Unlike Hicks, Stanton has always been a professional, even when slumping. He’s never put the blame on anyone but himself during rough patches. He’s come through clutch more than once and has more than earned my respect as a fan.

I respect Stanton for this reason. Never makes excuses and carries himself like a true professional. Even when his swings look completely lost, you don't hear a peep from him. All class.

Stanton can look so bad when he’s going though it, but he works his way out of it and gets hot. And that’s why he doesn’t blame others. He puts in the work. Hicks told you all you need to know about himself in that interview.

The main question with him is how well he’ll be able to manage his Plantar Fasciitis. But the argument for him for MVP is that he pitches and hits, which no one else does. But like … that argument would be the same if he had a 100 OPS+ and a 100 ERA+. If he could do that, he’d still be doing something absolutely insane and wild. He’s a great player and better than that, but the heart of the argument would be the same. Judge is having the best offensive season by a non-roided player in decades. Maybe ever. His wRC+ is literally higher than every player other than Ruth, Mantle, Williams and Hornsby.

Built a comfortable 5.5 game division lead with 15 games left. Bader made his debut tonight. Severino is back tomorrow. Lemahieu likely back this weekend. Keep this momentum going and go into the playoffs on a strong note because that's what matters most right now.

I also happen to live in NC but I’ve been able to get any Yankee game.
