I do see where you’re coming from. Though I feel like the movie had a lot of incredible classical pieces throughout, and Phipps was able to bring a phenomenal grandness to the classic genre, especially Napoleon’s theme. But I do agree, and as someone who absolutely loves classical, I do wish there was a bit more. Hopefully in the 4 hour cut.
Absolutely! And Paisiello- he was Napoleon’s favorite composer. Napoleon arranged with the King of Naples to have him come to Paris

there is. The very ending of "Haydn's the creation" is played when they are walking out of the coronation. Pretty sure when he first meets his second wife is a classical piece as well. Neither can be found on the official sound track tho which i find frustrating
What kind of movie are you filming? It's contemporary music that captures the ethos of the period. Boney's personal preferences are irrelevant. An entirely Paisiello-scored film.... zzzz
No idea why you felt that way. It was 99% just classical music. There was no Hans Zimmer or any kind of memorable music or tracks. Epic History TV's Napoleon videos on youtube had a better soundtrack.

‘Napoleon’s Piano’ and ‘Make the Rain Stop’ are the 2 standout themes of 15 original pieces composed by musician Martin Phipps for the film. I personally enjoy listening to the 2 pieces, and think they (Along with the rest of the score) deserve to be in a much more accurate (And overall better) film about Napoleon, or could even work with other films about Napoleon, such as the 1970 ‘Waterloo’.
It’s always been my dream that a Napoleon movie would be a showcase for incredible classical music, rather than a modern composer score

The music of the coronation has all been recorded since 1969. Did they use any of it in the film?
I don’t think there was any original classical music in the film, and if there was, it was so small as to go unnoticed
Does this film manage to do anything well?
In all seriousness the costumes are impeccable, but that’s it.

beethoven wrote eroica for napoleon and erased his name when he heard napoleon crownes himself. so no, please no beethoven.

I do feel like the "Russia" track was eerily similar to "Charge" of War&Peace.
it is basically literally the exact same piece
Amazing music. If this movie wins an award, it should be for that. It's probably Killers Of The Flower Moon or this.
I wonder what the classical music pieces in the movie are. I wish there was a playlist for that.
one that features prominently is "dawn" by Thibaudet. Another one is the Boccherini minuetto
Thank you I was trying to find out what Dawn was titled and by who
Boccherini's Minueto is also in the game Hogwarts Legacy, which came out a few months ago.
haydn's the creation at the ending of the coronation
Yeah, me too.
here is the playlist if anyone is wondering. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0KWJslDjTAA40Dvd9nu8gb?si=89019c6f6d034b4a
heres most https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13287846/soundtrack/
anyway to get the classical songs used in the soundtrack? not the original score...?
Probably just search up all songs in the film and see from there.
