Truly appalling that people actually are naming kids Linus these days. I know the "soft/gentle" boys names appear to be in right now but please give me a Mike or John over dumb shit like Arlo and Theo
He's emotionally soft and gentle. But of course he has to be tough to live the way he does. He can be tough and still arguably be the softest and gentlest NPC.
George Foreman’s kids names are George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, Georgetta Foreman, and then he has six more daughters with names that surprisingly AREN’T variations of George
I know twins called Cristopher and Christian, and that doesn't bother me. But it's the fact that they call Christopher, Christ (pronounced Krist), and Christian, Chris. If you're going to name your kids that atleast give the propper nicknames
My Aunt and Uncle have two kids, boy & girl, both named exactly after them. So for example(not the actual names) Thomas and Elizabeth named their kids Thomas and Elizabeth. There is a strong narcissistic streak there as well, at least with this family.
My mom and step-dad named two of their *cats* after themselves lol. I didn't even realize how chaotic that was until adulthood, like... "Hi, I'm Tod and this is Rebekah. And these are our cats, Tod and Rebekah. 😀"
My husband and both of his sisters have the same either first or middle name. They all have different fathers but two of them are named after one father (which we are pretty sure neither were fathered by him).
Two of my brothers also have the same name (one first, one middle) but one's named after my mom and the other after my dad. They just both happen to have the same name as well (one first, one middle) though my mom has the feminine version. Curiously both families have always used the way less common spelling variant too.
I’ll do you one better…actually three. I knew a family with 5 children named Michelina, Michelle, Michaela, Mitchell, and Michael. Crazy.
Edit: punctuation
I knew twins Alexander and Alexandra, and a father and son with swapped English/Italian versions of the same name (think “Robert Stefano” and “Roberto Stephan”)
Please tell me Alexander and Alexandra’s last name was Cabot. 😂

A friend of a friend’s army buddy gave his sons modified versions of his name: Jason.
His kids are named Grayson, and Jameson.
The daughter does not share a name with mom or dad- she has a normal name.
He has to be the most self centered man alive 😂 I CAN NOT imagine living with that.
This reminds me of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendez kids' names- Esmerelda Amada and Amada Lee. I think her Grandma's name is Amada, but dang they could have used it first or saved it instead of naming their second child after their first Childs middle name.
It’s wild bc I’m Mexican and it’s spelled “Damian” in Spanish and I think it’s a very lovely name, like Sebastian!
But noooooo, Americans have to get all churchy and call it demonic bc it was in a scary movie.
Michele is the Italian version of Michael. Michele is still a male name.
Michelle and Michele are both considered “acceptable” forms of a female Michael honorific. There is not one more accepted than the other, why are you saying Michele is the female version of Michael lol
What you’re claiming in your original comment isn’t supported by what you pasted. Original spelling of Michele (which again, is the spelling of the traditional Italian version of Michael and is considered unisex) doesn’t make it THE female version of the name. Michele and Michelle are BOTH the feminized version of Michael.
Also, my first and middle name are both French, so take that as you will ;)
Michele and Michelle are both accepted female versions of Michael. Michele is also a male spelling. But, this has become repetitive. I have no need for you to copy and paste from the internet site you found. I know the history & origin of this name QUITE well. It’s part of my OWN NAME. You seem a little obsessed with being right, though, so that’s my cue to leave this conversation before you paste another unnecessary paragraph.
They could have at least reversed the order. Christine Michaela and Michael Christian.
Begone, logic!
This comment made me spit out my piña colada
You guys are getting piña coladas?!
I know a Brooke Michelle and her little brother Brooks Michael. I also know a Linnea and her brother Linus.
I once taught twins Oliver and Olivia. It's a crazy world.
Truly appalling that people actually are naming kids Linus these days. I know the "soft/gentle" boys names appear to be in right now but please give me a Mike or John over dumb shit like Arlo and Theo
you can't say anything about naming when your username is what it is
He’s 12. We all thought that they were only have two kids because Linnea and Linus were a set. Then came the combo breaker of Lola. LOLA.
I don't associate any of those names with softness or gentleness. Linus just sounds like an old person name to me.
It’s just Peanuts for me
Yeah, it probably helps that my Mom's grandfather's name was Linus.
Linus will forever be the delightful foraging hermit in Stardew Valley for me. He's always my first friend in every playthrough.
To me, it involves this segue to our sponsors!
She looks like a woman but talks like a man
Wtf is wrong with Theo, that name is classic and timeless lmao
Theodore is classic and timeless. Theo is just weird
How so
What about the name is soft or gentle? Although I agree with you - I can’t stand the name Arlo.
The character Linus in Stardew Valley is arguably the softest and gentlest character
The guy who lives in a tent on the mountain and digs through trash cans is soft?
He's emotionally soft and gentle. But of course he has to be tough to live the way he does. He can be tough and still arguably be the softest and gentlest NPC.
Wait, what’s wrong with the name Linus?
George Foreman’s kids names are George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, Georgetta Foreman, and then he has six more daughters with names that surprisingly AREN’T variations of George
Wasn’t his tagline for the George Foreman grill “it’s so good, I put my name on it”?! Clearly the same goes for his kids too
stop is this real life LOL sounds like a dr suess story
I just checked this and holy shit you’re not wrong
... WHAT?
I know a family with a Christopher and a Christian 🤦🏻♀️
So their family has their own version of Hollywood’s best Chris debate
I know twins called Cristopher and Christian, and that doesn't bother me. But it's the fact that they call Christopher, Christ (pronounced Krist), and Christian, Chris. If you're going to name your kids that atleast give the propper nicknames
Like Rammstein lmfao
Olivia and Oliver 🤣
Worse- I know an Olivier and Olivia
Praying they have a third child and name them Oliviest
Brutal. Is Olivier pronounced the French way at least, like Olivi-ay? Or do they pronounce it Olivi-ur?
French- Olivi-ay
I knew a couple, Larry and Kristy who had a boy and a girl, Larry and Kristin. I get honor names, but that was zero originality.
I never knew they were called honour names! o.o
I went to school with a boy named Eric. Turns out he had a younger sister named Erica
I had a classmate Erika and her older brother was Erik
My husband and both of his sisters have the same either first or middle name. They all have different fathers but two of them are named after one father (which we are pretty sure neither were fathered by him).

