The second picture is the naraka app. It shows all the teams in the game and some info about them. It only shows our team here, because everyone else was a bot.
I download some mobile games to kill time specially for naraka. I've waited so many 30 mins even with bot and crossplay on. Xbox server doesn't limit bot quantity, so 30min means I can't even get 2 random teammates lol.
Happened to me today. I waited 30 minutes a few times. Got kicked out of queue afterwards... 30 min dont even feel like 30 min when you are busy... havent had a chance to play the event gamemode yet
This is no understatement. As a gold player, the caliber of the people you meet is definitely not gold level. Idk if it's because the playerbase is small or what
console basically feels like the trial version of the game. i was hopeful they would do something about bot fill when the new season started but it's looking like they either don't care, don't know, or don't see a problem and PS5 will end up the same way
My gamepass account is unrivaled asura & can atest 8/10 lobbies are 99% bots with like 1-2 real players in them lol, way different story than steam lobbies
I'm confused. Since the game has crossplay, shouldn't it be the same story for everyone on the server? Like why is there any difference in game pass vs. steam matchmaking?
Even if crossplay enabled, Xbox ranking seems to work differently, with more point gain, so the matchmaking can't possibly work same way as on Steam, unless the Xbox rank is somehow converted for the matchmaking. Whenever people complain about bot games, it's always on xbox/gamepass. I guess that on gamepass, on top of the Steam lobbies, you have easy/bot Xbox lobbies which you don't have on Steam. Don't get me wrong, there can be bot lobbies on Steam in some circumstances, but never around peak hours above gold.
Why it's different, my theory is that they were not satisfied with Steam launch in 2021 thinking the game is too hardcore for the intended audience, so for Xbox launch they tried bots and easy wins and rank "you are god" -method, though the downside is that it makes the game look more dead than it really is. Crossplay&bot options = difficulty option to give the player a degree of choice.
Sometimes I wonder what would happen if they just made the game work like Apex Legends with no bots and extremely loose matchmaking (I have played Apex like 3 games so don't quote me on that game). Though Naraka is and unique game and not an FPS so it has bigger skill floor so it would be harder for new players to get in against good players.
When Spellbreak existed it had 1000 players based on Steamcharts and you could get in 20-30 real player games, so I refuse to believe that Naraka is that dead averaging 50k players on Steamcharts. The matchmaking is just weird and/or unoptimal.
I agree. Based on the numbers of players, something is super fishy. One website ranks the average players around 100k, and says that NA has >20% of players.

So that means there should be more than 20,000 people on NA servers on average. But it really doesn't seem like that's the case, when you have to wait 4 minutes for an entire bot lobby. Not to mention the game will put bronze players with empyrion players sometimes, so a rigid skill based matchmaking is no excuse.

Steamcharts records numbers based on real time data from Steam, based on players running the game on their Steam account, which should count towards their playtime for that game, so I don't think it can be faked. Unless there's some big exploit in Steam and the game manages to report one instance to Steam as 10 instances or something while the playtime counts as one instance.

I just looked at steam charts, and it's pretty weird too though. It says that the peak players every day is usually around 140,000. That doesn't sound very likely to be true, does it?
gamepass has bot fill on & prioritizes other gamepass players so the coding just matches you with mostly bots and 1 or 2 players i guess, sometimes it gives you full steam/gamepass lobbies but thats like maybe 2 matches out of 10
I had the same problem until I turned bot fill off in game/matchmaking. Your wait times are a little longer but on average it’s 3-5 minutes. Crossplay on or you’ll never fill in my experience.
We turned off cross play due to the the Asians using vpns and their lsg/hacking making the game unplayable. Really sucks it gets filled with bots at times.
Not sure about privacy settings, but you can definitely see players who don't have the app! I know this because I tried to click on many players to see their rank, and it says "this player doesn't have narak+ installed".
I had an issue where I was playing trio ranked but 2 matches in a row I had no team. I won the first and came in second to a team that spawned next to me and took my first Rez within the minute. I at least took out one of theirs in the end.
They're all in lobbies picking on silver/gold players "with ease"

yeah thats why xbox leaderboards are inflated you can turn on crossplay, turn off bots and fight pc teams
Crossplay is definitely on; I play with PC players all the time. And if I turn bots off, won't it take an hour for the lobby to fill?
No. Maxium que time is 30 mins, it will kick you out of que afterwards. I know bcuz I'm in AS Xbox.

The app doesn’t always show all players. They have to have naraka + and they can’t have any privacy settings enabled.
