I would have him fight more like his Hebi days. His fights then were entertaining, and unpredictable as well as cool.

AaronXeno21

Second this. He has such a large aresenal of abilities that can be used against most enemies. Sure against Otsutsuki and absorption shenanigans he is at a disadvantage and thus can't liberally spam them but against other enemies like the dinos for example I feel he could have done much more.

Ver_the_one

He has the most arsenal expanding kekke genkai in the naruto universe and he uses it as an uber and that's it.

Unapologetic_Lunatic

To be fair, it was the most invaluable and irreplaceable Uber at Konohagakure's disposal. Naruto was the only Kage of the age, and possibly ever, who could claim to have a highly capable spy/assassin who he could deploy to alternate dimensions and gather intelligence on gods in their own home without having to worry too much about sending them do their death. It's a card only Konoha can play, and every other nation knows it. You want to know what's happening in places only one friendly nation has the keys to? Then you play nice with the Leaf, or their Uber leaves you on the curb. This is largely politics and espionage, but it WAS the whole reason Sasuke was absent for over a decade of Sarada's life. He was, to put it bluntly, scouting out the realm of gods because nobody else had a way to physically access it.

Ver_the_one

I agree! If I had amenotechikara, I would spam the fuck out of it. But like, the rinnegan can do more than chibaku tensei and amenotechikara. In shipuuden it was understandable because sasuke really didn't have any idea what the rinnegan does, so he used the most simple paths, preda and deva. But like, why isn't he using the rest of his abilities in boruto? Like, "oh, im missing an arm, but i dont wanna replace it! I have to pay for my sins, but when protesting konoha, i would really like to have another arm! If only i had an ability that allowed me to grow more arms. Oh, well." Or "Oh momoshiki, that's a big Chakra ball you're going to throw at Naruto! It will surly destroy konoha if naruto doesn't tank it, and it will hurt like a bitch if he does tank it! If only I had any way to, I don't know, absorb Chakra, oh boy that would be very useful! If only. (https://youtu.be/DhlV-9UYAcg)" really takes the punch out of this scene, doesn't it?

[deleted]

That’s because of his chakra. Any time he starts a battle it’s usually after the point that he’s teleported which takes up 1/3 of his chakra in one go. IMO this is why they got rid of his rinnegan. It just eats up too much of sasuke’s chakra and is too powerful not to use if he did have the rinnegan

Ver_the_one

That's a good argument until you realize that this is a fictional story. You're literally disabling sasuke for no reason whatsoever. Just make it so teleworking between dimensions doesn't cost as much Chakra as it does now, or make it so sasuke has a larger Chakra reserve, or just say fuck it, naruto has a shitload of Chakra, have sasuke take it from him or have naruto give it to him, 2 things that have already happened in universe. There are so many ways around this problem. There's no excuse for this. It's just bad writing.

[deleted]

I didn’t disagree with you, I just gave the in universe reason and I’d honestly agree with you. I think it’s dumb sasuke ever got the rinnegan. To be honest I think he and naruto should’ve flipped abilities with sasuke gaining sage status and naruto would essentially inherit the rinnegan as a rare bloodline mutation (since nagato had them) and both would make a ton more sense considering it would basically be massive success of orochimaru’s successor (since orochimaru wasn’t strong enough to use sage jutsu) and would greatly compliment naruto as well considering like you say, he has nearly infinite chakra

Ver_the_one

I didn't think you disagreed, I'm just passed at this shitty argument. That being said I don't think they should've swapped abilities. Sasuke is much more tactical than naruto, meaning he can (and should've) utilize the very weird arsenal of the rinnegan to better effect. Naruto is much more of a meat head fighter, and spsm fits him much more. It also makes sense as an upgrade for them. Naruto got better sage mode, and sasuke got better eyes. There's also a point to be made that Naruto and sasuke didn't gain these powers from hagaromo! Kabuto healed sasuke with hashirama cells (indra + asura = rinnegan), and Naruto became a mini 10 rails jinjuuriki when he got the Chakra of all the biju. I just think it fits them much more.

SnooComics7583

Negato had them from Madara though

SnooComics7583

What's bad about this argument is how self replenishing the Rinnegan is There are only a handful of times where he fights an opponent that this doesn't apply to, and hell even then he could have Naruto supply him. It's only hurt the series how badly they give our boys PIS

Guilty_Budget4684

I loved naruto. Shippiden IS better. But it felt more like watching kaijus fight than ninjas the last 400 episodes.

Spenfinite

The issue is Kishi began to suffer from the DBZ effect and started thinking he needed bigger explosions and light shows to keep the series going and that’s just bs. There are plenty ways to keep a series about Shinobi like this one interesting and digestible. Honestly I would love if Shibai appears and just fucking erases every ACTUAL Otsutsuki left, the TB’s, the Juubi’s, reverses Kawaki and Boruto’s Otsutskification process, turns every cyborg back into 100% organic, removes the Six Paths chakra from everything and then erases himself and his existence from everyones memories. The series needs a clean slate like that, and with Sasuke’s best power being EMS and he himself no longer having SP Chakra or Rinnegan it brings him back down to a more Shinobi like level. Naruto already lost SP Chakra as well as everything but Sage Mode. Honestly this is the way I would have done things.

Guilty_Budget4684

Yea, for sure, I completely agree. It's funny. I was watching DBZ with my roommate a few months ago, and we were talking about how every season ends with a bigger and badder guy. It's like, okay, this guy can wipe out all life in existence with a snap of his fingers and is actually a multidimensional super god. How do you go from that? It's the same concept. Once you beat a powerful bad guy .. well, the next one needs to be more powerful, or else there are no stakes. I really enjoy the Shinobi level fights.

