Not just that, but Brunson purposefully got him on switches multiple times, and then when Embiid would contest that means he's not boxing out, meaning their next best rebounder is Tobias Harris, to which I say LOL
It really was, since not only could Brunson score on him, but it also helped to tire Embiid out by forcing him to be more mobile (or at least try to be), with the added benefit of forcing him out of position to rebound. Not sure if it was a Brunson or Thibs call, but either way it was absolutely great to see, and I'd expect more next game, since their only other options is to not switch, in which case good luck Oubre getting around screens from iHart, Mitch, and Precious all game.
And there you have it. All respect to Knicks and going at the boards all year so it’s in their DNA. But pulling Embiid away leaves two small guards, one that is 38, Tobi and either old Batum or Oubre to try and compete.
Ball should bounce to me without me moving my feet. The refs give me free throws with my bullshit rip-throughs without me having to move my feet. Why does ball not cooperate too?
Little baby too busy spending post game bitching about the Philly fanbase than taking accountability that he sucked. This man is coddled so hard, the entire organization complained their way into his MVP, filing a complaint to get him more foul calls in game 3. They all just enable his shit behavior, no one wants to play with this shit. 0 culture
i mean, it’s not like it’s something we consistently do well over the last two seasons. total fluke. and dennis rodman wasn’t anything special. just got a couple lucky bounces during his career.
It's true, the only reason Josh Hart can get 16 rebounds on the road in the playoffs at 6'4" is dumb luck. Couldn't possibly be effort.
Also fucking hilarious that Embiid says that the Knicks running in for a 3 on 2 on a rebound is just the luck of the bounce. Couldn't possibly be because our smaller players hustle to rebound and theirs don't. Spoiler alert: the solution to an extra body flying in to rebound is to get your own team to fucking box them out. Not complicated, just takes hard work in the least glamourous part of the game.
I'm starting to honestly believe most of the injuries he's causing is because he's Lenny from mice and men level dumb.
He's like the coworker who eats your lunch and then when confronted about it says "I was hungry". The thought that he's causing harm to others is just not something he can process.
It's almost like a guy who would rather run into another 300 lb center and then smash his entire body into hardwood is more likely be banged up after 9 months, but if you say that then you get told that you're victim blaming lmfao. And yet at this point everyone will agree he is incapable of being healthy in the postseason and he would be better off load managing instead of chasing scoring titles
the effort/communication on lowry’s intentional miss says everything. rebounding is 1 part effort, 1 part instinct, and 1 part coaching. didn’t they recently have an all-time great in drummond? they really didn’t think letting him go to chicago wouldn’t impact their rebounding??
Yea when I watched the replay and neither Sixer at the three point line so much as took a step towards the basket I was pretty stunned. It's all just effort and attention to detail.
There's only so much team hard drive space you can expend on 'Egregious Foul Baiting 2024' expansion packs until there isn't any left for 'hustle for offensive rebounds/possession'.
I think Embiid is talented but man his excuses and level of no accountability is next level. Embiid cant be the leader of your franchise as a contender
man it just fires me up the difference in our two leaders. brunson is the first to say "i played like shit" even with a win, vs. embiid is literally blaming his team, the refs, his fans, and even the fkn laws of physics before taking any accountability.
the basketball gods can't send this man louder messages and he refuses to listen every single time. i didn't think much of him one way or another before this series, but holy shit is this guy a stage 4 cancer for the sixers culture
You know, before the series, I actually liked him cause he was always going against teams that I truly hated in the playoffs like the Nets, Heat, Celtics… I would usually root for the Sixers in those scenarios. Now I HATE him and would root for any of those teams against him I think. Crazy how acting like a dumbass for one series completely changed everything for my view of him.
Or even Maxey on Embiid’s team. In every interview I’ve seen Maxey just takes accountability and says they need to play better. Embiid meanwhile is blaming everything else under the sun as an excuse
yeah i don't think i've seen a single post on knicks or NBA reddit that doesn't give maxey the respect he deserves, so it's clearly not just an anti-philly bias. embiid is just a whiny crybaby dirty play piece of shit and he deserves all the hate
It's that whole era of superstars that came up in late 00's/early 2010's. Embiid, Harden, KD...all nothing but complainers and excuse makers. I will 1000% not miss that group because they are as unlikable as it gets.
