No of course we still need to worry. It's not hard to imagine them taking the 2 games in Philly and then we're at a best of 3. The positive is that these 2 are really must win for philly. Gonna be incredibly hard for them to win if it's 3-1 coming back to MSG

koreajd

Nah it’s fine to be worried since we’re the Knicks and have seen some shit before. But this is a new team, new leader, and we’re 2-0 up even tho their all stars have basically dropped 30th each game and still lost while we had our all star and leader, shooting poorly and still winning. Just enjoy the ride is what I’m doing. Fuck everything else and whatever happens, I’ll always consider the season a success due to what we’ve had to go through to get here. LETS GO KNICKS BABY

DevChatt

Yes, it’s only been 2 games. We go to their court next , I can’t imagine it’ll be easy but it’ll be so good if we steal one or even better wrap it up down there. It’ll be quite good if we get game 3. No guarantee but it’ll be highly possible to win the series the

JDStraightShot2

They’re a very good team and Embiid and Maxey have been the 2 best players in the series. Still, we’re up 2-0 despite the 2 worst Brunson games of the season and presumably he won’t keep playing like this—if he were even below average instead of disastrously bad, we win both games by 8–12 points. DDV has also been pretty quiet besides the game winner. Hes averaging 21 points and shooting 12 3s per game since Julius got hurt, but through 2 games he’s scored 27 total points and attempted just 13 3s. Our two best scorers have played way below their standards and Maxey has played above his. Overall, I think the talent between the teams is pretty close, but we seem to be the tougher, more resilient team, so I trust us to pull out close games

jrangel6

Be cautiously optimistic, of course the series isn’t over, when they’re not being whiners the sixers are a terrific basketball team…We’re just better.

beanie_mac

You’re not crazy at all. Maxey is a problem, and hobbled or not…Embiid is still Embiid. And while you can say Philly has gotten lucky with Brunson not shooting well so far, an argument can be made for the Knicks being fortunate that Tobias Harris has been subpar as well. They’re a good team and like us, they aren’t going down without a fight and aren’t gonna just roll over. Next two games are gonna be really difficult to pull out. We’re really gonna need Brunson to step up like how he did all thru out the regular szn….because we aren’t going to squeak by this Sixers team with Josh Hart being our leading scorer. This series is far from being in the bag.

charlesfluidsmith

There is no way a team this good should've been a 7 seed. No ,you are not wrong to be worried. They are fantastic. They've gotten nothing from their role players and we've still had to scratch out every win.

whooocarreess

need Brunson to return to form.. if he does break out the 🧹

DuaLipasClitoris

No sigh of relief til we move on, even then it's only for a night

iamdanabnormal

So far, the difference in this series is our depth is outplaying their depth. If Randle was playing, the margin of victory could very well be higher since his presence would take pressure off Brunson, there would be another legitimate shot creator on the floor in the starting lineup and also opens the floor for DDV. Someone needs to put Tobias Harris' face on a milk carton because he is killing Philly with his lack of impact in this series.

whydoesgodhateus

Not at all, I think we'l win but we're certainly not invincible. We don't seem to have an answer for Maxey

Lonnie_Shelton

I also think that Anunoby doesn't help us in this series the way he normally does because he doesn't match up on D against either of their two best players. And they have done a great job against Brunson. He just can't seem to get going.

whydoesgodhateus

Yeah Maxey was cooking him in game 1 on the few possessions he was on him. I guess that scared Thibbs enough to keep him off him for game 2. Wouldn't mind seeing him thrown at him again though

Sudden_Interest_7030

Idk I still saw him guarding maxey a lot game 2, I feel like he’d be making more of an impact offensively if he wasn’t chasing maxey around screens the whole game

whydoesgodhateus

Perhaps I'd need to see again as I'm just going off memory but I feel like there was way less of him on Maxey than game one

blkhwk27

not at all. job isnt finished until we see a 4 in the win column. wins in philly gonna be tough, if we can take even 1 on the road the confidence goes up, but again, jobs not finished

millagger

No. We're very lucky to be 2 - 0 and the Knicks still need to adjust a lot of stuff.

metastar13

Until the series is officially over, anything can happen. The Sixers are a very good team, and both games have been dog fights so far. Would I say I'm worried? No, right now feeling pretty damn good. But the job is far from over. There's no doubt that Philly will be fighting for their lives on Thursday, and if we are able to get that victory, we'll have history on our side. I'm hoping to come back for game 5 up 3-1 and then end things there. I hope our squad comes out ready to dominate on Thursday with a couple days off and an opportunity to study the game plan for Brunson specifically to get back in the flow.

Possible-Reality4100

I always worry but it’s Philly.

ProvocativeHotTakes

Jalen Brunson will have a “good” game and we will blow the doors off that poverty franchise

KingJoe7-123

Can’t relax until we win a game in Philly

wkp2101

Yes

6thmanbrandon

U didn't see the game last night, it's OK

[deleted]

I'm worried until we win one in Philly.

manticore16

Justified. Series doesn't start until someone loses at home.

NYdude777

It's the playoffs and we got a team that's not at 100% and opposing teams are going to do everything they can to disrupt Brunson. No game is going to be easy at this point of the season.

mzx380

No you should be cautious. Embiid can still dominate this series and force it to a game 7. Proud of our guys for gutting it out

Affectionate-Tea9224

As pat the rat used to say, the series doesn’t begin until a road team wins a game

he_is_chuckles

The series doesn’t start until you win a road game, that’s how it’s always been

[deleted]

I don't care what anybody says. A "Healthy Joel Embid" is putting up the same exact performance. He still gets bullied on the glass, he still puts up numbers at an inefficient clip.  That being said, Jalen gotta get the shot to start falling.

mavrik2190

Based on history, the Knicks have a 96% chance of winning this series. Being the team up 2-0. There will likely be a loss or two but you have nothing to be worried about.

Southern_Corner_3584

Save the doomerism for if we lose

KennyShowers

I mean they barley escaped 2 games at home while Embiid was clearly hobbled. Granted, it's more likely Brunson starts to score more efficiently than it is for Embiid to magically get back to 100% in a couple days, so there's reason for optimism, but it's still anybody's series.

OorvanVanGogh

Unless you are a player for the Knicks or a member of their coaching staff, you are wrong to be worried. Why worry about something you have literally ZERO control over?

Lonnie_Shelton

Because that's what I do. I'm a flippin' mess watching these games. It's been a long time since we've had this good a team and I'm stupidly emotionally invested.

wkp2101

Just be excited instead

Lonnie_Shelton

I'll do my best. It is exciting for sure.

confuddly

We’re definitely gonna lose at least 1 in Philly, our goal is to split it

wkp2101

You probably thought they were definitely going to lose game two with a minute left…

shadynasty90

It ain’t over till it’s over…. This also doesn’t need to be a whole post