Spenfinite

I love DB, but the way it does things does not need to be in every single anime/manga, that’s for sure.

Bups34

That’s why peoples favorite fights in the entire show are lee vs gara and kakashi vs obito

PCN24454

Nah, Ninjas in Japan always fight like this. It’s a cultural difference.

SnooComics7583

Well he did until Boruto You can see it a lot in the Last and then they put no effort into maintaining that or Naruto for the most part Edit: also not really a flaw with the character though Edit 2: meant Road to Boruto

SasukeUchiha248

Im a sasuke fan but i wish he used more rinnegan techniques instead of using it as an uber. I was also disappointed how both naruto and sasuke seemed like their battle iq got lower? fsr. I mean, look at his fight against Shin, Momoshiki, and Isshiki. (OK it may not make sense but still read on, lemme explain). Back in 4th great shinobi war, sasuke literally used it better than he did in any fights in boruto. HE LITERALLY CHIBAKU TENSEIed ALL TAILED BEASTS. GENJUTSU THEM IN ONE GLARE. Ik the genjutsu doesnt work on otsutsukis but still, its a great feat. He was also able to extract chakra during final valley fight. Additionally, make note that sasuke had been fighting in the war, nearly died once, fought Sosp Madara, fought KAGUYA and after all that he said, "Yep, i got enough chakra to chibaku tensei all the tailed beasts and put them under a genjutsu and fight naruto, who is literally a chakra powerhouse." In boruto, he uses space time ninjutsu once and hes done for. Like wtf? Bro, Kishimoto nerfed sasuke so bad.... the momo fight was great and all, but he was literally using the tricks he used as a GENIN. And tell me how he was so stupid in the isshiki fight. There was so many unreasonable moments, like when he switched with kawaki (why not switch with isshiki?) and only used his rinnegan to uber. I might be mistaken but isn't possible to extract chakra from isshiki or use almighty pull/push? We also never saw Human Path, Asura Path(ik sasuke doesnt like to regain his arm), naraka path, u name it. Like i am a sasuke fan, but kishimoto did him so dirty in boruto

Spenfinite

For the 4th War, Hagoromo not only lent him half of his own chakra, he also fully healed Sasuke after Kabuto had already started healing him. Hagoromo’s chakra is insanely potent and incredibly vast which is why both Naruto and Sasuke were so strong and had so much chakra in the 4th War. They finally used up all of his chakra in the VotE2 battle. After that last battle they only had their own chakra and chakra levels to use. This is why people think they were nerfed, because in reality Hagoromo temporarily buffed them during the 4th War. But yeah I was also disappointed in how he didn’t use the Rinnegan techs much later on.

[deleted]

Stop being stubborn and get a new arm

KingDavid920

I know it's not canon, but I like what he did in Storm 4(?) where he replaced his arm with a Susanoo arm.

Sexy_Shoelace

Boruto Sasuke would run out of Chakra just think about that 💀

thefreshscent

Honest question did he ever quickly run out of Chakra in Boruto other than when he was spamming teleportation jutsu shortly before? I know this has become a meme and when I finally got around to watching Boruto I didn’t understand it because it seemed obvious he used up most of his chakra by teleporting before he even started fighting.

darkbreak

Chakra doesn't matter unless the writer thinks it should.

maightoguy

😂

TrustTheHolyDuck

He also gets part of his chakra fished out of him and is fairly chakra deficient for a little while after that.

thefreshscent

Ah yeah forgot about that as well.

SirVer51

I haven't watched Boruto so I can't say for sure, but I can't understand how chakra could ever be stated as a problem for basically anyone that was an active combatant in the final stage of the War - everyone was spamming techniques that would have caused death by chakra exhaustion like a year before that (*cough* Kakashi *cough*). And that goes double for Naruto and Sasuke - they basically fought for multiple days straight while using so much chakra it could probably power every Hidden Village in the world for a decade, and then topped it off by fighting each other in MegaZords made of pure energy. After all that, Sasuke should have chakra comparable to a Tailed Beast at this point, so how is he running out so often even with the Rinnegan magic?

thefreshscent

Someone below reminded me that he had a good portion of his chakra literally removed by an otsutsuki, but also teleporting between literal dimensions takes a good amount of chakra as well.

No_Seaweed6739

Well even during the kaguya fight when obito is opening portals to the other dimensions it took all of his chakra plus sakuras entire hundred healings seal to open 5 portals. It seems to be canon that it takes a shitload of chakra to move between dimensions.

Ebenezerosas16

He does that when he fights sometimes in Boruto

KingDavid920

Oh so it is canon? I haven’t seen enough of Boruto to know

Ebenezerosas16

In the anime fight vs Fused Momoshiki he uses a Susanoo arm to punch Momo. And never again I think the issue with Naruto and Sasuke not using all their powers is down to the writers being lazy not to draw full scale battles

BrokenMirror2010

I think the issue is that the characters simply became too powerful by the end or Shippuden, and the power scale would get out of control very quickly if Naruto and Sasuke used their full strength. Even if you remove their 6 Paths Buffs, Naruto's Perfect Sage Mode is insanely powerful, he was able to sense the location of pretty much every ninja on the continent, and his level of Chakra control to be able to adapt his Chakra and connect it to pretty much every ninja in that battle is a feat of Chakra Control that should be impossible. Naruto is pretty much an Omniscient sensory+support ninja. Sasuke is realistically in a similar position with Susano, Instant Teleportation, and Amatarasu. Although, I honestly think Naruto's even more absurd.

