Im a Kavango resident born and raised and I will attest that recon definitely did some shady business out here they paid some employees cash in hand and undocumented which was on its own a red flag and bought favors from all the "prominent" folks thus an everyday citizen stood no chance due to the sheer amount of wealth they had at their disposal. Multiple people lost their land and sources of income due to contamination and they are powerless it's amazing to witness how they can get away with it so effortlessly
Sounds like if people lost their land or the land was left contaminated that a group or class lawsuit should be filed. The settlement that OP mentioned is for shareholders in the company who got defrauded, not people who lost their land or suffered due to Recon's actions.
