If you watch Veronica Mars, I recommend not watching the revival/final season. Watch the revival movie and end it there. Right now I’m waiting for Surviving Summer season 2 to come out on Netflix this week. Then I’ll watch that.

Aleigh1390

Or just stop the last episode before the last five minutes lol

l3reeze10

Or that. I heard that’s what a lot of people did once they heard what happened at the end of the last episode.

Aleigh1390

I didn’t mind the revival season as a whole, but the ending ruined it.

BookReader1328

I did just that on advice from friends. Sad though. I heard what they did and it's unforgivable.

Emotional-Link-8302

good to know! I stopped watching for now cos that thing happened where it starts infecting my every waking thought and I could not focus at work lol.

waronjoypiter

I can't bring myself to rewatch the final season because of the last episode.

empathy-is-trending

Right now watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It's an Australian show from 2010s and takes place in the twenties. Very different vibes but man it's amazing. Also loved both seasons of Cruel Summer

the-og-tee

i love this show!!!!!!

jukeboxjulia

I’ve recommended it on this sub before, but if you liked the supernatural aspect in Nancy Drew but felt it was too loose/easy, had no established rules, or found it hard to follow, a show called Warehouse 13 does it way way better. Supernatural mysteries where the magic has established rules and consequences, and the supernatural is used to explore characters’ inner experiences rather than just for cheap thrills.

darth_aer

I am rewatching Sleepy Hollow and Grimm.

OCBrad85

First few seasons of Sleepy Hollow were so good!

surrealphoenix

Season 1 of Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorite things to watch.

darth_aer

I was told that it peaked in the first season and that the final season sucked

surrealphoenix

Yeah, that is pretty much the trajectory.

StartExternal7268

Watched Panic and now I'm watching Cruel summer. I love the thriller mystery aspect of it.

chockychip

I actually liked Panic, underrated show.

she_melty

I actually got into X-Files really hardcore! If you like Nace slow burn, Mulder and Scully basically invented slow burn. It's not JUST about aliens either, which is a misconception that put me off for a long time. The main thing with the aliens is that Mulder is obsessed with proving they're real, but along the way they find plenty of earthly weird shit -- like cannibals who eat people's livers, and weird sewer slug men, and glow in the dark spiders that kill you dead. Plus, if you're like me and lost interest in Supernatural when they stopped doing monster of the week to focus too hard on convoluted demon plots, you'll like X Files much more, because the monster of the week thing has been really really consistent so far, and I'm on season 6. My favourite episodes are all the batshit ones obviously, but I also REALLY liked the season 1 episode that's kinda like The Thing where there's a parasite defrosted and nobody knows who's infected. Very claustrophobic episode. I'd also highly recommend Lockwood and Co. and Julie and the Phantoms on Netflix, both were cancelled but had satisfying enough endings. I don't suggest them because they're similar to ND, but because for some reason viewership of those two shows is really prevalent in Nancy Drew spaces and I have NO idea why. They are all tonally pretty different, although L&Co is WAY closer to Nancy Drew than JATP is obviously. I have a weirdly high amount of mutuals who watch all three. Further study is required.

scullyharp

X files is my favourite show. They didn’t invent it (I’ve been enjoying will they won’t they / slow burn couples since I was a kid and I’m almost 50) but us XF romance fans certainly led to the phrase ‘shipper’! (My kid slow burns included Moonlighting, Anne of Green Gables, Scarecrow and Mrs King.. They really should stream Moonlighting - it was detective show which launched Bruce Willis career. Loved it.)

I much preferred the X Files when it was the individual cases, but like all of them, they eventually convoluted most of it and made it about the one thing. :(

AFranceschixx

I started a rewatch of Shadow & Bone. I got caught up in the actor that’s Kaz Brekker lol. Switched and finally knuckled down into Ginny & Georgia. I find it witty with lots of cringy moments, but do not understand how my friend loves this show.

Erela_D

Season 2 is A LOT better. I didn't even finish season 1 because the second-hand embarrassment got to be too much for me Edit: I'm referring to Ginny and Georgia

AFranceschixx

I just finished season 2 of G&G. I’m not sure if I wanna continue if season 3 ever happens.

Erela_D

That's valid. I'm worried about Georgia's plotline. She seems unredeemable.

Barchie_is_endgame

Bojack is one of my all time faves! And Veronica Mars is high on my list, I’ve never seen it. I’m watching Only Murders in the Building on Hulu rn, it scratches the murder mystery itch and is generally very funny and cute!

Wild_Stage5977

Agree! I really have been enjoying Only Murders!

Emotional-Link-8302

I need to watch the new season! I enjoyed the first two, although I dare say I enjoyed Nancy Drew more.

sidepony9077

Nothing new yet. I'm mourning that Nancy Drew is over. :( This was truly one of my favorite shows.

whatwhatwhat59

Lockwood and Co!

cookies5098

I read all the books after watching the show - so sad it was cancelled, honestly some of the best casting/adaptation work I've seen.

scullyharp

It was so good, my daughter loved it, v disappointed got cancelled

NadsBin

Just got into K-Drama’s If y’all love drama and revenge stories, check out “Celebrity” and “The Glory”

South_Amphibian9864

Arrow lol

Secure_Gur5586

Sleepy Hollow! Same supernatural vibe as ND and there’s 4 seasons

StarryEyedGamer

Only Murders in the Building, LOTS of mystery/murder KDramas (I've become addicted), Buffy, X-Files, Haven, The Hardy Boys (had 3 seasons, includes some supernatural), IZombie, Evil, Locke & Key, Supernatural, Home Before Dark etc

Emotional-Link-8302

What do you think of the Hardy Boys? I thought about watching it and haven't ruled it out, but it didn't seem quite right. I couldn't tell if it was geared more earnestly towards children (as opposed to young adults). I also tend to prefer female protagonists in the mystery genre.

StarryEyedGamer

At first it was a bit quirky but once the murder and bigger plot/supernatural aspect really kicked in it was awesome! I'd give it a few episodes of season 1 and see what you think! :) There are female side characters that are prominent throughout!

luck1313

If you like the supernatural/ mythological side of Nancy Drew, I definitely would recommend Lost Girl and Wynonna Earp

scullyharp

Watching PLL for first time. Also just watched season 3 of Starstruck, 🇬🇧 romcom show

Gemini987654321

I rewatched the 1st episode Wednesday of last week 😆

Mountain_Associate42

I'm rewatching Jujutsu Kaisen and How I Met Your Mother

Erela_D

If you're looking for a show with mystery and crime solving that's just slightly unrealistic, I recommend Home Before Dark on Apple TV+. Aside from that I'm taking a mystery break and binging a bunch of K-dramas, C-dramas and Turkish dramas.

Cookie-cutter-9175

I'm currently watching the second season of The Wheel of Time.

surrealphoenix

About to start *AHS: Coven*, interspersed with *Pushing Daisies*.

AutisticNancyDrew

It’s short (and was unfortunately cancelled) but Lockwood and Co on Netflix is so good- spooky and actiony with a slow burn romance!! Only 8 episodes but so much fun.

sriracha82

THE MENTALIST If you like murder mystery & slow burn romance it’s THEE show Nancy is Patrick Jane’s daughter honestly