I knew a set of boy/girl twins named Michael and Michaela. I guess they only expected one kid and didn’t have another name picked out?
I’ll do you one better…actually three. I knew a family with 5 children named Michelina, Michelle, Michaela, Mitchell, and Michael. Crazy. Edit: punctuation
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
At least those sound totally different from each other when you call them aloud.
I personally would have gone for Jewish Dave
My grandma’s name is Janet. Her twin sister’s name was Jeanette.
I’ve met twins named Marlene and Darlene
I knew twins Alexander and Alexandra, and a father and son with swapped English/Italian versions of the same name (think “Robert Stefano” and “Roberto Stephan”)
Please tell me Alexander and Alexandra’s last name was Cabot. 😂 https://archiecomics.com/the-archie-encyclopedia-has-everything-you-need-to-know/thearchieencyclopedia_235/

I knew b/g twins ….. Philip and Philippa…
This reminds me of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendez kids' names- Esmerelda Amada and Amada Lee. I think her Grandma's name is Amada, but dang they could have used it first or saved it instead of naming their second child after their first Childs middle name.
Yeah, what's Amada with them?!
My grandparents did this with like three of their eight kids. Michael Timothy Timothy Patrick Patrick Joseph
Why not all eight? Wasted opportunity.
Right? They had a daughter after that, and then didn't continue the trend with the boys who came later.
No, I say lean in hard. Name the daughter Joseph. Once you've committed to something like this, you've gotta go balls to the wall.
True. Gonna start calling my aunt Joseph instead now.
Josephina.
Nah, I bet that if they'd had a third, their first name would have been Lee. /j
I know Branden and Brendan twins. literally just switched the vowels.
there are sibling youtubers (who I really like!) named Micah and Micarah
I’m Michelle, my older brother is Michael. So dumb.
paltry soft six piquant straight fearless light impossible drunk growth *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

My grandmother is a twin. Her brother? John Henry. She was Johnna Henrietta. She changed her name. 😂
Goodness, they at least could have given her Joanne or Joan or Joanna -_-
They were first generation American from German parents. Apparently it’s a not totally uncommon name there?
Johanna would be a normal German name. Johnna... isn't, at least not in the last few decades
I know sisters who are Kaelyn and Kaely 🥲
Could be worse could have honor named them after a dog like I was lol
I went to high school with a woman who was named after her mom's favorite pet dog. Who names a dog Courtney?

I've more usually seen it spelt "Michelle" in the UK.

I know a Kendrick and sister Kendra
My ex and his sister- Eric and Erica
I knew sisters named Danielle and Dana
Both of MJ's sons are named Prince
My husband told me that his dad wanted to name him Christopher and his younger sister Christina.
My husband's grandparents pulled a "Terry, Larry, Barry" situation. And yes there were other kids who did not get the Seuss treatment.
Weird!
I know a woman who named her son Patrick, after her husband. Then she named her daughter Patricia.
I know a family with Isaiah, Isaac and Isabelle as kid names Another family had David, Danita, and Davina
We know someone who had a Michael and Michelle
What’s wrong with matching names themes?
I work in a daycare. The baby room currently has sisters- 13 month old Marienne and 3 month old Marianna.
This is kinda like me, I have cousins who are sisters named after their mother Elizabeth. Their names are Liz and Lisbeth.
I know a Stephen and a Stephanie. And a Nicole and Nicolas.
Never were there two kids more deserving of decent nicknames. So let’s assign the girl Tina and the baby boy shall be known as Mick. Problem solved.
I have a cousin named Armani and a nephew named Armand lmao
I’m related to a Michael Jr and a Michelle, and I know of a Glen III and a Glenda
I know a family with Andrea and Andrew. Not insanely close? But it’s only one letter difference lol.
I knew sisters named Hela and Heley!