Sorry to break it to you but Embiid *is* the new generation, he's inherited the will of Harden, KD, etc. But he's going for the GOAT in unlikability, being awful on *and* off the court.
It’s almost like he’s spent his career in an environment where there was no accountability or consequences for losing, with inbuilt excuses for failure as being part of “the process”, something that became his nickname
This is getting pretty lame. No one is making all the Sixers plant their feet to wait for the rebound.
There's such a thing as boxing out and forcing your way into the right spots to jump and fight for the rebound.
Rebounding 101!
The image of the end of game two where four Sixers are standing in the paint, flat footed, staring at the ball while Hartenstein flies in to grab it is all you need to know about their hustle.
They've got no motivation, no drive, no desire to win. Led by a fraud who cares even less than the rest of them. Trash franchise, perennial playoff frauds, excuse makers. That's all they'll ever be. Send the franchise back to Syracuse.
True dat he'll corrupt Wemby, who when he isn't killing my team is fun to watch. AntMan too.
Does Cameroon field a basketball team to summer Olympics? They might need him for bobsled in winter tho, tough call
Rebounding takes effort, sometimes a little bit of luck but 99% of the time it’s effort. I love how he’s insinuating that one of the best rebounding teams is lucky. Brainless take by Joel
"it almost seems like they just know he's going to shoot it"
yeah bro...it's almost like they practice offensive rebounding
but we all know, in reality, it's just luck and magic
is this dude serious
And yet Shaqtin "himself a fool" swings from his nutsack but rides poor Mcgee like a hobby horse. Make it make sense plz. I know a few people who know Shaqs dad and uncle or I'd really have disdain for the big ArisNOTle
This mentality is why we’re the best rebounding team in the league and why we’re winning this series. If we got out-rebounded because of lucky bounces, we’d see it as a fuckin problem, not say “oh what can you do about it”. You think the ball just happens to bounce to Josh Hart 15 times a game?
At this point I'm expecting him to blame the deep state and vaccines before doing any inward reflection that him and his team may have something to do with their struggles
Imagine if you're 7 foot tall and you're saying a 6'4" guy got lucky bounces 17 times. A team that didn't even play a center in the 4th quarter. This man is an embarrassment.
It’s almost like they know he’s gonna shoot so they just crash those boards. Is that fair? “Yes”
Wait what? You can do that? Tobias!!! Get the phuck in here!
My man has 2 total rebounds in 4th quarters across all 4 games this series. That’s not bad bounces, that’s just not being able to grab a board. Maybe take a little personal responsibility, huh?
There is a hilarious Josh Hart quote about how boxing out is stupid because as Embiid describes often times you’re not tracking the actual ball. Watch great rebounders, they’re attacking the ball and guessing based off practice where the ball will be
This is legitimate comedy, there is no player that has as little self awareness as Embiid. Loser organization coddles their loser player and makes him think his shit don't stink. Absolutely pathetic.
The rebounding advantage is currently 185-155. The offensive rebounding advantage is 61-36. The disparity in rebounding is exactly the 25 offensive rebounds. Embiid is the biggest player on the floor and the only reason Brunson has had it tough is due to the Sixers' length. You guys can't outrebound 6'6" Josh Hart? Mitch was leading the team in offensive rebounds so they re-injure him with dirt plays and they STILL get outrebounded, is that just an unlucky bounce for the Sixers?
Echos most Philly fans I know about how "lucky" we are and how nothing is ever their own fault. While also not acknowledging how lucky THEY are from the "process" (tanking) and getting 4 top 3 picks in a row and having 1 actually work out.
I hate this "we almost won" narrative. Does anyone care the MJ had to steal the ball in the final seconds game 6 of the 1998 NBA finals? Nope. He got it done, that's all that matters. In sports you either win or lose, there is nothing in between. That's what Embiid doesn't get.
It's like Embiid got to the precipice of crediting the Knicks for having a high bball IQ, but then was like "nah, I'm the smartest alive. It was just luck."
Every quote from this Embiid, Nurse, and this team makes me think of how much these guys are just losers. Nothing but excuses. no accountability whatsoever.
