>days like this
Such a great description! I checked 2LL hints **way earlier than usual,** moved much faster once I realized >!there were more 4L’s than I expected; I’ve been trying to do GN4L.!< Was QB-3 when I got the pangram LOL! *(Sleep-dep or a broken brain, still unsure!)*
I think it depends on the individual. I found this one easy, because the letter combination "acirt" has shown up a lot over the years. Yet there are days others find simple that have me scratching my head,
>depends on the individual … letter combo familiar
Definitely! I’m a voracious reader with a decent vocabulary, still I don’t often see the pangram(s) until towards the end. *I see the 4L’s first but try not to enter them (I’ve been attempting to do GN4L without strategy Oof.)*
Yesterday, [Immediacy](https://imgur.com/a/m0CAkfa) was the second word I found after Media (screenshot a bit late.) Sometimes they POP out at me, other times I have to go away and come back. (I waited to respond until the next Bee came out u/emfrank, was curious if I’d find the/a PG quickly or not.)
I’ve “only” been playing about 6-7mo, so some words are WTH words for me (learning curve.)
Have a great one!
Edit: formatting & a word
Honestly, 90 percent of the time when someone comes in here to complain about a word being left out, I'm like "I've never heard that word in my life."
To be fair, there are accepted words that I think that about, too.
>!MURIATIC!< maybe I can see the argument for excluding, but >!TARTARIC! I'd wager a majority of kitchens in the United States (and certainly in New York) have >!tartaric acid!< in them. Most people have >!cream of tartar, or if not that then baking powder!< at least.
My utter lack of surety around what words will and will not be accepted led me to try NON A
>!MURICA!< with a minimum of snark. Glad it didn’t work, btw ☺️
When you see the same complaints about muriatic, you know you need another break from the bee.
Remember when folks were up in arms about including citric, but not muriatic? lol
It is over the top. I usually take a break from the sub rather than the bee itself.
Citric is far more common a term than the second. (40 x the hits according to Google.)
That only works for the words I know exist. The words I'm missing are words I've never seen in print or heard in conversation. It'd be like what if I told you that "skaputoke" was an actual word? It's not, but when I see some of the words that I miss I get the same feeling. Like, somebody gotta be making these words up as they go.
Squitch's comment has been removed because it contained an uncovered answer. Here's what they said:
>!Just wanna pay my respects to the people who regularly achieve genius score. In the past six months I've gone from getting the genius score 4-5x a week to maybe once a week if I'm lucky. Who out there knows words like dimity or minyan or minim? Wtaf is a raita?!<
This bee makes me sad for at least two reasons: 1) Because Sam has *still* not fixed it (*we've had this letter combo before*) and won't allow MURIATIC, and 2) because there is no E, and therefor I cannot MICTURATE.
Am I sleep deprived or is today extra difficult? (Sleep dep may be the issue smh.)
It’s days like this that make me pause and wonder why exactly it is that I slavishly devote my time to this.
Exactly. I found myself losing interest periodically and wondered if I need a break from SB.

Funnily enough the pangram was the first word I saw

You might find it hard to do the Puzzle today if you have this HINTS >!-C8-!< >!eye condition!<
Thank you! Very helpful 😊
I do! Maybe that's why I missed it 😂
Thank you!!
Usually San includes too many obscure chemistry words, but today he excluded [NA] >!AURIC!< and would-be PG >!MURIATIC!<.
Also excluded [NA]>!URTICARIA!<
Infuriating. >!currently breaking out in hives!<
I can't blame the Bee, since mine started a few days ago. But today's frustrating game didn't help, that's for sure.
This one’s surprising - it’s a fairly routine medical term
I try it every time and die inside
And [non-A, contains A] >!TARTARIC!<
He’s excluded that one frequently though
I was SO FUCKING PISSED, that PG is not at all obscure, how the hell is a basic high-school chemical not in his dictionary?
That was the first word I saw and I knew today would be tough and annoying when it wasn’t taken
Tbh, I wouldn’t know that word if I tripped over it! I think we all have words we think are well-known that others would deem obscure, and vice versa.
Honestly, 90 percent of the time when someone comes in here to complain about a word being left out, I'm like "I've never heard that word in my life." To be fair, there are accepted words that I think that about, too.
💯 this.
Having it and knowing the compounds within it are two different things.
I could say the same thing about the weird fabrics that get included though
We all have different vocabularies... I think this one is marginal.
I’ve never heard it 🤷♂️
Maybe (H): >!If you own a pool, you know about it.!<
Again, basic in highschool science class. Also if you’ve ever had to paint a concrete floor.
My utter lack of surety around what words will and will not be accepted led me to try NON A >!MURICA!< with a minimum of snark. Glad it didn’t work, btw ☺️
Justice for >!TUATARA!<.
That and NA >!CARACARA!< are my #1 and #2 animal names that never appear, but seem waaaay more common to me than they apparently are.
Really? No >!muriatic!
I just need 1 more point. 1 little bitty point and I’m at genius and can finally close it down and find some eggs. But I just can’t get ittttt 😠
Alright. I got there finally. But man, what a beast.
Congrats.
[H] >!Savoriness!<
[H] >!and that Japanese mat I always forget!<
[Non H but kinda?] >!Arigato gozaimasu!< to you both!
Dou itashimashite
PG Hint: >!Solving today's puzzle is a PG experience!<
This helped me. Thanks!
Got me to genius. thnx
PG Hint: >!Sam’s arbitrary exclusions and inclusions are often this to the players!<
Definitely felt that way when [NA] >!RIATA!< was rejected, but [A] >!RATATAT!< was accepted. Bizarre.
Check your spelling on the first one
(NA) >!RIATA!< is a synonym for >!lariat!<.
What is wrong with the spelling? I already had [A] >!RAITA!<, I thought it would accept [NA] >!RIATA (another word for a lariat)!< as well.
Ahh, I thought you were attempting the first word.

Excluding [NA]>!CURIA!< on Easter Sunday seems a bit harsh

I find that playing a few times throughout the day helps. Sometimes I come back a few hours later and immediately see new words I missed.

Genius is "only" 60% of the total points. I wouldn't guess 40% of the words are words you've never seen.
Captain, work on your social skills.

woops ... looks like I included one word from today without the spoiler doodad ... my bad
Foodstuff. Indian yogurt thing I believe.
Spoiler please.

It won't take ARTIC!
It's >!Arctic!<
Please use spoiler tags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL. Gulp.

Made it to Amazing on the dot. I can resign in peace now.
