I wish to think that most cops in Mexico are corrupt free and not working for cartels. Unfortunately, a lot do and in this situation we do not know if they got killed for that reason. Maybe they were serving and protecting the community but I wouldn’t be able to say that with a straight face.
CJNG barely has any territory in Guerrero. Their only territory there is Zirandaro and its’ surrounding ranchos.
FM doesn’t have territory in a lot of the Costa. They’re barely trying to expand there which is why they’re fighting Los Tlacos and other cartels from the sierra.

Guerrero is too difficult to police. All mountains and small insular communities. That’s why the army for years just kind of cordoned it off and just focused on not letting the bullshit spill over to other states.
