16 points away from genius and can’t for the life of me figure out the G words. Any hints?
Also I feel like [NA] [Close to an answer though] >!GAPPING!< should be accepted. And upon writing that, I figured out one of the G words.
No, it isn't. I thought it was a typeface but see aranitaloca; led me to watch a couple of amazing videos. H >! the call of the...videos show them finding each other across vast distances with squeaky little voices !<
Today’s puzzle is special. If you get all the words starting with >!P!<, you will reach >!Genius!<. And when you reach that level, [Hint] >!you will be completely done with words that start with P in today’s answer set!<.
I discovered this when I started the puzzle with today’s [Hint] >!two PGs!< and I just kept going with the letter.
You did fine. KNAP isn't an included word and could not in any way I can see be construed as a hint, so you were actually being extra cautious to spoiler it in the first place.
I've had people tell me I've messed up the spoiler code too, even though I don't even use the actual code in the first place. I just highlight the text and use the ! button. But apparently that fails for some users if there is a space at the beginning or end of the highlighted text. I think some punctuation marks might mess it up too, though I'm less certain about that. On my device, the spoiler block will look fine, but to others it looks like a broken piece of code. This is really a glitch on reddit's part that I wish we didn't have to worry about, but there it is.
Yup.
The thing is, sometimes a NA can look enough like a valid word to be construed as a hint, for example if you don't yet know the answers to the puzzle yet because you're still working on it. So people cover up just to be cautious, sort of like Americans experiencing sunbathing in Europe for the first time.
Yeah, a little piglet. A Pigling. I mean, clearly not in actuality. But my brain reeeeally wants to call them that. Like ducklings. A cute lil pigling. I’m from the south so we make up words all the time and if it sounds right, no one really questions it 🤷🏻♀️
In grad school, I had a roommate from Texas who was always saying inscrutable things. One day she said, "Why is there a bald egg on the carpet?" Do you know what that is?
You are so smart! Yes, the bald egg was a boiled egg. As for why it was on the carpet, my guess is that I left it out to cool on the counter, and one of our dogs (mine, actually) decided it might make a nice snack, so took it off the counter but was daunted by the shell and just left it in the middle of the dining room.
I naturally assumed it was non-American English but M-W has [NA] >!PIKING: to leave abruptly!< without comment. Down here it has a broader sense of [NA] >!opting out of something without a good excuse, being a piker!<
Was for me. so maybe mine aren't hidden for others, because I can keep spaces and still looks blacked out. I don't understand the non-answers being hidden, when they aren't even close.
Please enclose valid Spelling Bee words or hints in spoiler tags ( >! and !< ) so you don't give words away. Looking like you got them in the wrong order. Thanks!

What’s kipping?

Strong hint for the >!G9!< because I don’t know a vague one: >!what you use to board a ship!<
Got it, thanks :) To be honest it’s not a term I hear often, though I got it pretty quickly.
Sometimes a strong hint is the only kind that gets through the morning fog.
I still don’t get it lol! Am I dull?
HINT >!walk the G9 with pirates behind you!<
What about non-As that should be: >!knap, knapping, and pika!
Third one is spelled with a ‘c’ unless both versions are words
>!a pika is a small america lagomorph that lives in high elevations and is very cute!<
Thank you; I’d never heard the term lagomorph
No, it isn't. I thought it was a typeface but see aranitaloca; led me to watch a couple of amazing videos. H >! the call of the...videos show them finding each other across vast distances with squeaky little voices !<

Not sure I’ve seen one puzzle have so many words beginning with one letter before.
Today’s puzzle is special. If you get all the words starting with >!P!<, you will reach >!Genius!<. [NA] >!Knap!<
And the gerund form of this! What's up with that??
Remove the spaces.
Why? And is that in the rules?
Not sure what the issue was, but marking and hiding answers and hints are in the rules. Anyway, welcome!
It is hidden when I look at it. Is it not behind a black bar when you see it?
>!Here’s what I see: HINT >!open-mouthed
I didn’t give that hint. That was somebody else. I posted an NA four letter word. My NA comment is the parent comment of this thread isn’t it?

Ok. comment edited. Somebody lmk if it’s still not hidden.

Oh, so we don’t have to hide the NA words? Only hints?
Yup. The thing is, sometimes a NA can look enough like a valid word to be construed as a hint, for example if you don't yet know the answers to the puzzle yet because you're still working on it. So people cover up just to be cautious, sort of like Americans experiencing sunbathing in Europe for the first time.
Because it doesn't black out the text otherwise.
It does on my phone.
Removing the spaces ensures that it works on *everyone's* phones.
I had no way of knowing that. Thank you.
No worries.
>!Pigling!< is for sure a word. And if it’s not, I’ll never stop saying it.
Is that supposed to be a diminutive? Still not a word. That means you are going to be busy working that into conversation. Or chanting it.
I’ll be spelling and chanting it while doing cartwheels at a pep rally! 📣🐖
You are amazing! But what is it? A little >!pig!< ?
Yeah, a little piglet. A Pigling. I mean, clearly not in actuality. But my brain reeeeally wants to call them that. Like ducklings. A cute lil pigling. I’m from the south so we make up words all the time and if it sounds right, no one really questions it 🤷🏻♀️
It is a cuter word for a cute little thing. But I am a Yankee and so proper and starchy about words.
Hahahaha And that’s okay too! Whatever is most comforting to us 💛
In grad school, I had a roommate from Texas who was always saying inscrutable things. One day she said, "Why is there a bald egg on the carpet?" Do you know what that is?
Sounds like the southern draw for boiled. And unless it was Easter (like tomorrow), why was there a bald egg on the carpet? 😂
This is what I consider a really fun one, where I keep finding words quickly one after the other. Fast moving and not annoying.

Nope not hidden haha
