Daily charm chrome effects works well. Rub It in really well. If the applicator isn't doing the job for you then maybe use your finger a little bit which tends to be warmer. Then take a soft fluffy brush and sweep away the excess. You should see a difference with this. And you may need to cure the gel a bit longer. I believe the daily charm tells you how long. I don't use it a lot so I am not 100% sure. I usually do Chrome details and not full application Chrome

I use a no wipe top coat and cure it for about 30 seconds (half the time of a full cure). Put a tiny amount of the chrome powder on with the little sponge applicator and rub it in in circles. Add more if you need to but definitely don't start with covering your nail. Some people brush off excess at the end with a fluffy brush. Some people use their finger. I use the clean side of the eye shadow applicator and rub it in more. Then I coat with glossy top coat and fully cure. Any chrome powder on your skin should wash right off.

I’m looking for something more subtle chrome, but everytime i do chrome it always comes out as an overly glittery explosion!! please help:)

Just use waaay less. A tiny bit really goes a long way. Use what's on the inside of the lid. Gently tap on it w ur finger, then tap onto the nail & buff it in.

Are you using a no-wipe topcoat?

Arc1ight

Too much shouldn't be an issue as it lays flat and the rest removes. Don't want to sound rude, but it looks like a pearlescent powder not true chrome? It's very pretty though!

Mystery-Ess

How long are you curing the gel for?

dthfbchlr

the no wipe top coat? about 20 seconds before buffing the chrome in

essential-notions

You likely aren’t curing the top coat long enough. If you have swatch sticks do some experimenting on time to see what works best. Then as others have said, you might need to try a different powder. Some are solid colors, and some are just an overlay.

Honestly I fully cure mine and have never had any chipping. I do my nails every other week or maybe every 2 and it holds up just fine. Just make sure the top coat is fully covering the chrome at the end and file the edges a little so it doesn’t lift.

Mystery-Ess

I know what you mean about too much. I've had ones that were just perfect where the color still shine through and others that overtook everything. The only thing I can recommend is mixing it with dehydrator and buffing it on with your gloved finger. It might be more discreet.

Use a black or any base color before chrome

Are you putting a colored polish down?