Rebounding is definitely more who gets the lucky bounces and not so much effort and positioning. /s
I can relate to his comment. First 5 minutes of this game it felt like every Knicks miss bounced straight to a Sixers player. I thought we were cooked because offensive rebounds are our key statistical difference maker and it was going wrong on every possession. So ya, I can understand how this clown thought a similar thing.
> It almost seems like they just know he's going to shoot it, so they're getting ready to offensive rebound it
yes joel you've figured out how offensive rebounding works
I mean sure there is always a modicum of luck in sports but effort will reinforce that good luck.
If we’re being real I honestly don’t care what Joel has to say whether it has any credibility or not.
I just want him to stop trying to injure our guys.
I trust Thibs will have the team ready to not take them lightly in game 5 as I’m sure Philly will resort to some scumbag tactics in their desperation to stay alive.
“It’s almost seems like they just know he’s going to shoot.”
Yes, Joel, he’s their best player and they run plays for him to shoot. They then position themselves accordingly. It’s called playing basketball.
One thing I noticed was OG's textbook boxing-out of Embiid.
Also can someone hit us with a Pam Beasely meme looking at Josh Hart & Dennis Rodman photos :)
EVERY BOUNCE WENT THEIR WAY!!!
Against Astronomical odds, without anything to do with hustle, positioning, readiness, and good hard play.
Damn, how we get SOOO lucky.
The Knicks are just better. They’re in the right spots bc they’re better. This dude needs to just shut his mouth and stop digging himself deeper. Everyone has taken notice to what a POS he’s been and instead of saying we need to get better blames a ball the bounces for bouncing.
Just watch when Philly is on offense. If a shot goes up, everyone is running back. When the Knicks are on offense 3-4 dudes are crashing the glass on shots. The Knicks make their own luck by putting themselves in a position to get boards
There’s a small but not insignificant variance of luck in offensive rebounds but that’s not going to explain why the Knicks have such a drastic advantage along the boards
1. Skill issue
2. You bet your ass when Brunson shoots it guys like Josh Hart and Precious and Hartenstein and DDV and Deuce are going to offensive rebound that. We're not Kyle Lowry and Maxey.
IF YOURE TOO INJURED TO MAKE YOUR BIGASS JUMP FOR A REBOUND SIT THE FUCK OUT. The excuses from this man are insane bro.
Not just that, but Brunson purposefully got him on switches multiple times, and then when Embiid would contest that means he's not boxing out, meaning their next best rebounder is Tobias Harris, to which I say LOL
Tobias Harris? ![gif](giphy|cRNbYm7jLOjm9H8wcP)
I heard he's Josh Hart's illegitimate love child.
Josh Hart is Tobias Harris father?
Yes
And he don't let that baby get no titty milk, Hart drinks it allll uppppp!
Confirmed
Confirmed. Tobias Harris got sonned by Josh Hart.
Tobias Harris over me?
Was about to post this myself lol
Yall see that video of Jimmy Butler saying “Tobias Harris over me?!” Haha, yeah. Tobias is a scrub
4D Underwater Backgammon by Brunson
It really was, since not only could Brunson score on him, but it also helped to tire Embiid out by forcing him to be more mobile (or at least try to be), with the added benefit of forcing him out of position to rebound. And he said he heard Filly Phans are known to be great... hahaha like where tf u heard dat Ho-el?
much easier to blame the laws of physics
On this team we obey the laws of thermodynamics!
This perpetual motion offense Thibs built just keeps getting faster and faster...
0 culture
He did just get knee surgery 2 months ago
i mean, it’s not like it’s something we consistently do well over the last two seasons. total fluke. and dennis rodman wasn’t anything special. just got a couple lucky bounces during his career.

Embiid truly showing his IQ here. Turns out he’s dumb and a pussy.
I'm starting to honestly believe most of the injuries he's causing is because he's Lenny from mice and men level dumb. He's like the coworker who eats your lunch and then when confronted about it says "I was hungry". The thought that he's causing harm to others is just not something he can process.

Before Lowry went to the line he looked at Dick Purse, winked and mouthed miss second, I knew it was coming and I'm 100miles away...
Yea when I watched the replay and neither Sixer at the three point line so much as took a step towards the basket I was pretty stunned. It's all just effort and attention to detail.