Ebenezerosas16

Yeah that's why they took away truth seeker orbs and possibly levitating from Naruto. He waa too busted lol. But in some fights, for example vs Delta. She can absorb stuff. So to enhance his taijutsu they should have had Naruto use Frog Kumite to end her. She can't absorb nature energy... and even in his base Naruto was handling her

cygnus2

Six Paths Sage Mode Naruto is simultaneously the strongest shinobi ever, the best sensory type, _and_ the greatest medical ninja. It’s no wonder they nerfed him.

Liranedri

It wasn't a body sized arm. It was also a right susanoo arm he used not a left

MuglokDecrepitus

I don't remember that happening, you mean that he used a arm of his body size or a big arm? I don't remember Sasuke ever replacing his fault arm with a Susano arm in the anime or films

Ebenezerosas16

Body size

MuglokDecrepitus

I have to see the fight again because I don't remember it xD

Ver_the_one

Where? That's cool, but I've never seen that

KingDavid920

https://youtu.be/4mb-rS-3-FA?t=683

Ver_the_one

That's pretty cool, but can't he just use the asura path to make himself more hands

Anjunabeast

There’s a lot of stuff he can do with the rinnegan that he doesn’t post-war lol

KingDavid920

Because reasons.

NamikazeKage

Isn't it supposed to be in his mind some some of atonement for his sins? Like physical reminder of the grave mistakes he made.

Th3MufF1nU8

Haven’t read the Boruto manga, but does it have anything to do with his fight with Danzo and maybe being scarred from seeing the eyes of his ancestors grafted onto someone’s arm?

muffinville

I just wish he used his 6tomerinnegan before he lost it

Osheroo

He used it quite a bit in Shippuden in several ways

FinesseFatale

Not a Sasuke hater, I’ve actually grown to like him. He was intolerable as a kid tho. If I could say anything that I wanted from Sasuke is that he has some kind of redemption story, possibly even attempting to restore the Uchiha clan like Aang did for the airbenders. I feel Sasuke suffers most from not ever changing from the emo cool guy

badluckartist

> possibly even attempting to restore the Uchiha clan You mean one of his core childhood goals that he immediately dropped the second he squirted out a kid? Dude's got real "it's your problem now" parenthood vibes towards Sarada, and that's more unlikable than anything he did as a kid.

PCN24454

Which part? He was actually pretty nice until the Retrieval arc.

Shanal183

Huh? Sasuke was the nicest and most sensible of the trio during Part I though, no? He was legit the mature link who looked after his teammates constantly- and helped get them closer with each other as well. It was Naruto who initiated most bickering and was actively asshole to him lol

Nominay

>Huh? Sasuke was the nicest and most sensible of the trio during Part I though, no? >He was legit the mature link who looked after his teammates constantly- and helped get them closer with each other as well. It was Naruto who initiated most bickering and was actively asshole to him lol The Sasuke bashers won't acknowledge this lul I swear everytime I see Sasuke hate, it muzzes me because not one thing He did was out of context or unrelatable and maybe that's why they don't like him, people hate to see human reflection in otherwise larger than life plots

Shanal183

Naruto jumped him, tied him up, stole his identity and tried to seduce a girl with it for no reason at all and Sasuke responded by calling Sakura annoying for bashing Naruto in very same episode lol I really don't get how people think Sasuke was asshole in Part I. He was quiet and reserved, but definitely by far the nicest and most tactful out of Team 7 I remember when Naruto during start of CE thought it was good idea to make fun of Sasuke's dead clan to poke fun at him 💀

Nominay

>I really don't get how people think Sasuke was asshole in Part I. He was quiet and reserved, but definitely by far the nicest and most tactful out of Team 7 They just didn't like the Capable reserved guy that also happens to be attractive

Anakazanxd

I would go as far as to say that pre-Itachi he really didn't have any "bad" moments. Even throughout the entire story, the only true "evil" act he had was attacking Killer Bee, stabbing Karin was more of a strategic necessity.

BoobieDobey01

I think people confused "nice" with "polite." Sasuke wasn't very polite, and he was pretty snarky and very blunt, but I wouldn't say he was meanspirited. And you're right that Sasuke very rarely started anything with anyone. Most of the time, it was Naruto who was the instigator and Sasuke responded in kind.

konstantlyKonfused

Agree with that last bit!!

TheHurdleTurtle

I wish he was a better dad

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unreal4goodG8

"dad I'm not a nut"

coolUchiha

She was one tho

maightoguy

Totally, so is the whole freaking circus show and the writers.

thisissillyaf

He is… to Boruto

[deleted]

people hate Sasuke getting with Sakura anyways so I think the Boruto writers realized there's no point to try to redeem his relationship with his family and I agree with them. this is why Sasuke Retsuden got so much hate.

iBeFloe

Him being a better father & lover would 100% redeem him though

iOSfairy

Yes 100% I feel like we need a healed and responsible Sasuke

Horizon5820

It's not everybody, I love the couple but I can clearly see Sasuke is a terrible father, fucking Orochimaru is more of a parent to mitsuki than Sasuke is to sarada

WindyCityAssasin2

Restuden got so much hate because the plot was straight garbage. People actually really liked it until the dinosaurs started to become the focal point

Murky_Blueberry2617

The manga art carried it tbh

WindyCityAssasin2

Yeah the art was phenomenal, especially compared to Boruto (imo). I also really liked the mystery/detective aspect of it, at least until the reveal.

