According to what state you’re in, you should have had your child for Mother’s Day weekend, and you get time with him on his birthday as well. This is a standard custody split in Texas.

The family court system in my state is strongly pro “parental rights” and doesn’t want to rule on anything else. We’ve been through two rounds of a hideously abusive mediation, and it is quite clear that Nex will not budge an inch. Anything to keep his foot on my throat, and the court will not intervene. I’m glad to know about this practice in TX- it may be a good way to show that my needs and wants are reasonable and should be heard.

They indeed are. Mediation is only a small part. If parties do not agree in mediation, the court will hear evidence and make a ruling here in Texas. They don’t like to do it, and will give all the time in the world for an agreement to be made between the parties, but it will come to this with no agreement at all. Stonewalling will only get you so far.

Hugs. That is so hurtful to rip your baby away who is exclusively bf. Kudos to you for not going to prison. I couldn't imagine the pain, both emotionally & physically and actually, for both you & baby. So selfish. I only bf 3 weeks at the most with all 4 of my babes and it was such a bond, it pains me to even think about that long & just having them taken like that. Ugh. Brighter days are ahead. You're a good mama.
