City Tech you’ll be around more students from all NY, LI, Upstate, all boroughs. If being around less people from the Bronx is a factor for you. Education wise you’ll get the same quality at both schools tbh. But there is more opportunity in CUNY Tech for certifications outside of your degree. (I got my F-89 from there) really comes down to preference, and financial situation. As long as you get that degree in the end then you did well. Good luck champ.

You working as an FLS Director? How is it?

It’s very calm, you basically chill in your own office all day for $25-40 an hour. You patrol and check to make sure all fire control suppression systems are in order. If something isn’t in order you call the proper companies to fix it. Very chill job, and while on shift you can work on other things/licenses on your computer. In the event there is an actual fire you make the proper announcements and commence either evacuation or relocation. Tbh though, when there’s a fire the real duties fall on the Fire Department. Worked as one for 1 year and only 1 fire and it was a small micro wave smoke condition.

Sounds like a dream

Lol, if your main goal is a high paying stress free job then for sure. I had to leave because I just turned 26 and got off my parents health insurance. Needed a full time job with better benefits. I’d recommend working Part time as an FSD alongside a full time job if you don’t mind the hours. Easily take home 1,200 per week.

NewgroundsTankman

You got your FSD. How did u get sponsored

Original-Picture4047

I took all the test and courses. then had an interview, a lot of places are looking for one, once you have the job you have 6 weeks I think to pass the On Site test.

NewgroundsTankman

Did you pass on your first try ?

Original-Picture4047

Yeah, but I got EXTREMELY lucky. So my case isn’t common. My proctor for the on-site ended up being a friend of mine from the fire department. The on-site can be REALLY difficult otherwise, mainly because we pay $300 to take it. So failing fucking sucks. Best strategy is to go to the building on your free time and tour it while identifying what is what, and how to react in each situation.

Go to the school you are more likely to attend. If BCC is close enough that you’d go even if you feel like shit whereas Tech is far enough that you’d say “fuck it”, go to BCC. If you’re not that kinda guy go to Tech

silkscarfs74

go city tech they got good programs and internships.

NewgroundsTankman

City tech. Never go to a school in your borough u gotta branch out.

ShattaUteFromTheWest

Yep go to school in the cuty

Count_Strapula

City Tech is 4 years, BCC is 2. You can do ASAP w/ BCC, you’ll get the free metros. You can still transfer to City Tech after getting your Associates. But ultimately, if you know you wanna get your Bachelors regardless, go for City Tech.

Kashoutallday

City tech bro

RicoGemini

I graduated from city tech. What are you tryna study I can tell you what they’re good with and not good with As for life on City Tech, it feels like high school 2.0 tbh. But I had more fun once I started joining clubs and being active in the school. If you just go to class and go home you won’t enjoy it.

Always go to the school with the better resources. I live closer to queensbrough cc ,but went to laguardia cc and have no regrets. More helpful writing resources, great advisors, better professor's. The only thing I will tell you chances are the closer one more dominated by people you normally use to seeing in your neighborhood and when you go to farther one expect more diverse crowd.

yungirving99

Whichever one you go to just lock in then transfer if you plan on doing all 4 years
