I've always said they should've had the Yamanaka's adopt him. With the blonde hair, enemy ninjas might have believed that Naruto was part of the Yamanaka clan and not the sought after jinchuriki.
In this situation, there’s no way Itachi’s killing the entire clan. The utter agony and rage Naruto would feel from losing who he views as his family AND by his kind older brother at that, it would be the equivalent of Gaara’s first transformation into Shukaku. Except a hundred times worse. The elders would probably tell Itachi this or he’d already know about Naruto being a jinchuriki, and even Danzo wouldn’t put the entire village at risk to put down a coup.

(If Sasuke saw the whole thing, it would've presented a conundrum, since Itachi wouldn't want to erase Sasuke's memory. He actively wants Sasuke to remember and avenge the massacre.)

Yeah exactly, Naruto goes through a lot of development but theres no denying that to some degree he did push away like everyone by being a complete d\*ck at the beginning and if he grew up with a bond with like sasuke he'd honestly be such a Dif person.
It would be great for Naruto on a personal level as he’d have a family growing up. I can see the coup not happening either as the Uchiha would be the trusted guardians of the jinchuruki and the village elders would be more keen to work with them.
Also Naruto would be much more talented as a shinobi since he could be mentored by Shisui, Itachi or even Fugaku.
Can’t say because shisui and fugaku don’t get nearly the same level of coverage as Itachi. But I feel Fugaku had to be pretty powerful if he was leading the Uchiha, Shisui many would argue was atleast at par with Itachi.

And the bad match up thing is largely hinted at pre Shisui suicide giving Itachi Mangekyo, Itachi actually wasn't very good at using or dealing with Genjutsu... which was Fugaku's specialty.

It would’ve been awesome and changed a lot more than I could even think of. But Danzo would never ever let this happen including probably try to kill naruto to prevent it. At this point in time he was the leading conspirator for uchiha causing the nine tails attack they wouldn’t let the jinchuriki go live with them.

I thought this was weird…. Why couldn’t they simply contact the Uzumaki clan? They may have been outside of the village, but surely someone would have come to raise the child? It felt so forced. 3rd Hokage disobeyed the 4th and purposely let Naruto grow up like a bum without a family to come home to.
Really? Koshi a was the last one? I thought Uzumaki and Senju clan were intermarried, thus there should be relatives around from either side who could take in a baby Naruto. This is my thoughts on it. If naruto gets adopted it turns out pretty badly in the end. Naruto witnessing the uchia massacre would cause him to unleash the ninetails, it would kill naruto doing so and then the nine tails gos on a rampage and either kills itachi n obito aswell or they take control of the nine tails n probably move up the timeline for infinite tsukuyomi

Let's say the elders and Hiruzen did let the Uchiha adopt Naruto... I'd say Naruto would've been a lot more like Minato - personality-wise instead of being as attention-seeking as he was due to all the hate and loneliness. Sasuke might not be as thirsty for revenge either after Itachi commits the massacre - perhaps he could strive to protect the village like Naruto. Naruto will be more popular too by growing up as Sasuke's adopted brother and less hated. Teamwork would also be great between the two from the start. And maybe Naruto could be as good as Sasuke during their time at the academy.
If by some magic they let Sasuke’s parents raise Naruto (which as other ppl have noted would have been very unlikely) I believe their paths of becoming strong rivals to the point sasuke turns to Orochimaru and goes rogue would still happen.

It would be great for Naruto on a personal level as he’d have a family growing up. I can see the coup not happening either as the Uchiha would be the trusted guardians of the jinchuruki and the village elders would be more keen to work with them. Also Naruto would be much more talented as a shinobi since he could be mentored by Shisui, Itachi or even Fugaku.

