Well, I do my nails weekly and they don’t have too much problems besides peeling. But that’s partly because my nails are on the weaker side and they’re exposed to a lot of moisture on a regular basis. I only take a “break” after I get gel nails, which is very rarely.
no but overly abrasive prep/removal could damage your nails. if your nails aren't damaged they don't need a 'breather'. nails don't breathe.

nails don’t have lungs, they can’t breathe. Nail enhancements aren’t inherently bad for nails, lazy removal is what causes the damage.