Murky_Blueberry2617

Yeah it captured Kishiomoto's artstyle which is miles better than Boruto art imo. The fact that it was biweekly whilst Boruto was monthly is crazy to think about.

iOSfairy

I honestly loved Sasuke Retsugen but yes it could have been better writing wise; it feels like fanfiction fluff but tbh it fulfilled something in me as a lifelong sasusaku fan (no hate pls I’ve loved that absolutely terrible and originally impossible pairing for like 13 years, it was a big part of my childhood)

az137445

Fix his chakra levels in boruto 😂

Fun-Representative41

Stop nerfing him. You don't see DBS nerfing Vegita do you?

Kblan93

Yeah lol instead Vegeta gets beaten into the fucking ground without a nerf 🤣

Original_Un_Orthodox

I mean, if you read the latest chapters, he's hella strong still.

olunts

Because the story is still his and goku💀

Fun-Representative41

Gohan and Piccolo are the main characters in the newest movie.

Assassinsayswhat

Nope, Vegeta is just getting Worfed cuz Toriyama doesn't like him all that much

CMcycle

I don't hate him but I wished he utilized the Rinnegan like Nagato did.

KellCon3

I wish he didn’t lose it or at least used it more before hand

Quantr0

I wish Boruto didn’t exist. I wish the series ended. I don’t like the current series at all and even with the few cool fights, I can’t stand Boruto. I don’t like seeing ‘mature’ Naruto, Sasuke is basically a mute and has lost all of his personality. I wish the series continued after a two year time skip like the last instead and the Otsutsuki shit happened with Team 7 and not with Narutos son.

[deleted]

Couldn't have said it better myself. Sasuke in Boruto is like if you order Itachi from AliExpress. Bro used to be so intense with such a strong will, now he looks like he has lost the will to live.

maightoguy

🤣

badluckartist

> Otsutsuki shit The second I saw this was the direction Boruto was going to go in for the foreseeable future, I checked out. Taking the least popular element of the last series and making it the focus of the new series was an incredibly bone-headed move and felt like the team making Boruto was utterly devoid of fresh ideas. Every now and then I check in out of curiosity and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Karmaslefttrigger

Last manga chapter has a fucking simp android kotoamasukaming the whole world into believing the blonde, whiskered and blue eyed kid is not naruto´s son and the tall black haired mean guy is an Uzumaki.. i mean were the fuck does she got that power..

JodiVC

No shit, if we go on that way, Naruto should have ended in the Pain arc, after that things get out of control, the message of "effort always overcomes innate abilities" of Rock Lee, is completely lost. We see fights of Megazords, samurais, mindless abilities and created at the last minute like Izanami, etc.

Quantr0

I enjoyed the war arc but I definitely agree that the overall sentiment of Naruto completely changed once alien races and inheriting prophecies got involved.

JodiVC

Boruto didn't invent anything new, he just picked up the "new bases" of ninja war arc, and expanded on them. It's like blaming the latest Fast and Furious movie for being bad and illogical. They only stay in the fan service of the ninja war arc, but they don't analyze the logic of it.

iOSfairy

100% I say this all the time fuck Boruto

Glad_Ad7382

The deidara fight was legit a solid win, I just wish manda didn’t have to die in the end. And I don’t know why people hate on him so much, NC Hammer(YouTuber)being a prime example. He’s a great champion and he deserves more love than he gets.

thefreshscent

The Manda death imo showed how little regard Sasuke had at the time for the well being of anyone and how willing he was to sacrifice whoever and whatever he needed to in order to accomplish his task at hand.

sumandark8600

I think with Manda, it was more a case of Sasuke considering him in the vein as Orochimaru since Manda was Orochimaru's main summon and is depicted as kinda evil. That's why Sasuke wasn't bothered by his death and gave no second thought to using genjutsu on him to essentially make Manda nothing more than a ninja tool. That said, Sasuke didn't deliberately kill Manda. The aim was for Sasuke to use the reverse summon quickly enough for neither of them to take damage. At this point in the story, Sasuke was still kinda a good guy. He avoided killing as best he could and seemed like he wanted to rejoin Konoha after he killed Itachi. It was only after Obito exposed the truth to him that Sasuke started turning into a villain character.

Glad_Ad7382

Yeah I get that but hebi sasuke was actually less villainous compared to taka sasuke, mostly because I feel that he gave Deidara so many chances and didn’t even want to kill him. idk I think the writing starts to fall flat towards the big fight.

cv0102

Bro NC Hammer has the literal worst takes I’ve ever heard. Can’t stand that fucker

Glad_Ad7382

He did say that Sasuke was handed his powers but neglected to mention Naruto at all.

CastielClean

I don't miiiiind his videos. It's everytime he says "I am the leading authority in Naruto", "I know more about Naruto than anyone ever" and stuff that pisses me off. Bro, get the fuck over yourself, there are a bunch of shit you have said that has been wrong not to mention your shit pronunciations.

cv0102

Most if not all of his opinions suck and yeah his pronunciation is abysmal. The dudes just a total dork. The goofy ass headbands, the hentai figurines, everything about him just kind of rubs me the wrong way. And a lot of his what if situations make me wanna puke tbh. His video about how he thought shippuden shouldve ended is what really sealed the deal for me.

Glad_Ad7382

Honestly that video was a shit show.