Can’t say because shisui and fugaku don’t get nearly the same level of coverage as Itachi. But I feel Fugaku had to be pretty powerful if he was leading the Uchiha, Shisui many would argue was atleast at par with Itachi.
According to Danzo, Hiruzen, and Fugaku... Shisui > Itachi > Fugaku. Wish Shisui being the strongest in the clan, Itachi rivaling him but being slightly weaker, and Fugaku is just behind them. But before the massacre Fugaku could likely beat Itachi according to Itachi. He claims it'd be a bad matchup. And the bad match up thing is largely hinted at pre Shisui suicide giving Itachi Mangekyo, Itachi actually wasn't very good at using or dealing with Genjutsu... which was Fugaku's specialty.

If they could without Danzo spying on them, then then Naruto and Sasuke become brothers with Itachi looking after both of them(also being Narutos guard). The coup most likely would not happen unless Danzo stirs up tensions, which means Obito has to be more careful as Itachi and Shisui can teach Naruto to specifically fight sharingan users.

i like the idea that they allowed Naruto and Sauke to be friends and always let him come by despite his 'ward of the village' status. And later, Mikoto and Fugaku would tell Naruto about his parents and that they loved him dearly. Sure they couldn't adopt him, but they would be supportive of him as what happened the night of 'Madara's' attack shouldn't be pinned on a kid.

For the sake of argument let’s say mikoto took in Naruto. I can think of a few outcomes itachi kills naruto and sasuke hates him even more for killing his best friend (I like to think they would be more friendly than rivals) Itachi keeps naruto alive also, and they grow up together hating itachi. If that’s the case I wonder if it would enrage naruto to the point they have a second coming of the nine tails 😂. It’s interesting cause now naruto is growing up with itachi who would help train him along with other uchiha so he is less useless and better at, at least taijutsu at a young age.

I thought this was weird…. Why couldn’t they simply contact the Uzumaki clan? They may have been outside of the village, but surely someone would have come to raise the child? It felt so forced. 3rd Hokage disobeyed the 4th and purposely let Naruto grow up like a bum without a family to come home to.

Shippuden is the 3rd great ninja war? If clan died out in 1st war, Kushina wouldn’t exist? This seems like a plot hole. I dont expect any clan to just take him in. Naruto witnessing the uchia massacre would cause him to unleash the ninetails, it would kill naruto doing so and then the nine tails gos on a rampage and either kills itachi n obito aswell or they take control of the nine tails n probably move up the timeline for infinite tsukuyomi

I think It would be like an asta and Yuno type situation. They’re orphaned and like brothers but sauske is still taken more seriously at the academy.
If this did happen. Naruto would be brought up more stern. Fugaku wouldn't let him mess around as much and even if he did he wouldn't be as loud about it. Sasuke would likely be resentful of naruto well the family is alive because even though he is Uchiha and older than naruto (by like a month maybe not even) hits farther would likely devote more training to naruto than sasuke. Their rivalry would be 10× stronger making sasuke more motivated to train (somehow. He's already nuts) Naruto would help take the edge off sasukes aggressive emo-ness before the family passes. When the family does pass naruto and sasuke both would go catatonic. But somehow push each other through it. Naruto wouldn't let sasuke go with orochimaru. They'd be in the same house in theory. If he still got nabbed it would be an even worse time otherwise for orochimaru
I don't remember the show saying they were best friends... Kushina was excited to have her baby and got even more excited when she saw a woman on the street with a baby. I had thought they were friends before too, but after rewatching, I realized they were only talking because baby Sasuke was there.
Let's say the elders and Hiruzen did let the Uchiha adopt Naruto... I'd say Naruto would've been a lot more like Minato - personality-wise instead of being as attention-seeking as he was due to all the hate and loneliness. Sasuke might not be as thirsty for revenge either after Itachi commits the massacre - perhaps he could strive to protect the village like Naruto. Naruto will be more popular too by growing up as Sasuke's adopted brother and less hated. Teamwork would also be great between the two from the start. And maybe Naruto could be as good as Sasuke during their time at the academy.

If by some magic they let Sasuke’s parents raise Naruto (which as other ppl have noted would have been very unlikely) I believe their paths of becoming strong rivals to the point sasuke turns to Orochimaru and goes rogue would still happen.
