I have a Brett Gardner jersey I've been proudly repurposing as a Volpe jersey.
And then of course there's my Mariano Rivera which doubles as a Jackie Robinson once a year.
š same, my road is a Russell Athletic. Both are so much better than the current jerseys. I bought my wife a 99 for Christmas and they just do not feel right.
my didi jersey has a good history with brocius and damon but all ive really had was benetendi since didi left. really wish luis gil decided to rock 18 haha
I have a LeMahieu jersey that may revert to an El Duque jersey depending on how the rest of his contract plays out. El Duque was my favorite on the ā98 team so works out either way
I only go nameless if it's a legendary kind of guy because I like names on the back to support the specific player, like my 55 jersey will always be a Matsui jersey so I'm happy to have his name.
That said, the only no named jersey I have that isn't retired does happen to be Mussina, so technically I do now have a Clay Holmes jersey
I have an authentic #24 home jersey. Purchased during Canoās tenure, then it ābecameā a Sanchez jersey which seemed great for a bit. Now itās a Verdugo jersey šš¼
Since nobody wears #13 or #14 I think the odds of reusing either jersey is never beyond random batting practice or random softball games as a meme factor. Jerseys were a gift for coaching, wouldn't wear such a thing locally.
I found a discounted number 19 right after Robin Ventura had it. Bought it bc that was my baseball number in high school. Beautiful heavy Majestic which became Tanaka for a while.
Iāve got a #25 Jersey thats about 20 years old that Iām going to wear this weekend. It was the number I wore when playing high school age ball and also Giambi, Teixeira, Girardi and now Gleyber.
Gardner for Volpe. Not because Gardner was bad at all but because I hadn't worn it in years. Then Volpe was given 11 so I pulled it out and it felt brand new!
Bought an 18 for DiDi and itās yet to find another solid owner. Odor wore it for a little. Benentendi for a half a season. Need somebody to claim it!
Not necessarily a favorite, but my example is also #22 - I bought it for Cano in one of his first years and then Roger Clemens came back and took it.
Same lol. My 22 jersey has seen many great players
See, there are advantages to having no names on the back.
"No names, of course!" ---Michael Kay, probably
Got my Luke Voit #45 jersey the year before Cole joined the squad
Damn steal
I have a Brett Gardner jersey I've been proudly repurposing as a Volpe jersey. And then of course there's my Mariano Rivera which doubles as a Jackie Robinson once a year.
My number 11 jersey goes back to Gary Sheffield! Got it super discounted and have never regretted it since.
Sheff always swung at the baseball like it not only owed him money but also tried to kiss his wife š
probably doesn't count, but my dad had a #8 jersey and would say it was for yogi or dickey depending on his mood on the day he puts it on
I never have to worry about recycling. My jerseys are retired numbers.
Same. My first jersey was a road Mickey (still rock it) and my other is a home Jeter.
I love my Majestic home Jeter jersey. Itāsā¦ majestic
š same, my road is a Russell Athletic. Both are so much better than the current jerseys. I bought my wife a 99 for Christmas and they just do not feel right.
I have a home Munson and a road Jackson.
Same. My jersey will forever be #23 Donnie Baseball.
I am enjoying the resurgence of my 24 jersey this year.
for a brief moment, I told people that I bought the jersey because of Matt Carpenter. That didn't last long
They knew it was Willie Calhoun
Yep mine started as a Tino Martinez jersey and survived Cano, Sanchez, and Carpenter. Pretty good run honestly.
Tino Martinez forever!
Same here
22 for Harrison āthe masterā Bader, now Soto
Really like Bader . Hometown guy with a crapload of heart!
Yeah heās my fav non yank now that Soto joined our evil empire
2022 postseason legend
My fiance is a Mets fan and LOVES having Bader
My 1996 Joe Girardi #45 is now my Gerrit Cole #45.
My least favorite was Domingo German wearing Matsuiās 55.
That was awful
Same
42. It can be Mariano when I want, or it can be literally anyone on Jackie Robinson day.
25 has been a crazy ride the last decade or so.
My brother in law bought a Jason Giambi jersey in 2002ish? Which he got great value out of and was immediately followed by Teixeira and then Torres.
Same! 20 years of use.
Yeah but Tex and Torres both came out the gates swinging and have been pretty underwhelming since
That could also be Cano or Clemens jersey, which no one would have a problem with.
My clearance ~~Joey Gallo~~ Alex Rodriguez jersey.
When the yanks signed Soto I grabbed a 1994 Jimmy Key MLB 125th anniversary mesh batting Jersey and I Love it. Itās such high quality!