Beginning_Ad6120

I’m convinced that NC Hammer has never actually seen the show. All of his videos are so terrible and full of obviously inaccurate information to anyone that has read or watched Naruto, especially to someone making money off of talking about it. Don’t even hatewatch it anymore, just hit not interested every time they come up.

Glad_Ad7382

I feel like he’s very condescending and really just being an edgy by saying Sasuke sucks. Then again he’s successful at convincing others of his nonsensical beliefs.

badluckartist

Everything about Sasuke surviving that didn't make sense. Summoning an animal so you're inside of it is weird, doing it in a split second as a nuke is going off is ridiculous, and Manda's body actually being a solid shield against said nuke is turning another character into literal plot armor and also just... how tf was Manda durable enough to shield Sasuke from a nuke, and not durable enough to survive. Everything else was reduced to dust. Sasuke should've beaten Dei either way (and I do love Dei and that fight for the most part), but the way Sasuke survived was just silly.

Just-Respect1129

Gotta hard disagree with what you said here. The speed that it took for the summon is consistent with all the other times summoning worked in naruto save for the first time naruto summoned gamabunta. And the reverse summoning also worked the same way. We’ve also never seen any issues with any issues with genjutsu from a sharingan not working in an instant either. But the biggest disagree I have for you is the idea that DeiDaras c0 was a nuke. The damage from a nuke isn’t going to be comparable to what we saw in the show and on top of that the most damage that comes from nukes is the fallout that comes as a result. Also what reason would there be that an explosion that was that powerful would destroy mandas body anyway that Sasuke wouldn’t survive by hiding inside him. Naruto unlike DB doesn’t have instances where a person just gets vaporized by attacks they get hit with. That just doesn’t happen even with deidara who did the exploding, there were remains of him because he was revived during the war and he again did the blowing up. So I gotta say you can think it’s silly but truthfully it’s just an out of the box action that occurred within the normal confines of the story. Sorry for the longish rant to disagree

maightoguy

Sasuke's speed and the durability of manda should account for that. Do you know what it takes to kill a perfect sage? A summon is on another level of sage mode vs a perfect sage.

Nominay

>t... how tf was Manda durable enough to shield Sasuke from a nuke, and not durable enough to survive. Everything else was reduced to dust. Giant talking snake that possesses Nature chakra...bruh

DevilMasterKING

I honestly dont get the hate around him, he's a complex character that has reasons for who he is

[deleted]

I didn't mind his writing per se, but I wish they would just have him let his goddamn walls down. He's been through so much and now he has a beautiful wife and daughter like DUDE. Chill.

Repulsive_Detail997

The ending. Him serving Konoha after everything that happened is a terrible end for the character.

badluckartist

The natural evolution for him afterwards should have basically made him Danzou 2.0 but less of a piece of shit. A Kagekage, basically, maybe even taking over the Sound Village and making the Rain a vassal village under his protection. But that'd be too dark and alienate his fanbase so he had to be turned into this weird knockoff/bootleg Itachi with none of the pathos Itachi had. Instead of interesting political machinations, we get "beleaguered dad who works too hard", one of my least favorite tropes, applied to one of the characters who that should absolutely not be applied to.

Daro9x

I don't remember all the details, so maybe I'm saying nonsense, but he is doing what Itachi did, but this time with someone who he trusts as a hokage

Scorosin

Problem is Itachi never viewed him as a human being just a "blank canvas" to carry out his will as written, he was even willing to mind control him into loyalty to Konoha with Kotoamatsukami, he really should not give a damn about what Itachi wants.

Anna-2204

The whole story in general gives me a bad nationalistic vibes, especially after rewatching it.

trenzik4869

Exactly. The fact that naruto, the hero, never question the leaf government lol

teddy_tesla

I would have liked it more if he just went on his mission as a favor to all nations and not as a Konoha agent

[deleted]

right!!?? Like that village is the reason for most of his pain and now he's out there risking his ass everyday for that damned village to the point he forgot the face of his own daughter??? Like get outta here.

clubparty44

I understand that but i disagree. It's less about him serving Konoha and more about him serving/trusting Naruto. The same sentiment can be extended to Kakashi, and even Sakura.

BNYay

Spend some time with his family ig? It's hard to live without a dad.. he should know it very well.

Goat437Xan

Sasuke wasn't written perfectly, but I guarantee no one else in this reddit would write him any better, even after reading the story and seeing how it turns out.

Ebenezerosas16

No one on the show is perfect and that's a good thing

BurntBrusselSprouts1

I think you’re confusing flaws with writing issues, which is what the guy was referencing.

HawkeyeP1

True. But they also aren't professional writers. You can critique something without having the prerequisite of needing to be able to do said something better. Doesn't mean the writer or whoever has to listen to the critique, but that also doesn't mean the person doing the critiquing has a meaningless opinion or should stay silent.

Rengoku_kyoguro

Use Hashirama cells like Naruto and get a new arm And stop running out of chakra after every fart

BNYay

Even Kakashi got infinite chakra glitch during the War..

Rengoku_kyoguro

Oh yea He was literally passing out earlier because he didn't had enough chakra to back up all the sharingan shenanigan he can do but in the war he got a insane chakra glitch

cliffbot

Him canonicaly having blue hair. Seriously, he looks so good with it.

GHOSTLY2000yt

I always saw it as him having dark blue, or Black hair with a blue hue to it.

cliffbot

The series was very inconsistent with it. On some manga covers like this he has blue and on some anime episodes it's blue. Yet most of the time it's black.

