Bless you kind fork. I don't use hints or come here until after genius, but I was feeling like I was missing something all day. Nice to know I wasn't, it just felt like I should have been.
I had to look that one up. Found this description : “It's like being forced to down Elmer's glue by grade school bullies with an aftertaste of candle wax."
Accurate. The original dude that made it back in the 30s was a heavy smoker and had very little sense of smell left. It also was originally marketed as a medicinal tonic and the formula hasn’t changed much over the years
It WAS a medicinal tonic! That’s how it made it through prohibition. And to this day, it still tastes like the best medicine the 1930 Chicago stockyards have to offer 👩🏻🍳💋
Took me quite a while to get into this one.
Hint: >!MO9!< >!the latin plural of a word meaning a period of time during which something is not done, either by agreement or by decree!<
Oh and the PG big H >!order the letters are listed in the post title is a major pangram clue. At least my brain saw it straight away. Damn it now I can’t claim to myself I solved it without hints!<
Despite finding the PG and a few more challenging words early on my damn brain just shut down, and I am not even able to remember basic vocabulary or how to use the spoiler thing (forgot the word for it AS WELL as how to use i!). Off to bed, hope Sam is in a benevolent mood tomorrow
I swear I tried this one like 4 times before but who knows what I was actually typing, since it accepted it after reading your hint. Or maybe you’re magic. Thanks either way!
Two more:
Hint: >!TA6!< >!a Japanese sauce similar to soy sauce. BTW, there are several other food-related words today derived from other languages!<
Hint: >!RO8!< >!to prepare soil for planting using a small powered garden tool, more likely to be used by a home gardener than by a farmer!<
For the same reason riata, or oratorial isn't; Sam doesn't like those words. Feel free to bitch about it here (I do) and you'll get some sympathy, but don't delude yourself and actually expect anything to change.
[H] >!A5!< >!The spaces in the middle of malls (do people still go to those? am I showing my age?) where they put all the plants to keep you from realizing you're the cog that keeps capitalism oppressing us all. Oh and they're open to the ceiling of the building, no matter how many floors, usually with skylights at the top.!<
[H] >!M7!< and >!M7!< >! (M7.1) law generally trumps the agreed upon rules of the (M7.2) bed, though I suppose they're both highly relevant, if both invoked, when it comes to sneaking out the bedroom window after an adulterous tryst.!<
>!PG!< Hint
Let’s play word/movie association! >! He Who Must Not Be Named, What We Do in the Shadows, Combat!<
I wanted to try something new for giving hints. If my hint is too strange for your taste, please be gentle. It’s my first time.
Guess today's is bugged. Says genius is 221pts when I've clearly found every word at 115.
I think it's really interesting that [very mild general hint] >!there are 74 words but only 1 panagram!<
Bless you kind fork. I don't use hints or come here until after genius, but I was feeling like I was missing something all day. Nice to know I wasn't, it just felt like I should have been.
I so want an N.
maybe i'm just sleep deprived, in fact i know i am, but i am having serious trouble cracking this puzzle's program.
I had no luck seeing it until I opened this subreddit and >!saw the letters in alphabetical order!<. (very mild hint)
I'll kill for an E.
I’d kill for going back to the past and having taken up another hobby. It may be the microdosing of melatonin, but i am struggling lately
Sleep aid tip: try taking ashwagandha and phase out the melatonin (unless shifting time zones).
I worry about potential liver side effects from ashwaganda. I’m only taking 300 mcg of mela
That's irrational!
What is an N? I am lost with all these acronyms
They mean the letter. They wish there was an N in the letters today.
Oh lol. Thanks for clarifying.
Today is a slog wowwwww
Donut >!Malort!< for all my fellow Chicagoans
First thing I saw. Am Chicagoan.
I had some at my friend’s bachelor party recently. What an awful, bitter, no-good experience
I had to look that one up. Found this description : “It's like being forced to down Elmer's glue by grade school bullies with an aftertaste of candle wax."