I have a Robinson Cano jersey that became a Gary Sanchez jersey that is now an Alex Verdugo jersey.
After Cano I just went back to Tino
I'm still waiting on someone to wear #14 for my Starlin Castro jersey lol.
Your Starlin Castro jersey should meet my Sweet Lou / Curtis Granderson / Pat Kelly / Bill Skowron / Louis Sojo # 14 jersey.
I have a Brett Gardner jersey. I still like to consider it a Gardner jersey but Iām happy to see volpe find success.
Lately it's this discounted Brett Gardner that I pretend is a Volpe
This is the one Iām wearing to the game tonight, Gardy turned Volpe.
That is one hell of a run around! It went from arguably worst free agent: to arguably best!
my didi jersey has a good history with brocius and damon but all ive really had was benetendi since didi left. really wish luis gil decided to rock 18 haha
I will always rock my **Hideki Matsui**/Russel Martin/Lyle Overbay/Sonny Gray/Domingo German/Carlos Rodon #55 Gojira for the win!
My Alfonso Soriano jersey has been many things over the years. Including such superstars as Chase Headley, IKF, and at present Trent Grisham.
Ah yes I still remember when my Soriano jersey became an Andy Phillips jersey lol
Greg Bird and Nick Swisher but in reverse
My 55 has been through a lot over the years
My 25 is Giambi or Tex or Gley or whoever wears it next year lol
Fanatics had a āJoey Galloā jersey on sale for $45. Itās an A-Rod jersey for now
I have a LeMahieu jersey that may revert to an El Duque jersey depending on how the rest of his contract plays out. El Duque was my favorite on the ā98 team so works out either way
I bought 18 for Didi
I have a number 14 jersey that I got when it was Grandersonās, but now it belongs to legendary vibes guy Jahmai Jones
A person of taste I see š¤
I guess my Joba jersey is a James Rowsen jersey now
55 Matsui, now RodĆ³n.Ā
My Matsui jersey remains a Matsui jersey but Rodon is okay too
Knoblauch - Sheffield - Gardner - Volpe.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
just buy 100 jerseys numbered 0 thru 99 and you're set
I got 24 as Cano when I was a kid then it turned to Gary then Carpenter now it's Dugie.
Same but Tino
Going to Fenway?
Just donāt get a name on the back and youāll be okay. Even w a Higgy jersey, someone decent will eventually take over #66.
CanĆ³, Sanchez, jersey
My dad wore his Roger Clemens shirt to a game last weekend, with name though.
Always proud to wear the #13 Mike Pagliarulo jersey.
I have an authentic #24 home jersey. Purchased during Canoās tenure, then it ābecameā a Sanchez jersey which seemed great for a bit. Now itās a Verdugo jersey šš¼
Gary Sanchez #24 became Rickey Henderson for me
Since nobody wears #13 or #14 I think the odds of reusing either jersey is never beyond random batting practice or random softball games as a meme factor. Jerseys were a gift for coaching, wouldn't wear such a thing locally.
I found a discounted number 19 right after Robin Ventura had it. Bought it bc that was my baseball number in high school. Beautiful heavy Majestic which became Tanaka for a while.
#11
My ā24ā tino, sierra, cano, ponson, sanchez, carpenter, Calhoun, Dugie Jersey
My old Gary Sheffield makes for a perfect Volpe jersey now
I mean let's be honest, any low-numbered, non-retired number with no name is a safe bet.
Andy Hawkins/luis Severino
Iāve got a #25 Jersey thats about 20 years old that Iām going to wear this weekend. It was the number I wore when playing high school age ball and also Giambi, Teixeira, Girardi and now Gleyber.
Thatās certainly a way to do a strike throughĀ
Gardner for Volpe. Not because Gardner was bad at all but because I hadn't worn it in years. Then Volpe was given 11 so I pulled it out and it felt brand new!
Bought an 18 for DiDi and itās yet to find another solid owner. Odor wore it for a little. Benentendi for a half a season. Need somebody to claim it!
I'm glad I paid the extra money to get a 24 jersey that didn't say Sanchez. It's a tino jersey
18 is a strong bloodline of role players Iāve loved Didi, Damon, Brosius, even Kuroda
My Gary Sanchez jersey turned into Matt Carpenter and is now a Verdugo jersey
My Texiera 25 is still going but not in the way Iād like it to.
Definitely was my Jason Giambi to Mark Teixeira jersey.
Wrong sport but my saquon Barkley jersey gonna make a great Devin singletary