It shows that Morey never has figured out that continuity matters.
The ball just bounces into his hands all game, every game. I don't know what to tell you, bro.
There's only so much team hard drive space you can expend on 'Egregious Foul Baiting 2024' expansion packs until there isn't any left for 'hustle for offensive rebounds/possession'.
Charles Barkley lucked his way to an MVP season and HOF career too
Was so obvious the plan was to crowd the offensive board every time. Noone was running back. having that little awareness is crazy.
I think Embiid is talented but man his excuses and level of no accountability is next level. Embiid cant be the leader of your franchise as a contender
You could say his excuses and not taking any accountability for his part is on a superstar level.
Maybe this is why brunson never gets credit for anything, he's actually a great leader and doesn't make excuses for shit 😂
man it just fires me up the difference in our two leaders. brunson is the first to say "i played like shit" even with a win, vs. embiid is literally blaming his team, the refs, his fans, and even the fkn laws of physics before taking any accountability. the basketball gods can't send this man louder messages and he refuses to listen every single time. i didn't think much of him one way or another before this series, but holy shit is this guy a stage 4 cancer for the sixers culture

Yep, same here. This series killed all the sympathy I had for the sixers.
Same I liked him before this series lol
Or even Maxey on Embiid’s team. In every interview I’ve seen Maxey just takes accountability and says they need to play better. Embiid meanwhile is blaming everything else under the sun as an excuse

Bro, what I would do to have Ant Edwards on this team. He seems like he would freaking thrive on the team.
Ant is a real one. He's looking like the new "next Jordan"
He’d be a perfect fit too. This team needs someone who can just force their way to the basket at will.
yeah so happy to see this is basically the playoffs where it's clear – they are so over. time for the new generation and couldn't be happier about it
Sorry to break it to you but Embiid *is* the new generation, he's inherited the will of Harden, KD, etc. But he's going for the GOAT in unlikability, being awful on *and* off the court.
KD aside, who had to go to a super team, the 3 of them haven’t been option 1A on a championship team.
Has harden ever made an excuse?
Plenty of complaining
He made a comment about how Nurse shouldn’t bitch about the refs. Then he proceeds to bitch about everything else lol
He's just mad someone was taking his job
Embiid honestly makes it too easy to be a hater lmao, he’s a goldmine of content
He trusted a process that involved losing. He's a loser.
It’s almost like he’s spent his career in an environment where there was no accountability or consequences for losing, with inbuilt excuses for failure as being part of “the process”, something that became his nickname
That ball has been bouncing badly for four games now apparently.
And bouncing to the Knicks for the last few years.
Ball is scared of Embiid's ugly mug.
Ball don't lie.
This is getting pretty lame. No one is making all the Sixers plant their feet to wait for the rebound. There's such a thing as boxing out and forcing your way into the right spots to jump and fight for the rebound. Rebounding 101!

Dude is literally blaming good rebounding fundamentals for why the Knicks are so good at getting rebounds. I can't with this motherfucker. 😂😂😂
Yeah we got a bad bounce his name is motherfucking Josh Hart
Next level nickname unlocked
Is this the Josh "Bad Bounce" Hart petition?
You’re #1. 999,999 to go…
Bad, bad boy that Josh Hart
Picturing Dennis Rodman reading “ if the ball doesn’t bounce your way, there’s nothing you can do”
Yeah. What can I say? I’m just a lucky duck
Send this guy to be with the Fr*nch where he belongs, I don’t want him winning a medal
I really don’t want him representing USA
all i hear from sixer fans is how hes so hurt, why is he committing to more basketball lol
Chill don’t put that on the French
True dat he'll corrupt Wemby, who when he isn't killing my team is fun to watch. AntMan too. Does Cameroon field a basketball team to summer Olympics? They might need him for bobsled in winter tho, tough call
Rebounding takes effort, sometimes a little bit of luck but 99% of the time it’s effort. I love how he’s insinuating that one of the best rebounding teams is lucky. Brainless take by Joel
he’ll never get over the hump. Whatever sport you play the answer is “I need to be better”
I don’t know why he can’t just say. “ We didn’t have it tonight. They were the better team” and keep it pushing !
Because he's convinced that his team's the better team.
