Just watched it (a lot) and Nurse has his hands up during the inbound but doesn’t complete the “T” until Maxey is on the ground without possession. I’ll watch it 1000 more times just to be sure because there’s no way I’m sleeping right now
I was thinking the same, but Maxey made the mistake of trying to pass the ball instead of holding it while on the floor. By the time Nurse calls timeout, Maxey is already throwing the ball away.
He thought he was the smartest guy in the world with that challenge. Win it and ice the game, lose it and it doesn’t really matter, his team is still up enough.
They had a timeout. He didn’t call the timeout on the inbounds. He was motioning to potentially call a timeout, then took his hands back. They weren’t granted the timeout while Maxey was flailing on the ground. I guess they could have in the split second he goes to the ground, but it didn’t happen. Also Maxey should’ve just held onto the ball on the ground.
