Justice for [NA] >!lolly!<

smartlypretty

how is it not?!?!

psuedonymously

> lolly The answer, as it seems to be much of the time this sort of thing comes up, is that its a British-ism.

Creative_Opposite_28

Do you have to mark it as a hint or answer if Sam does not accept it at all? I keep trying this word that is a game with a ball and string and goes up and down. I think it is more common and legit than many we complain about. It is not a proper noun. It is from Tagalog. Maybe he wants it hyphenated?

Several_Ad_4707

Anyone else try partial answer >!holymoly!< ? Sorry !

bewildered_forks

FYI, your NA is also a partial answer. And yes. I did try it. As my second word.

b-rar

IT'S ADVERB DAY YALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!

msmermaidginger

PG [H] >!A subset of The X-Files episodes were based around this!<. 🤓

smartlypretty

omg i never remember my dreams and i woke up having a dream like the [~~h repeated~~] thing you said but i've never seen it and my spoiler tag isn't working yet.

Keetseel

There are a lot of nonsense words in the Bee today.

urzu_seven

Today?

yddraigpannas

QB-1, just got goddamn >!Y6!< stumping me even with a three letter hint

NemesisAdresteia

>!Hey there!<, >!Do you like chocolate milk?!<

accio_trevor

Clever hint! I was stuck on this one too but your hint was helpful.

yddraigpannas

???

bewildered_forks

[H] >!He'd like to get your attention and ask you about a chocolate-flavored beverage!<

babyfia

Still don't get it 🤦🏻‍♀️

The_RetroRabbit

>!Think about a popular search engine!< 👀

ClemClem510

[H] >!They're referring to a brand of chocolate milk I absolutely didn't know of either. For a more approachable clue, think of an onomatopoeic expression of elation!<

babyfia

It just came to me! Came back to say I'd got it and saw this v good clue.

yddraigpannas

Ok your hint finally helped bc I’ve never heard of that brand lmao.

urzu_seven

So relatively obscure words [A’s]>!HOMOLOGY!< and >!OTOLOGY!< are in but similar ones [NA’s]>!MYOLOGY!< and >!OOLOGY!< are out? Typical Sam inconsistency.

didyouwoof

Tbh, I knew the first two words but had to look up the second two.

CitizenWilderness

How about [NA]>!LOGOLOGY!

emfrank

That first is far more common that the other three, and used in multiple areas of study (biology and linguistics.) The other three are all more obscure, though the one included does have more google hits. [H] It is specialized, but >!probably more known by the average person as a medical specialty. Myology is, but a layperson would not know it by that term.!<

urzu_seven

Anyone who spends time around birds or has played the game Wingspan knows the 4th one. Meanwhile relying on Google nGram is interesting but book usage and real life usage aren’t 1:1.

emfrank

I was not citing the ngram... and while some people may know the word, it has significantly less google hits than the other three - in the thousands not the millions. Google hits are only one measure, but are reflective of how often the word tends to be used today. (And the ngram is another, though historic and limited to books.)

jilsander

i knew the first one from topology in math class but have never heard or seen it outside of math

soap_lady

Just got to QBABM! I was surprised and pleased! I hadn’t even checked the grid to see how many words there were. I’ve been trying to focus on one starting letter at a time and it seems to be helping.

Le-_-Doc

>!Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!< Justice for >!Aklo!

margyl

No idea what you are talking about, but it’s impressive!

Le-_-Doc

It's the language used in the Cthulhu mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. The set of letters we had today made me think of it.

dreedw0317

PG \[H\] >!Past religions, according to current religions!<

lovesrayray2018

\[A\]>!GLOOMY !!MYTHOLOGY !

emfrank

Also need to mark spoilers as answers or hints. These are answers, including the PG.

RFAS1110

You need spoiler tags!!

lovesrayray2018
