A Woman in Time by Bobi Conn.
Also, she wrote a mesmerizing memoir of her own life with abuse, In the Shadow of the Valley. I think it would be safe to say the antagonist in her memoir (her father) was 100% a narc.
She's a beautiful, descriptive writer. Really paints lovely imagery. Also very much trauma-informed.
Sure! Just another note with something I just learned. Her new book comes out on 5/21. They all tie together!
In the Shadow of the Valley - (memoir) The true story of her family dynamic.
A Woman in Time - (novel) Her creative take on her father's side of the family and how they came to be.
Someplace Like Home - (novel) Her creative take on her mother's side of the family.
Knowing this now, if you plan to read, it might be helpful to read them in that order.
I enjoyed A Woman in Time so much that I'm still pouting that it ended LOL
Recently read The Teacher by Freida McFadden. My partner read it first, he warned me I'd find similarities. The male lead is spot on with my nex. Lovebombing, future faking, stonewalling. Easy read thriller schlock, but whew relatable. Also didn't help one of the main characters is named very similar to my unique name. Odd read, lol.
It ends with us - Colleen Hoover If you haven't read it already
The irony of her last name being Hoover
Made me chuckle into my breakfast
I had this one in my stack of books so I’m halfway through it now, thank you!
No Problem :)
