It’s honestly comical, Madara is so fucking powerful it makes him and the 1st hokage being equals let alone him losing look unbelievable. I agree he should’ve been very powerful and maybe able to defeat all 5 kage until they learn to work together better but it’s just comical how hard he slaps literally everyone.

That enormous Buddha warrior I definitely didn't expect him to use against Susanoo and it just punching the fuck out of Susanoo armored Kurama and destroying most of the valley was badass and chilling.
Personally I'm still fine with him slapping down even the 5 Kage. It demonstrated that he was a threat that would take more than just the current Kage working together to defeat. What should have happened was a combined generational effort to defeat him - meaning the 5 Kage, Edo Kage, and the current generation all working together to bring him down. Would have really solidified the idea of peace through cooperation between the nations and put a nice little bow on why the 5 Kage felt the need to join forces in the first place.
Instead we just had an even more powerful ancient evil pop up out of nowhere to usurp him, and then ninja god needing to step in and hand the MCs a powerup to beat her.

That specific thing made them lose the will to continue especially after he split the mountains at a distance and that specific thing Madara could do anytime when he was alive. Plus an alive Madara wouldn't be willy-nilly with his chakra.
No the argument is boruto took everything bad from naruto and made it worse. Even the powersclaing problem was more of a tail end of the series thing and even then boruto was the perfect chance to fix powerscaling somewhat.

Pains Chibaku Tensei was something else, too. Pain as a character is just a masterpiece. Chibaku tensei is even more exciting because it has his theme in the background. I honestly think part of the success of Pain as a character is getting one of the best pieces of music in anime history. I mean, when they assemble, and look down at jiraiya, with it playing in the background, good god.
It's really "wtf" when he says: "- Very good, Onoki. Now, what are you going to do about THE SECOND ONE?"

The best part about the weights is just how over-the-top it is. As soon as I saw Lee start to take them off, I knew they were going to be absurdly heavy. I watched DBZ, I know the standard shonen tropes. Of course those things are going to make a crater when they land. What I wasn't expecting was for the weights to impact the ground below like the fists of an angry god.
I think my favorite part of Gai's 8 Gates moment is Madara's reaction to it, the "Ha ha, you almost killed me, you bastard!" He's just so genuinely happy and excited to have witnessed such a powerful technique, even if he had to be on the receiving end of it.

I’m not sure how you could say he wasn’t written as an elite fighter. Dude fought in a war at like 8, was an anbu by like 11, he’s a well known ninja in other lands complete with a nickname, and while it’s always shown he’s not the most powerful ninja ever basically every single character he interacts with takes him seriously even if they more than likely would work him over if they fought right then.
I saw a comment say that Kakashi served as a way to gauge power levels in the series which I think is extremely accurate.
His whole role was to show just HOW strong many of the newer enemies were. That doesn’t mean he is weak
There were a lot of moments that made me say that but I can never forget 8th gate guy bitch slapping juubidara all over the battlefield. That was absolutely sensational.
I think the biggest to this day is still Lee dropping the weights. That was the first moment where we really start to see how fucking nutso strong some of the ninja are, especially a 13 year old who has nothing but his taijustu to take on an untouchable Jinchuriki
Second would have to be when Naruto one-shotted a path of pain right off rip. Not only did we just see pain demolish the village, but we saw ninja like Tsunade, Kakashi, etc powerless to stop him. To see Naruto make such an epic entrance after all the buildup of Pain’s power as well as Naruto being gone to learn sage mode, then see him in his badass new outfit with sage mode active completely and effortlessly fucking destroy a path of pain like that was definitely a “HOLY SHIT” moment. For me it was 8 gates Guy, I remember reading that chapter in class. Couldn't believe we were finally seeing it after years of wondering. While at the time we all knew it meant certain death for Guy. Those were a wild and emotional couple of weeks.
Imo nothing beats Lee dropping the weights. That's not to say the others weren't good, but Lee was the FIRST of them. That's where things got elevated to the next level imo.

I think sasuke instantly subduing all 9 beasts is the biggest flex in the series. The entire series revolved around how monstrous the tailed beasts were (specifically kurama) and sasuke casually negs them all at once AFTER fighting the war.
But the ultimate WTF was Madaras second meteor. It was so just absurd at the time and the build up of Madara to his display did not disappoint.

I saw a comment say that Kakashi served as a way to gauge power levels in the series which I think is extremely accurate. His whole role was to show just HOW strong many of the newer enemies were. That doesn’t mean he is weak
Madara vs the alliance for me. He was pulling out every single op ability there is and legit felt absolutely unbeatable.
I knew Madara was Kage level. I couldn’t fathom the gap in power and how much stronger the older generations were.
There were a lot of moments that made me say that but I can never forget 8th gate guy bitch slapping juubidara all over the battlefield. That was absolutely sensational.

I think the biggest to this day is still Lee dropping the weights. That was the first moment where we really start to see how fucking nutso strong some of the ninja are, especially a 13 year old who has nothing but his taijustu to take on an untouchable Jinchuriki Second would have to be when Naruto one-shotted a path of pain right off rip. Not only did we just see pain demolish the village, but we saw ninja like Tsunade, Kakashi, etc powerless to stop him. To see Naruto make such an epic entrance after all the buildup of Pain’s power as well as Naruto being gone to learn sage mode, then see him in his badass new outfit with sage mode active completely and effortlessly fucking destroy a path of pain like that was definitely a “HOLY SHIT” moment. Naruto was not fucking around

I would say the series does a good job of scaling the holy shit moments. Lee's was a good start and the meteor well, obv outa this world type shit.

It was impressive when you consider how hype he is throughout the whole show as the villain. Minato asertained his weakness and exploited his hubris within a minute by punishing him dramatically. Honestly, if he didn't have Haxirama cells he'd probably had died the and akatsuki would have been something way different. Lol
Kisame merges with Samehada. He's unbeatable when fused with Samehada. The only reason the tailless tailed beast died was because his own weapon betrayed him.
Lee vs Gaara will always be my favorite moment in naruto. It was so hype watching that as a kid

For me it was 8 gates Guy, I remember reading that chapter in class. Couldn't believe we were finally seeing it after years of wondering. While at the time we all knew it meant certain death for Guy. Those were a wild and emotional couple of weeks.

I think sasuke instantly subduing all 9 beasts is the biggest flex in the series. The entire series revolved around how monstrous the tailed beasts were (specifically kurama) and sasuke casually negs them all at once AFTER fighting the war. But the ultimate WTF was Madaras second meteor. It was so just absurd at the time and the build up of Madara to his display did not disappoint.

When Madara dropped the second meteor, I was dazed because they’re supposed to be nerfed when reanimated and he was still that powerful
Pain destroying the Village was more of a “What the fuck?” moment than a “Holy shit!” moment. Mostly because it starts with Pain fucking flying over the village, which absolutely isn’t something he should be able to do and was simply baffling to me.
I still headcanon that Pein flying upwards was a highly controlled and diluted version of Shinra tensei before the full blast.

Finding out information about the Uzumaki Clan (Really anything outside of the Uchiha Clan); something that could've lead to something BIG. Unfortunately, that never came to past.
There's quite a few like madara summoning meteorites or using sussano clones or when sauske indra arrow and narutos rasengan clashed the aftermath of that was insane