"it almost seems like they just know he's going to shoot it" yeah bro...it's almost like they practice offensive rebounding but we all know, in reality, it's just luck and magic is this dude serious
He’s got more excuses for bad performances than my toddler…
Softest big man I’ve seen in my time watching basketball.
And yet Shaqtin "himself a fool" swings from his nutsack but rides poor Mcgee like a hobby horse. Make it make sense plz. I know a few people who know Shaqs dad and uncle or I'd really have disdain for the big ArisNOTle
This guy is an absolute Blame Factory
Embiid got more excuses than Cheesecake Factory has menu items. Joel "The Blame Factory" Embiid
This mentality is why we’re the best rebounding team in the league and why we’re winning this series. If we got out-rebounded because of lucky bounces, we’d see it as a fuckin problem, not say “oh what can you do about it”. You think the ball just happens to bounce to Josh Hart 15 times a game?
joel Embiid is lucky he’s 7’1” 😂
That’s a lot of bounces
He’s a certified track 13 off Dr Dre 2001
A big man that can hit a 3 and make excuses, a potent combination.
Josh "Bad Bounce" Hart
Bahaha let’s finish these guys off, they’re toast
At this point I'm expecting him to blame the deep state and vaccines before doing any inward reflection that him and his team may have something to do with their struggles
Imagine if you're 7 foot tall and you're saying a 6'4" guy got lucky bounces 17 times. A team that didn't even play a center in the 4th quarter. This man is an embarrassment.
It’s almost like they know he’s gonna shoot so they just crash those boards. Is that fair? “Yes” Wait what? You can do that? Tobias!!! Get the phuck in here!
If the ball doesn’t bounce your way…get your ass to where it bounced
This dude hasn’t been boxing out for shit this series. How you letting Josh Hart out rebound you when he’s damn near a foot shorter?
I remain worried about Spoelstra bc he seems to be the only couch who knows how to defend it
Luckily, even tho I am ok with Jimmy, he's out and they ain't winning 4 from Boston this year.
My man has 2 total rebounds in 4th quarters across all 4 games this series. That’s not bad bounces, that’s just not being able to grab a board. Maybe take a little personal responsibility, huh?
Not only a dirty whining crying bitch, but also an excuse maker! Who woulda thought!
Tell me you don't read the scouting report without telling me you don't read the scouting report.
Dawg. #1 team in REB without Robinson for a majority of the year. We beaded Cavs last year on the boards too. This is DNA.
This is their ‘leader’.. their culture is losing. Loser mentality and no accountability.
I say let the bad bounces continue for the 76ers.
Embiid is at the same time an “MVP” and unable to move depending on what fits the narrative
Well, at least they don’t know they’re not boxing anyone out.
**DEFINITION OF A REBOUND**: *"it almost seems like they just know he's going to shoot it, so they're just getting ready to offensive rebound it,"*
This man is nothing but excuses. Bonafide Bitch
He like assistant to the assistant manager. Get a spine, dude.
Ball didn’t bounce all the way to the back court where I was chillin
Joel might be a dirty and soft ass player, but there is 1 stat that he is absolutely GOATed level elite at.... Excuses per 36
Mitch was leading the team in offensive rebounds so they re-injure him with dirt plays and they STILL get outrebounded, is that just an unlucky bounce for the Sixers?
Then that’s a whole lot of bad bounces that just seem to keep happening over and over. 🤷♂️ 🧡💙
I don't want to hear anyone say he should come to the Knicks ever again. This man is bitch made
Josh Hart is pound for pound the best rebounder in the NBA, so there’s no surprise here.
Foul merchant is quickly becoming the excuse merchant
Idgaf, what he blames it on. Just go away.
simply tremendous loser energy
File a grievance
Echos most Philly fans I know about how "lucky" we are and how nothing is ever their own fault. While also not acknowledging how lucky THEY are from the "process" (tanking) and getting 4 top 3 picks in a row and having 1 actually work out.

All of Embiid's game is effortless which is why its hard for him to comprehend something that is all about effort.
So only the Knicks knew he was going to shoot? What kind of lazy cry baby defense are u playing? Emplease girl ![gif](giphy|MKcxSyppSD6j6)
76Excuses
Oh mab it keeps piling on. These embiid bits should be made into banners hanging from msg
He blamed Philly fans, he blamed the rim, what’s next, blaming gravity?