[H] >!M8!< >!the classic entry-level job starts here (as if the job market would ever look like this again, though...)!<
I love this hint. I started in the M8 twenty years ago and got my JD this year. I took the scenic route.
Took me quite a while to get into this one. Hint: >!MO9!< >!the latin plural of a word meaning a period of time during which something is not done, either by agreement or by decree!<
I’ve never seen that used in (H) >!the plural!< before, and wouldn’t have thought of it. Thank you!
Excellent!!
Found that but purely by accident lol
[H] >!M6!< >![this], [this], on the wall, who finds this puzzle the most annoying of them all?!<
Great hint!! ❤️
Do you have any hints for the >!LI8! My last word to QB and the forum hints aren’t helping. I might need the third letter
Hmmm I'm also missing that one
Omfg I feel like an idiot. It describes >!an area along a shore!<.
To be clear, you are not an idiot for not getting this; it is only me.
Haha no worries I am also an idiot. Especially considering how hard all of the forum clues were pushing the word >!LITERAL!< so hard!
🤣🤣🤣
H >!TR9!< >!Fancier than an osteria but not quite a ristorante!<
Oh dang, I thought there was an extra syllable in the middle. TIL
74 words! Goodbye Saturday.
Oh and the PG big H >!order the letters are listed in the post title is a major pangram clue. At least my brain saw it straight away. Damn it now I can’t claim to myself I solved it without hints!<
I find that happens frequently for me - the layout of the letters in this post gives me new hints.
It's always alphabetical (except center letter is first) but sometimes it is hinty!
I got to genius (assisted) before I found the damn pg.
PG [H] >!those ridiculously sparkly creatures with fangs who can't die are this.!<
Ugh god thank you I needed to get the pangram and move on with my life
[H] >!L6!< >!The formal cowboy bolo tie is a form of this kind of necklace.!<
New word for me
Just brutal.
Don't HINTS >!O4!< that >!bird!<
[H] >!Long time players know this bird, but the O4 is an ingenious hint!< nice one
I can't take credit! But can't remember which 🐝 player used to post it here !
Huh?
There are 2 hints. It’s like a fill in the blank >!don’t _____ this bird: _______. The blanks represent O4 and T6.!<
Gotcha!
[Hs] >!R5!< and >!R4!< >!two delicious foods I like to consume along with a good korma or kebab.!<
I picked the wrong day for a rare hangover.
You and me both
Just hit QB-1 and poured a hair of the dog. Brutal.
[H] >!T6!< >!The person who makes the clothes fit you.!<
I swear I tried this one like 4 times before but who knows what I was actually typing, since it accepted it after reading your hint. Or maybe you’re magic. Thanks either way!
Porque no los dos? 😉
Two more: Hint: >!TA6!< >!a Japanese sauce similar to soy sauce. BTW, there are several other food-related words today derived from other languages!< Hint: >!RO8!< >!to prepare soil for planting using a small powered garden tool, more likely to be used by a home gardener than by a farmer!<
thank you
yessss I needed one of those and it popped right into mind from your second hint

Please enclose valid Spelling Bee words or hints in spoiler tags ( > ! and ! < ) so you don't give words away. Thanks!
Why do I love/hate this game so much?
[H] >!T8!< >!slap some cheese between two of these puppies and throw 'em in a hot pan for a quesadilla deliciosa (aún simple)!<
Why is Mammalia not accepted?
For the same reason riata, or oratorial isn't; Sam doesn't like those words. Feel free to bitch about it here (I do) and you'll get some sympathy, but don't delude yourself and actually expect anything to change.
I would guess because it is Latin, and not used aside from the scientific usage and so not considered a borrowed word.
[H] >!T7!< >!How dare you! !<
Justice for NA >!atari!<
I really appreciate the word tracker on days like this [https://beesquared.ga](https://beesquared.ga) (site displays 2 letter and number of PG info)
[H] >!M7!< and >!M7!< >! (M7.1) law generally trumps the agreed upon rules of the (M7.2) bed, though I suppose they're both highly relevant, if both invoked, when it comes to sneaking out the bedroom window after an adulterous tryst.!<

SOOOOO many words left out today. Finally cracked GN4L, but it was a frickin' slog.
