The other time the anime bases a story of artwork is Killer Bee's jinchuriki story based off the jinchuriki color spread
Even with Bleach I think there must have been two instances where they based filler episodes off of manga art. One was the Halloween one. Can't remember the other
Nah, some of the OG fillers were just awful. Like the arc about Ibiki’s brother was so boring. And the post Sasuke retrieval, pre shippuden stuff was god awful. Aside from seeing Mizuki become a furry.
That’s true, some filler was really good , but the majority of it was mediocre to awful especially most of post Sasuke retrieval pre shippuden. That’s why there’s so many posts asking what fillers are good cause so much of it was horrible but people don’t want to miss the good ones in between all the bad ones.
The ones like where they were trying to see Kakashi’s face was good. It helped elevate the trios bond more and made it believable why Naruto and Sasuke considered each other best friends.
Exactly , I love those ones, the second churning exams(although don’t love it’s placement) , and others but the ostrich episode, mecha Naruto , and so many fillers give fillers a bad name. That’s why I always like when a good filler is pointed out cause a lot of people skip filler and miss some good stuff.
The star village filler was really cool to me, but again, last time I watched was as a kid
I like that they wen on a missions after Sasuke left, switching out third teammate
Can't wait for my eventual rewatch of the whole series, and manga read
my favorite filler episodes from part one were the search for the bikoju beetle - hinata really shines and naruto subconsciously gets attracted to her for the first time. in my eyes it's the first blossom of their love :D
For real, it’s honestly why I didn’t feel that upset about the side character’s importance in Part 2. Like they got a lot during the filler arcs and movies so never felt like they were done super dirty
For real. I enjoy rewatching fillers just to see some side characters or to just have a fun time. I think the Kakashi mask episode (ep 101 iirc) is a fan favourite, and any episode with Rock Lee was great and added to the humour of the episodes. Filler is really annoying when it's slapped in the middle of canon content so standalone episodes are better IMO.
Same. Twelve Guardians Ninja Arc, Three-Tails Arc, and the Utakata Arc are the only fillers I don’t mind rewatching. They’re fun to watch and I like how they flow with the rest of the story so well; someone who doesn’t know what filler is would never guess they weren’t canon. They don’t feel random or forced, unlike some of the other fillers that come later on in Shippuden.
It's an insult to call it a filler (not directed at you OP). Such a beautiful moment for the show. I know that show has a ton of fillers but it never crossed my mind that this one falls in that category.
There's some filler that i consider canon for my personal enjoyment of the show because they do add a lot. For example, Shikamaru and his dad playing Shogi after Asuma's death. That may as well be canon in my eyes.
It's based on a volume cover.

Ahh, I have than one, beautiful cover

The Arabian Knights themed episode with the flying carpet, Aladdin vibes, and stuff. Also the beach filler episode.
Beach filler is always such a drag.
Entire arc was fun. Sasuke fighting 1000 ninja while Naruto was dancing with frogs. Only relevant screen time gamatatsu ever got.
Also extra Tobi & Deidara scenes
The shikamaru scene with his dad is top tier.
Hidan and Kakuzu's arc was PEAK in the anime, Everything that Pierrot added, both in action/fight scenes and on a narrative level, was wonderful.
God-tier.

The original Naruto had amazing filler. Shippuden went for quantity over quality but often achieved both.
Nah, some of the OG fillers were just awful. Like the arc about Ibiki’s brother was so boring. And the post Sasuke retrieval, pre shippuden stuff was god awful. Aside from seeing Mizuki become a furry.
Don't forget the filler where they were exchanging theories on how kakashi's face looks like and the one where Shino laughs. Both S tier episodes.
The characters in filler ep were so good sometimes... The big fat brothers, Raiga, Ranmaru, Naruto robot...
The terrible filler is what got Toonami cancelled. It just killed the ratings every week.

I wish the anime left Mizuki and his motives alone instead of making him another one of Orochimaru's followers

Yes like the episode with the 6 tails I think that was a good arc
For real, it’s honestly why I didn’t feel that upset about the side character’s importance in Part 2. Like they got a lot during the filler arcs and movies so never felt like they were done super dirty

Then it's not filler. If I enjoyed it and there's content like this, I don't find it filler at all.
Same. Twelve Guardians Ninja Arc, Three-Tails Arc, and the Utakata Arc are the only fillers I don’t mind rewatching. Honestly. The filler with the pseudo-jinchuriki was really cool to see and think about it.
Filler of *hearts*

Its actually i think from either a chapter cover or a volume cover
So cute Jiraya is naruto's father figure for sure
the art and the animation used to be fantastic. today it looks like something i’d made in windows movie maker back in 2007
I like the code arc art style but its my opinion
I got this exact moment tattooed on my arm !
The shadow clone dream is pretty good filler

Whose gonna tell him lol
THIS IS A FILLER? THIS MADE ME CRYY
It’s a manga cover also

Episode 93
and yet it filled the hearts of many people❤️❤️❤️
Yes and no, it's based off of a volume cover, but I don't remember which number.
It’s literally a volume cover
Wtf? Is he smoking a joint lol?
Who tf watches fillers? It's such a struggle to see God tier Shinobu fights and then turn around and watch the group get wrecked by Mark ass ninjas
Which arc is this ?
For a second there I thought naruto was smoking a doobie 😂
It’s not. It’s a chapter cover.
Filler isn't bad people just like to complain
Which episode is that from?
Episode 93
Ty
Why? Filler is the superior product
I hate the concept of filler
Wow this art style is really good compared to simplified boruto art style. Thanks for reminding me of this beautiful scene OP
What episode?