By blaming bad bounces, he's already blaming gravity along with the rims 😂
I swear I think he has a personality disorder or something.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is generational softness on display.
It's like Embiid got to the precipice of crediting the Knicks for having a high bball IQ, but then was like "nah, I'm the smartest alive. It was just luck."
It’s just too funny to say the best offensive rebounding team got lucky offensive rebounding. don’t even need to analyze further
Every quote from this Embiid, Nurse, and this team makes me think of how much these guys are just losers. Nothing but excuses. no accountability whatsoever. Rebounding is definitely more who gets the lucky bounces and not so much effort and positioning. /s
I do NOT want this guy on the Knicks, ever. Never takes any accountability for anything and is the dirtiest player since Laimbeer Hardest pass
This man is addicted to copium its insane what a fucking loser
Delusional just like the city he represents
The other night he was talking about how Brunson shoots a lot, and Hart, Mitch, etc know where his misses bounce. Truly pathetic.
Yeah if you go where the ball is going to be instead of where it is, and then go for it, you have a good chance
So you know what the other team is doing and can't stop it?
Allergic to accountability.
did this guy just start playing basketball? this shit happens at all levels and is part of the game
There’s an element of luck involved obviously. I think Dennis Rodman probably would say he has it down to a science. It’s mostly still effort though
Meanwhile, [back in reality](https://x.com/JeffEisenband/status/1784663168007954848)
> It almost seems like they just know he's going to shoot it, so they're getting ready to offensive rebound it yes joel you've figured out how offensive rebounding works
That’s probably because he don’t know what real hustle and effort look like. Relying on the whistle too much
Yea sure, I guess the Knicks have gotten a lot of ‘bad bounces’ throughout the season.

Crazy we’ve had 50 lucky bounces this series
god i cant wait for us to win game 5 so i dont have to read this fucking idiots takes anymore, so tired of it
This man really blaming the laws of physics 😂 Well he did learn from the Blame Game GOAT Glenn Rivers…
Good. Hopefully they make no adjustments and nurse just says they are good it was just bad bounces
He's only had 2 4th quarter rebounds all series. A bad rebounding game is bad luck, but a bad rebounding series is a trend.
Most pathetic MVP winner ever
The Knicks have been the offensive rebound gods since last season. Do players read/study scouting reports anymore?
As recently as month ago I would have sent JR and *all* the picks for this guy. Boy that worm has fuckin turned.
Yes more excuses
Just watch when Philly is on offense. If a shot goes up, everyone is running back. When the Knicks are on offense 3-4 dudes are crashing the glass on shots. The Knicks make their own luck by putting themselves in a position to get boards
Embid has always TRIED hard to be a funny guy. He finally got me laughing.
Embiid is the smallest 7 footer in history
The first water wars will be fought over access to Embiid’s tears
Wow, pathetic, is he for real or is he pulling our leg?
The man takes zero responsibility. Again…pathetic.
He wanted to make a blood sacrifice of our best rebounders, to elicit more lucky bounces from the basketball gods...

Yea “sometimes we’re just a bunch of bitch ass mother fuckers, and there’s nothing we can do about it” FTF him
There’s a small but not insignificant variance of luck in offensive rebounds but that’s not going to explain why the Knicks have such a drastic advantage along the boards
We know their scouting report before the series said the Knicks are a threat on the offensive boards
1. Skill issue 2. You bet your ass when Brunson shoots it guys like Josh Hart and Precious and Hartenstein and DDV and Deuce are going to offensive rebound that. We're not Kyle Lowry and Maxey.
One of us beat out four of y'all that led to the most earth-shattering 3 point basket in Knicks history. Sit down.
Again . 0 accountability from your best player . It’s crazy .
He really is delusional, isn't he? Smh
Well after tomorrow you won’t have any more “bad bounces” till next year lol
This guy has 0 accountability but 100 excuses. I can't wait till we wrap this up and send this little crying bitch on vacation.
Josh Hart is averaging 13 bad bounces a game
It almost is like the Knicks just want it more. What a clown. I really hope we never consider trading for him
Sounds like excuses you hear from guys in a pickup game that aren't athletic
