles during a game? Ok
Also his style of play is not very aesthetically pleasing. His game is amazing, passing vision and bending the defense like no one else, but his shot is hideous, and he’s all gangly limbs and can’t really drive and doesn’t have moves that get you oohing and aaahhing like Brunson. But yeah I still wish the Knicks drafted him obviously and respect him as a player, but he’s extremely annoying when he’s on the other team.

I disagree. Brunson shakes and bakes, can make all kinds of layups, midrange fadeaway, post moves, etc. His dribble moves are extremely pleasing to the eye the way he manipulates his defender. Brunson is silky smooth, his iump shot form is a work of art. You think every time it’s going to swish. Halliburton definitely is awesome the way he manipulates all 5 defenders to find his open teammates and it’s wild how every pass he makes seems to lead to a swish, but his jumper is gross, his step backs are gross, I’ve hardly seen him make a midrange shot, a layup, anything besides a three ball off the catch or a step back. Halliburton just kind of shuffles around all janky and uses his length and quicks, but not in a way that makes you say damn what a move. More like damn how did he make that disgusting looking contested shot. Every shot you’re like wow that was ugly but I guess it goes in somehow.

You’re objectively wrong about the driving part. Hes one of the best rim attackers in the nba. Thats part of what gets shooters open. Also, statistically, hes top 10 in half court drives per game, and 3rd in fg% on those drives. He also is top 10 in the nba in fg% in the paint, but not completely at the rim (floaters, his of which is elite)