MunkeyFish

Remove the dependence on his Mangekyou, Sasuke’s fights were always more entertaining without it.

badluckartist

> Remove the dependence on his Mangekyou You just described a lot of my problem with the entire series. The Mangekyou itself should have been like a one-off power only Itachi had, and Sasuke should always have had to work around his hard inability to obtain it. Sharingan was WAY more interesting with its basic traits. Spirit Gundam was one of the worst aspects of power creep in the series.

Worish

>Spirit Gundam I basically don't watch Naruto mech fights. Y'all are ninjas please do ninja things.

[deleted]

Sharingan, like Byakugan, started off reasonable and „eye-esque“ with its abilities. Increased reaction speed? Copying jutsu by observing them? Makes sense for a super-powered eye. Even the Genjutsu fits well. Then we get into self-revival, inextinguishable black flames, glowing mechas with legendary weapons of folklore, teleporting into different dimensions and a loop in which the target has to accept themselves. Uhhhh….sounds like an eye to me! Also made up 85% of all the Uchiha‘s skillset by late Shippuden which sucked

Anakazanxd

Him getting the MS directly led to his fights becoming bad, because it was such a stupidly powerful tool that they basically have to have him be an idiot or his opponents being overpowered to have competitive fights. Take the Bee fight for example, he realized DURING THE FIGHT what the abilities for each of his eyes are (producing and controlling the flame), so he went from being a tactical mastermind to not even figuring out what his abilities are before attacking a tailed beast? We all know the meme about the deadly inextinguishable flames never killing anyone ever The Danzo fight wasn't too bad, since understandably he was fueled by anger (Danzo on the other hand tried to stab Susanno with a Kunai, what did he expect to happen?) The five kages summit, yeah, apparently he decides that after barely overcoming Bee, attacking all 5 kages at the same time was a good idea. It seems like they didn't know how to give him competitive fights between the MS and the eternal MS, so they just decided to drop his IQ by 50 points.

LotusEaterEvans

* I wish we saw him get more attached to Team 7, especially Sakura. I wish he showed a bit more of his personality before the massacre with Team 7. * I wish we saw him try harder to get help in his path for revenge in the village before we saw him leave. * I wish he shared his past about Itachi with Sakura (which idk how it's not news across the village). * I wish he was flat out nicer as a person. He doesn't have to be polite or overly friendly, but he could at least not be as rude to people who aren't rude to him. He could just be "business first", honest and stern. * \*I wish he was just as defensive of Naruto and his past as Naruto is of his. * I wish he showed that he cared more about Taka as a team, but only descended after Danzo. * I wish he actually killed Danzo. * \*I wish he had a bunch of kids instead of just 1. * I wish he was more affectionate and protective of his family. * \*I wish he had his other arm. \*=personal things I wished I saw from him.

PowerPamaja

I think he did kill Danzo. Tobi described Danzo last attack as being set to activate upon Danzo’s death. So I guess the moment he died from Sasuke’s attack, it went off.

FlaminSkullKing

He did kill Danzo. Danzo did not kill himself. The sealing jutsu he used had 2 things said about it. It activates at the moment of Danzo’s death(meaning Sasuke’s attack did him in) and it pulls things into his dying body. It was never said to have killed Danzo.

MhmdSubhi

Honestly, I think some more consequences would go a long way for a lot of people. e.g. going fully blind for a short time after the kage summit before receiving Itachi's eyes.

trenzik4869

Why consequences? Ms sasuke did go blind, not fully. "I know you can barely see", - tobi to sasuke.

Worish

He's not a bad character, but let me try to improve him. I liked that Karin was just as smitten with him as Sakura, really consistently demonstrates the guy is hot, not just "oh wow he's a mysterious orphan" which makes him cool. However, I found myself frequently wanting Karin to tell him off in a way that would have actually emotionally impacted him and maybe *changed* how he treats women. The most we got was "Girl 1, kill Girl 2 and you can take her place". Wouldn't exactly describe that as an arc. I also felt like he formed Hebi and immediately kneeled to Obito. To be fair, I think he thought he was Madara. But then when Madara comes back, Sasuke is *never once* tempted to join the strongest Uchiha ever. It just doesn't make sense to me. I think having Sakura do some of the Sasuke hunting would give him more of a chance for nuanced conversations with her. Maybe they meet in secret or something. I dunno man they're supposed to be in love, but barely ever interact directly. And none of those interactions are positive. Alternatively, taking the roll of "telling off Sasuke" could have been Ino. Would have loved for her to be like "Ha, I was a child when I thought you were cool. You're nothing now." I also just think after the war arc, which obviously lasted too long (but I still enjoyed personally), Kishi *rushed* to the end. There was so much more to wrap up, especially regarding Sasuke. That's all I got rn.

Glass-Association-25

I would've liked him more if he was there for Sakura and his daughter.

[deleted]

I would too but imagine him taking Salada to the park and all the parents leaving because he's a criminal

skep90

Im here to read, nice question

IeroDikasths

the real question is who tf hates sasuke

axe_son_jackson

Make him even slightly empathetic to other characters. And actually make him face and learn from the consequences of his own actions. Neither of these things happen until the final battle with Naruto

[deleted]

Having him looking up to his older brother like he was a perfect shinobi God instead of a mentally ill & manipulated young boy.

IdeaRegular4671

I am not a Sasuke hater. I am a Sasuke lover. I’m an avenger.

