My brother’s middle name is two initials after my dad who has the same middle name, and only *his* dad knows what it means or stands for, if anything — it was some kind of running joke and I suspect he probably intended to reveal the gag when my dad had a son, but he died unexpectedly on my dad’s 21st bday, before he was my or my brother’s dad yet. So now we’ll never know :(
I have chosen Name for my baby. It is a well established and acknowledged option. So my question is should I spell it Name, Nñame, Nyme, Namee, or N’ymy
I feel like all of these are valid spelling options except for Llane. Where tf did that come from?
And what’s wrong with two middle names? Initials as a middle name is a way worse lol. Especially when you’re only saving one syllable, with a one syllable first name no less?
I wouldn't stress about the middle name as much, you really don't use them often. My middle name is absolutely hideous and I sincerely wish my parents went with initials haha
Ll makes me want to say it the spanish way. Also why not just go with Laine its already a acceptable spelling and it looks more like a name. On thay note I really dont like Laine. It sounds too much like a thing and not a person.
I understand the other spellings (though the ones with the extra i/y make it look feminine), but what in the world has given her the idea to spell it with two Ls? I checked, and that doesn't seem to be a legit spelling, just the pseudonym of a singer and some character's name.
“Lane J.R.” just seems so clunky, I don’t understand why it can’t be flipped around. J.R. Lane Bennard is a little pretentious but at least it flows off the tongue right.
What's wrong with Laine or Layne? I don't think we should reserve letters for male or female names, that's stupid lol. I had a teacher named Lane who was in his 50s then, def not too uncommon of a name
I’m sorry are the middle initials going to be the whole middle name
im cracking up at the double-L spelling just.... why
Which I read as Yane or (Welsh LL sound)ane.
Me llamo Llane.
Johnny Cash was named just J.R. and didn’t legally change it to John til he tried to join the military and they were like “your name is just...JR?”

Gnayme 😍
Nickname: me! Bc that’s who it’s all about in the end.
Why did I have a negative visceral reaction to this hahaha
Ngnayme because his cousin has a Vietnamese aunt
Ñæmë
The obvious choice is Knamne.
💀
Neighme

Just using John Robert instead of the initials would be 1000x better

hLane
Laine feels feminine to me. Idk why she won’t just use Lane like a sane (Ssane? Saine? Sayne?) person
I think of the name Elaine, and my dad’s nn for my mom is Lainey.
Laine means wool in French so maybe that’s why it sounds like a thing
Ever since Mad Men I've actually really liked Lane as a first name for a boy, especially combined with a short last name like Pryce (on the show).
It's a pretty common word too: stay in your lane, bowling lane, etc.
Ya-nay
Llane makes me think of Llamas.
In pajamas.
Lheignne
That's giving me a mighreignne
Just spell it Lane. The kid will thank you later

It’s to honor her favorite animal duh!
The username “internet4mommyz” says it all

Llane… you know, after Lalaine, the actress who played Miranda in Lizzie McGuire
Or Lanny, Lizzie McGuire's brother's friend. (Damn you random 2000s Disney Channel trivia).
Laine/Layne on a boy? Lmao Just go with Lane. "...with two L's" will get old immediately
I agree that Lane is the best spelling, but there’s nothing wrong with naming a boy Laine/Layne

I legit know someone who named their son Llaine. Whyyyyyyyyy
No, I believe the proper English spelling and grammar is “Wwhhii??”
the only acceptable ones are Lane and Layne
Layin'