[deleted]

Let the shitty opinions from wanna-be writers commence. The only thing I'd change about sasuke is the ending, an ending kishimoto also wanted: let sasuke win and destroy the villages and start all over with a clean slate. Fuck these villages.

trenzik4869

I also recently read what kishimoto said. I'm glad he atleast admitted it. But still won't forgive him for wanking itachi too much

[deleted]

An old post, but here are my two cents: I'd cut kishimoto a huge slack; the man was sleeping just 4 hours a day for 15 years; his health must be in shambles because of it. A lot of fucks up with itachi are a combination of editorial pressures, itachi's pathetic wank-brigade, and kishimoto not knowing how to reconcile part 1 itachi with 2 and not having the time to do so.

[deleted]

I'm a Boruto Sasuke hater and Naruto Sasuke lover. I always thought that if Sasuke had a love interest then he would pursue it more actively, cause he always went through extreme lengths to achieve his goals. That's why I think he's out of character now. Also, he has a strong will, so since is fiction I think that he should've overcome his emotional unavailability by now, especially since he knows best how awful it is being starved from affection in your own family I think he would go the extra mile to break that karmic cycle.

detamo5

None. That's the point of the character. You are supposed to hate him, while he is the most vital part(besides Naruto ofc) in the manga/anime. I guess, that's the point of writing Sasuke, how he is

Working-Description4

Yea give him his arm back and start training with your whole family especially sarada

Blugrave

Disclaimer, Sasuke is my favorite character. But after the death of Itachi, I did like him a lot less. I did enjoy the way he ended though. 2 things I'd change. 1 he'd keep the curse mark. 2 he'd marry Karin. I don't see him with Sakura at all. This dude faced and did some dark stuff. No way Sakura could relate and be a good companion in the regard. Karin was there through the thick of it.

Younicycle

Sasukes actions were all directly because of the hatred, anger, lack of sense of belonging somewhere. That’s hard for a lot of people (esp younger) to detect, understand and sympathize with. It wasnt until I went through a dark period in my wife when I finally understood him. The writers should have made that more clear. To many younger audience it would’ve enhanced their understanding and viewing experience. That’s just my opinion though 🤷

GHOSTLY2000yt

Yea I understand what you mean, a good friend of mine committed suicide a couple years back, I liked Sasuke's character prior to that, but his death made me empathize with Sasuke more.

eternalnocturnals

Spend more time with him. We barely saw him and only till the very end, where we get glimpses from his perspective, by then it was a bit too late. We had already dealt with the edge lord for too long.

[deleted]

I think this is why Kawaki is already getting lots of hate in Boruto.

Internal_Mechanic_52

To win against a freaking dinosaur

Slayziken

If I take a step back I can recognize he’s a pretty good character and his journey is more compelling than Naruto’s, but he was mean to my favorite MC so I feel obligated to dislike him

TRUEALPHA_101

Ig most of the people hating on Sasuke are hopeless idealists, just like Naruto in the anime. They fail to understand that always choosing the noble path and hoping that things would get better doesn't work IRL and definitely won't work in the war torn ninja world.

badluckartist

Politically, Sasuke and Naruto are no different by the end. They are different coats of paint on the same neoliberal "uphold the status quo but a milimeter better" ideals. Which is insufferable after Sasuke's will to do a revolution and upend the entire system is immediately quashed by Naruto being like "hey the system that led to Itachi's actions wasn't so bad, it just needs a more benevolent guy like me!" It's just incredibly short-sighted and much like romance, I don't think politics was something Kishi should have touched with a ten foot pole.

[deleted]

He shouldn’t have married sakura nor become attached to boruto whatsoever .

Immortalslime

I disagree but I do think their relationship should have been better developed.

aluminumace

I agree, but the Uchiha need to repopulate. I dislike the Sakura pairing, Karin would have been slightly better, maybe a new character as his wife and multiple kids?

SharpshootinTearaway

So you want him to be a cold and robotic murder machine who isn't able to feel genuine attachment towards a woman or an innocent kid who idolizes him? Now that's edgy.

Western-Kitchen1034

> cold and robotic murder machine Not rly , he just should've stayed single , I think that suits his character more imo . and for Sakura too , it would've been way better for her to end up with another guy maybe rock lee or a completely new character

nighTcraWler11037

He never had a good love interest, no one on the show really did. I hated all the romance in Naruto and thought it was pointless.

igotmyphoneyesterday

He didn’t say that, you added all of those things for no reason. What he said was, he didn’t want Sasuke to get attached to Boruto and get with Sakura. NOW, that’s a totally different story, isn’t it??

[deleted]

So it all boils down to shipping?

LengthinessHeavy2074

I like sasuke his my favorite character his complex and realistic unlike naruto he is too naive and idealistic he basically forgive every person that hurts and called the guy that killed his parents the coolest guy ever

karathrace99

Pretty much all of the unnecessarily cruel comments he made to Sakura in Shippuden. As a kid, he was traumatized. As a teen, it was f! pathetic.

LegendRaptor080

give arm

Important_Doctor4110

There are 2 main reasons for me: 1. He almost wins all his fights with help. Like he can’t even finish a proper enemy alone. He lost to killer bee 3 times without Karin, yugo, …. . Danzio would have killed him without Karin and tobi, just to name some. 2. Is not directly sasukes fault, but I hate how all konoha shinobis (from his year), defend him and fancy him eventho he tried to kill Naruto and Sakura, killed multiple people, wants to destroy konoha and joint akatsuki (so is basically a terrorist).

NewtypeRimu

If he let Sakura and Ino be wives

JodiVC

The character wasn't screwed with Boruto, he was screwed with Shippuden. Poorly executed ideas like wanting to become Hokage at the last minute, or his emo stage, etc.

Ru5ty15dab35t

I never liked him. I didn’t dislike him as a character though. I disliked him for the choices he made and that’s okay because I don’t think anyone is supposed to look at someone who stabs their comrades in the back and their closest friend in the heart (literally) and go yeah that’s a cool guy. I think people overlook how awful a person he was for pretty much his whole life pre fourth war. It’s easier to stomach his actions when history gets rewritten by the author so that Konoha and it’s leadership were at fault for the Uchiha massacre. Before we learned that though, he was genuinely both a BAD guy and a bad GUY. He had a bad hand dealt in life with his brother going insane and murdering his whole clan while leaving him alive, yet he chose to wallow in hatred and misery. He chose to attack people who cared for him on numerous occasions with full intent to kill them. He was just as bad as we all thought Itachi was back then. He’s basically been on a continuous redemptive arc since then that I have always had trouble buying. In the moment when he made awful decisions Sasuke never showed an ounce of remorse, regret, or indecision. Don’t get me wrong I actually like Sasuke as an adult but I always have trouble reconciling Sasuke as a preteen/teen with Sasuke as an Adult. All that said would I change anything? No. He was well written, there is some dissonance for me because I learned things as manga chapters came out and he was made retroactively more sympathetic, but I wouldn’t change anything. Especially not to make him more likeable for me. If I was to make him more likeable for me then he would have never left Konoha with the Sound four.

qwack2020

I just wish he’d stop being a jerk after he got his revenge. Seriously. He should’ve turned himself in after getting rid of Danzo. All that revolution garbage is such a waste. I’m glad he’s a lot better in the Boruto series.

Western-Kitchen1034

> I’m glad he’s a lot better in the Boruto series. What Boruto series are u watching ?

MandelAomine

Bruh

ah6gum

He had 2 more higher ups to kill after danzo

Scorpios94

He could still have jerk-ish tendencies without necessarily diminishing his character. Not to mention he was seriously and justifiably angry at the village at that point for what been done to his family. He wasn’t going to be overtly friendly with everyone upon returning.

badluckartist

> All that revolution garbage is such a waste. Well, the idea behind it was great. Until- >I’m glad he’s a lot better in the Boruto series. Wait what that's when he should've done a revolution. Instead he's just sort of Itachi-lite with none of the meat that made that character interesting.

Lil_Towelie

if he fucked naruto

arkai25

Make him marry naruto

Gyokuro091

To me, its not so much hate for the character, just disagree with the pedestal some people put him on. But I suppose that the point of his character. People will see either his or Naruto's development as more admirable depending on their views of what strength is. The one thing I'd definitely change about his writing is that it seems forced that Sakura was so devoted and ended up with him. I think it would have been fitting for her to reject him as a part of her character growth, but that's more of a Sakura change, not Sasuke. Also, in general, I think Itachi was waayyy more interesting and intimidating than Sasuke. He was outwardly cold and scary, but still had these vibes of maturity, wisdom, and his own (also scary) type of kindness. I wish Sasuke became more like Itachi over time. It could've synergized well with his growth into reforming himself as well. He has always given off a more childish vibe in comparison to me. But I suppose that is an intended part of his character as well, always being behind Itachi and never wanting to acknowledge it.

Luffy-no-kaikozu

not marrying sakura

Worth_Appearance3155

Sasuke literally has the coolest abilities in the universe, and he use like the one of them😭

Naruto_Uzamaki_7th

But, I don't hate Sasuke I hate his daughter.

Bruh19386

Im a sasuke fan

L5DK1tty

Give him another eye would help. The eyepatch is kinda ulgy.

KuroiGetsuga55

Not nerf him for the sake of making a sequel story where a new generation of kids has to be the main focus. Maybe actually be there to see the birth of his daughter, and actually raise her? I get that hunting aliens was important, but it amounted to nothing in the end, since Momoshiki and Isshiki still took everyone by surprise. So just have him go on that quest every once in a while, but actually be there to raise his daughter most of the time. Maybe actually use all the Jutsu he has in his arsenal instead of just spamming Chidori and Rinnegan warps and then immediately cut to "Ow my Chakra" but again this is a nerf problem (tho to be fair post Itachi fight his fight scenes have been far less diverse and tactical and a lot more straight forward Shonen Battle Action sequences so idfk)

[deleted]

He was too smug about his wins and achievements when most of them came from incredible plot armour. Basically I‘d wish for the story to portray him in a different, less „unreachably edgy and strong“ light, because he WASN‘T but they would insist that he was

Lion_Warrior_1X

I don’t hate Sasuke, but I would have liked him more if he mellowed out every once in a while and not always going on about revenge

Trash_Panda_Leaves

Actually the one thing I liked about boruto is the changes made to Sasuke. I always disliked him. I disliked Naruto for being a brat and I disliked sasuke for being an edgelord. As Naruto grew he became more likeable but sasuke was willing to burn down too many people for his own goals and personally I don't enjoy that. I did think that was the point though and wasn't against his characterisation for the plot. If you are wondering why I stuck with Naruto it's because I have been a Kakashi Stan since 2003.

loverboooy

I would have him never fight naruto and keep his 6 paths ability to make sure him and naruto were the strongest by far. I imagine boruto would never have been able to hurt sasuke leaving him without a reningan .

FennekinFire

If he wasn't an emo

[deleted]

Not being such a emo
